She really is. She's brash without being annoying, funny without being overbearing, and you actually get the sense she really cares about her sorority sisters and is just using her humor as a shield to avoid showing how vulnerable she is.
I can respect You even more for being owned by a beautiful Siamese cat. My family spent 40 years being owned by Siamese cats. They are awesome to be owned by. My mother had to be one's heater until it was over 90 degree's in the summer. Several of these cats would not leave a lap until July and August. The rest of the year, they needed a lap to keep them warm. You know that Siam is tropical, but Ohio is not. Thus, they were on a lap 20 hours a day. Thanks C. Snob for being owned. I love your reviews too.
I just love the way the movie ends, who is the killer? We will never know. It reminds me of the ending of Halloween, its like wow, what just happened...
Such a realistic ending. Criminals can get away with crimes & never be caught, even now. Hit-and-runs, rape, robberies, larceny, vandalism, etc. With all of the bubbly whimsy fantasy movies nowadays, movies like this are a wake-up call.
I actually read on a few articles that Bob Clark originally had an identity for the killer: Chris, Claire’s boyfriend who would turn up in the final reel to murder Jess
Actually Snob.... A couple Christmases ago I was in New York and a guy had a sign that said free hugs. My best friend at the time was so excited that she made us both hug them. He felt me up and went mmmmm, but he didn't do that to her 😂. So, the problem is not whether or not you will get the hugs it's how creepy you will be.
Pretty much the first movie to use the line about the killer calling within the house. A golden standard of what an eerie and well done horror movie is supposed to be like.
From Wikipedia: For the American release, Warner Bros. initially changed the title to Silent Night, Evil Night, worried that the original title would mislead audiences into believing the film was a blaxploitation movie. They retracted the title after the initial release, restoring it to Black Christmas for subsequent screenings.
Whether she’s playing in a Shakespearean tragedy, a Hercule Poirot mystery, or a horror film or miniseries, Olivia Hussey is always stunningly beautiful
With Fred Williamson - "Black Cobra Comes To Christmas Town" - a small town is held hostage by a band of Christmas-obsessed terrorists, forced to live in perpetual Yuletide, only Black Cobra can save the day. it would need to be directed by Ruggero Deodato or Lucio Fulci and feature David Hess as the main villain. Ohhhh who's going to cover soundtrack duties? Bruno Nicolai? Riz Ortolani? Stelvio Cipriani? Ennio Morricone? Goblin? Ahhhhhhh too many choices....I've given this way too much thought!
Not just one of my favorite horror movies, but one of my favorite movies of all time! I watch it every Christmas, and I love when a nephew or a younger relative accidentally walks in on me watching it and gets instantly traumatized by the film. Merry Christmas, you little s--t...
Oh that's Keir Dullea, born in Cleveland Ohio, best known as Dr. David Bownan in Stanley Kubricks' 2001 : A Space Odyssey. Yeah Cleveland boy makes good. Paul Newman was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, right next to Cleveland. And Bob Hope lived in Cleveland too. I think I'm off subject. Knowledge is important.
The first time I saw Black Christmas was on Cinemax back in the early 1980's under the title Stranger In The House. Never knew the original title was Black Christmas until the first remake came out. I have a feeling this new one is gong to bomb bigger then the first remake did.
Just saw the new remake's commercial on the boob-tube yesterday (yeah, I'm one of the few millennial's left with a cable box) and in a span of 30 seconds, they spoiled every single act of the movie. I swear it ended with the actual ending of the movie where they all walk away victoriously. I can't remember the last time a trailer just straight up abridged a movie like that, not even Terminator: Salvation was that bad.
I'm so glad I watched this film the day before! Hell, it was...... *definitely* a step up compared to _The_ _Skeleton_ _Key_ , which I saw earlier in the day.
So the question is will he review the Weinstein Company remake from 2006? Which sadly doesn't even break the top 10 of the worst things that company was involved in.
This should’ve been expected by now. Every time a new movie that’s based on an existing property is releasing, movie reviewers and CinemaSins come in a make a releases to them. It’s almost like the RUclips equivalent of a cash grab at this point now. Same with video game related channels like Did You Know Gaming.
14:24 Oh, don´t you dare poke fun at this scene, this shit SCARRED me, when I first saw this movie and cemented it into my memory as one of my all time favorites!...😅🤣
Yup. Olivia Hussey. She's also well known for playing Juliet in the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet, Mary in Jesus of Nazareth, and Norma Bates in Psycho: The Beginning.
Nice joke about Keir Dullea's "Dave Clark Five audition" look in the film btw, and Andrea Martin later went on to fame for playing a plethora of characters on "SCTV" just a few years after this came out.
That honestly has to be the most unsatisfying ending ever, they know the calls are coming from inside the house, but they never send any officers to look in the house? and the killer is clearly stuck in the attic along with claire, or did everyone forget there even is an attic?? or do they all go in one by one and end up dead
The ending's a bit of a surprise. The police (and the audience) believe the Peter is the killer, and he's dead, killed in self-defence. The attic was also out of the way, not easily accessed- in their false sense of relief, the real killer goes unnoticed.
The original is one of my favorite movies of all time, but if I knew that there was a screening of this playing to an empty theater (which considering it's competition, isn't entirely off the table), you bet I'm going to sneak in without paying (because why would I give this movie money?) in order to riff the shit out of it!
Interesting parts of the production are that it’s the DOP climbing the trellis to the attic in the opening scene (he mounted the camera to his shoulder and went up) & many members of the crew (including Bob Clark) along with an actor created the fucked up phone calls for the actresses
Haha Brad, that's a cute onesie. xD Since you reviewed a Killer turkey movie, I think you should review "Attack of the Killer Doughnuts". It looks delightfully stupid.
@@ShadeMeadows I never claimed remakes are bad by default. But the sheer amount of remakes produced in the past decade, combined with current trends in the business, does, in my opinion, contribute to what could be the worst period in movie making so far. Snob, would you consider doing the 2006 BLACK CHRISTMAS at some point?
Stoned Gremlin Productions Hope Your Thanksgiving was great !!
"Black Christmas"? i think that you mean "Christmas of Color" or even "Holiday of Color".
Can we all agree that Olivia Hussey is still absolutely gorgeous?
She is!
Agreed!
No. Dust.

Margot Kidder's Barb is one of the best slasher movie characters of all time. Rest In Peace, Ms. Kidder.

I just love the way the movie ends, who is the killer? We will never know. It reminds me of the ending of Halloween, its like wow, what just happened...
Supposedly this movie was Carpenter's inspiration and asked Bob Clark if he had to make a sequel how would he do it and Halloween was the answer!💟
Yeah they mentioned it in the documentary, pretty cool.
Such a realistic ending.
