My favorites were Pitt Fall and Kangaroo, but of the operating ones SwingShot is my favorite. I've yet to see Black Widow operating when I've been at Kennywood.
Great video and thanks for including the 4 removed rides. I agree, kangaroo’s removal still baffles me and Bayern Kurve was my all time favorite flat! I have heard that kangaroo abs paratrooper were put into storage, so who know what the future holds for those two flats.
My understanding is that Palace's insurance underwriter refused to cover those rides anymore. IMHO they should have gotten a new insurance company, the one that Knoebel's uses comes to mind. There are new versions of most of these rides available, ones that are TUV and ASTM certified, perhaps they will replace the old ones with these
@@adrienneflora7078 Actually the Bayren Kurve first appeared at the park in the late 1960's, a concession operated by Conklin Shows of Toronto. The park bought the ride after the contract expired. It's been there on and off since the then.
The first thing I want to say is thank you so much for showing flat rides. I love coasters but always felt that flat rides are more fun. The second thing I want to say is I'm so sad that the rides they are removing are some of my favorites. So very sad.
[Disclaimer: I have never been to Kennywood, despite living in eastern PA] Each to his own, but I love 'Enterprise' rides and probably would have put 'Volcano' in my personal Top 5. For me, it's the 'Pirate' ride that 'gets' to me; the pure rocking back-and-forth makes me nauseous, though rides with many circles I can usually tolerate just fine. I love 'Bayern Kurve' rides and wish there were *any* near me. I also love 'Waveswinger', 'Paratrooper', and 'Whip' rides, and also like 'Musik Express' (though I prefer Reverchon 'Himalaya' rides more).
The old “Scooter” ride had heavy metal bumper cars and you had to follow a set oval. When you could pick up speed, you could send another car wildly into the side slamming it hard. It was great. The Turtle is really interesting to operate (or at least it was when I worked there for a few summers in the mid 80s. You had to crank a big metal wheel to engage the brakes. Depending on the weather, the braking distance on Turtle would change so you had to engage the brake at different times depending on the heat.
I haven’t been to kennywood in a few years. The last time I rode black widow was the debuting year of 2012. It’s supe intense. Supposedly it’s opening up this year.
I actually don't like the black widow, but I have a valid reason- When I was riding it my harness broke, meaning I only had the buckle. So it was terrifying.
i feel so bad about the kangaroos closing because that was always a good memory for my dad and i. he loves kennywood but doesnt like rollercoasters and he was always excited about the kangaroos and i hope he still has fun when we go :/
Dang it, now I really want to ride Black Widow! I still haven't ridden it because of how long it's been closed. It's one of two major rides at the park I've yet to get on, the other being Skycoaster. Although I'm excited to hopefully ride it next year!
Not a fan of the turtle. I was doing ok but the ride dragged on and on and my stomach didn't like that 🤢 and the volcano was awful...holy nausea batman!
I really hated when all Kennywood did was put lockers into where Bayern Kurves place, I know this would also suck but they could of at least put some games in that spot…. At least they brought Kangaroo Back
Spinvasion is the absolute worst flat ride they had ever installed. They could’ve had a machine shop make parts for one of the retired rides (volcano, etc.) for the price of that moving hunk of scrap metal. Very disappointed in Kennywood for the extreme ratio of rides lost to rides installed as well.
Theres not many flat rides left KENNYWOOD IS TAKING ALL THE GOOD FLAT RIDES OUT..aka Kangaroo parrotrooper and best of all Buren curve. The park will not get my$$$ dallors.
UPDATE: They kept the Kangaroo but got rid of the other 3 flat rides. Spinvasion also replaced Volcano.
I forgot to mention that I am also not including any up charge rides. So no Skycoaster and no Paddle Boats. Hope you enjoy the countdown!
My favorites were Pitt Fall and Kangaroo, but of the operating ones SwingShot is my favorite. I've yet to see Black Widow operating when I've been at Kennywood.
No way it’s you 🤯😳

That Bayern Kurve was there in the 80’s I rode it in jr high said it opened in the 90’s

I agree, the Bayern kurve was awesome
i mix the kangaroo

Going to Kennywood the 27th for my 21st. Didnt know Bayern Kurve shut down. That was my favorite flat. 😔
Same
I miss Kennywood so much!!! Jack Rabbit, Thunderbolt, and The Whip!
the whip?!?
@just-dashin it's right by the exterminator if you were to go it's very fun
It’s still there 😎
This is a VERY controversial list
I drove past this place a couple of days ago. I miss it so much!

Awesome video! I love flat rides! I am no longer interested in going upside down now that I am a senior citizen!

Did you report the thing because I do not see any news
I had a classmate say that during our trip there. Do hope you reported it if it happened.
This was just the seatbelt and the harness keeps you in. You were safe.
i feel so bad about the kangaroos closing because that was always a good memory for my dad and i. he loves kennywood but doesnt like rollercoasters and he was always excited about the kangaroos and i hope he still has fun when we go :/
GREAT NEWS! It's back! It was remodeled!
I was hoping to see the Tilt-A-Whirl! My favorite flat ride E-V-E-R!
That’s not at Kennywood
Did anyone else ever notice the cat in the hat Easter egg on the Bayern curve
I wonder what happened to pirate
We were at Kennywood in August 2023 - they brought back the Kangaroo - I rode it!
how do you brace yourself on cosmic chaos
Don't press the front of your body against the podium seat. When the restraint hits your back, move in slowly until you are comfortable.

I don't recommend it. I rid it and my harness broke.
@@whosmikaela5929 you’re harness didn’t break the seatbelt just came undone the over the head restraints is what keeps you in.
Kangaroo is one of my favorite rides at Kennywood. Why are they getting rid of it?
Kangaroo was removed but due to public outcry it returned with a refurbishment last year in 2022.

“One of only two In the world and the other one is at Canneyat lake park”
Turtle chase: bruh
What about the flying carpet
Flying Carpet was removed in 2006 and I unfortunately never rode it.
Oh my. I miss kennywood so much :/.
Nice job man
Thanks!
It makes me mad that we lost the Kangaroo. The whip is my favorite.
Cosmic Chaos my favorite. Zamperla Mega Disk O😍
that spot where Pitt Fall and BW have stood must be cursed, neither of those models are known to have extensive downtime
This was my home park as a kid but now I go to Waldameer
waldameer is actually awesome
I agree, I’m sad they aren’t open until next season. Some amusement parks open until Halloween
Not a fan of the turtle. I was doing ok but the ride dragged on and on and my stomach didn't like that 🤢
and the volcano was awful...holy nausea batman!
they added kangaroo back i rode it when i went to kennywood!
Swing shot is the best flat in my opinion
Not going to argue. It's really good!
Enterprise 💜💜💜💜💜
At least they are bringing back the Kangaroo!
I allmost fell out of the baren curve
I really hated when all Kennywood did was put lockers into where Bayern Kurves place, I know this would also suck but they could of at least put some games in that spot…. At least they brought Kangaroo Back

Wurlitzer not Waltzer 😉

I always hated the Bayern Kure because of the air horn lol…it always hurt my ears
They saved the Kangaroo i went to kennywood last year in 2023 they had it back.
kangaroo closing is a travesty.
NO I WANTED TO RIDE THE KANGAROO THIS YEAR
