I'm at the point in my life where I can't ride as many rides as I used to. I have not been to Kennywood in at least ten years, but I still like checking out Kennywood, if only through videos. Thank you for posting this.

It’s crazy to see the steel phantom without the trim brake. My goodness it was hauling ass through those loops, even after the trim was installed!

My home park Six Flags Darien Lake also had 3 water rides, now they're down to 1, they removed my favorite ride, the log flume in 2017 to make way for Tantrum in 2018, and Grizzly Run (river rapids) has been sitting dormant for the past few years now, so the only water ride left is Shipwreck Falls, the chute the chutes ride. Interesting enough, there's a rumor that Grizzly Run might be refurbished next year to reopen with the newly refurbished Mind Eraser next year.

there is a lot of blame to spread around. the day the trees came down. it lost one of the best things about the park a cool shady bench. now you bake in the sun. closing off fishing and fencing it all in stopped a decades long tradition to bring the kids to the park.

The very first time I went in this was in the summer of 1977 when I was 5 years old. Even though a lot of the props/effects are different now, I'd say approximately half of what I saw in this video is stuff that was vintage to the 1970's, and has been in this attraction for literally 45 - 50 years at this point. That's not a bad thing. I like the fact that some of my childhood memories can still be re-lived, even in 2024 yet. 😊

What a great commercial, back when the park was world class. The show depicted is "Hats Off To Hollywood," one of the greatest theme park Broadway style shows ever. And that's the original cast too!

I lived in Pittsburgh all my life. It took me all the way to now to finally visit Knoebels. I visited a few weeks ago. I really love this park. Definitely gives me old school Kennywood vibes.

15 year passholder here. They really gutted the place. You missed mentioning the removal of the mudslide from Jumpin Jungle this year also. That place is now a real ghost town. Nice to see them giving Storybook some attention the last two years though.

I’ve done this a few times way before season passes. Back when they used to have community days. Phantom fright nights I always used to park up there.

I like the walk down not gonna lie, but it’s worth taking a shuttle bus when your done with the park, that’s what I did yesterday

We lived close to what was then WestLake amusement park. My favorite ride was the Tumble Bug which's distinctive sound could be heard all summer when we were out in the yard on a high hill. You can make out that chugging sort of sound in places of this video. I think there are only a few remaining ones around.. I know KC had one which was inactive in the early 60s. No other St. Louis area park had one for some reason.

It was pretty busy that night. We went to see the drone show. It was a good show. Hopefully Kennywood will feature more entertainment like that. I know it can be pricey but try it a couple of nights. Closing the park at the same time the show ended was not too smart. They did open the Racer and Jack Rabbit back up until 10:30pm. Thank you for sharing.
