      @@BlueSparkshine the way I see it: while he was very ill, because he was a fully formed adult already (and not psychotic) he was able to conceive of the lifelong consequences of undergoing that procedure. He understood, at least to some extent, how dire and irreversible it is. He also had enough self awareness to say, _hmm, every time I undergo some change or procedure, I'm happy for a fleeting moment, then I get unhappy again. This procedure will probably be like that too._
      The brains of people under the age of about 25 are not fully developed. What's the last cognitive ability to develop fully? Cause and effect. Consequences of one's actions, especially long-term. Our mental model of the future 5, 10, 20+ years down the line. The people marketing these surgeries to 18-24 year olds are fully aware of this. They are fully aware that they are selling long-term disability to physically healthy young people... and I hope there is hell to pay. Soon.

      @cloverflower2820 Год назад +84

      Exactly...if a person can identify as an animal of a clown and if people can identify as the opposite gender, then why not another race? At least Oli was honest to say it out loud. Thousands of people take plastic surgery to look like someone else, or better than their natural self. It's true what Oli says of Asian people, they do go for surgeries to look Western!! Parents even gift surgeries to their kids over there! Therefore anyone criticizing Oli for wanting this is hypocritical.

    • @oblivionptx9058
      @oblivionptx9058 Год назад +13

      @@cloverflower2820 the "identifying as other races, objects" or whatever js absurd, yes, but being transgender is not, since there is scientific proof that people can be born with the opposite sex's brain structure, therefore they feel real heavy discomfort in their bodies. But, it's always only male and female, not crazy genders like pangender, or skoliogender and stuff like that. Those, yes, are just bs.
      I believe some people just hate their role in society as a man or a woman, or maybe don't fit the social criteria for their gender at birth, so they 'identify' as something else.

    • @oblivionptx9058
      @oblivionptx9058 Год назад +9

      @Samantha Whang Kids and even adults enjoy things that are meant for the "opposite gender", all the times, yet that doesn't change their gender. What makes people transition is the dysphoria they have, which is a strong, unbereable discomfort towards their parts.
      Don't know what you've read, but scientists studied trans brains and found out the brain of a trans person is "way more similar" to the brain of their opposite sex/ the gender they know they are, and it doesn't really matter if they didn't study 1000 of them. They at least were able to give us an explenation. I don't really care how to call this or what causes this (I mean, I do care, but that's not what I'm talking about now). The point is that some people have dysphoria and it's a real thing, not an illusion, and if they don't go through HRT they might unalive themselves (I know from personal experience.) Therefore trans people exist and pretending they don't exist is just, stupid and nonsense.
      Also I call them male and female's brain, (not men and women's) for a reason.
      I know what biological sex is (if it didn't exist, just like some crazy people say, trans people wouldn't exist either)
      So my point is just, trans people (ftms and mtfs) are real as hell, always have been, since they have always existed.
      Now if you were able to find a concrete reason on why they exist, I'd be really glad to hear it. I'd love if you also found a way to cure dysphoria definetly. Like, I'd genuinely want to know if there's any way to do that
      Also don't know where you've read the criminality thing, and I'd like to read it too, but that's just funny. What causes more violence is anger right? (aside from being a bad person or just having a rough past) Testosterone makes you angrier. That's why men are more likely to commit crimes. But once a trans woman has transitioned, she's got more estrogens jn her body and is less angry (everything I'm saying varies from person to person of course). If anything you could say that their past play a big role on how they turn out, but that again wouldn't have anything to do with their gender

    • @Ed-lian
      @Ed-lian Год назад +1

      @Oblivion PTX what scientific proof that there is a female or a male brain structure.
      If that was the case then we could proof if somebody is transgender.
      But there is no such thing.
      We can't proof.
      That's why the professionals use gender affirming care.
      Everybody is selfidentifying if he or she wants to become the opposite gender legally.

    I'm a Thai gay guy. We are famous about ladyboys & gender transition since before social media but Thai people never support kids to surgery or let LGBT+ to grooming kids at school. We are only teaching kids to overcome difficulties and bully is wrong. That's it all we do. But what I can see in Western media is keeping remind LGBT+ kids that they are the victim, tell them that they are "Beautiful" no matter what they wanna be and the different opinions are toxic. This is only making more hate and wrong message about the meaning of "beautiful" when it should be about "goodness". The worse part is Thai people are starting to be woke and think the same because of social media and this is really worrying me. They are like disease that keep spreading.

      The fandom was calling him out, many even told him to love himself and to stop trying to look like jimin. Only later on when trying to get him to stop didn't work did people start "supporting" him ans that was just trolls cause no one thought he actually seriously believed this stuff anymore. Everyone thought he was just doing it for attention. One of his friends even said once that he had admitted to her that he was just doing it for attention and actually didn't like this kpop group at all.
      Honestly i think hes realised that the left is no longer giving him attention and now is trying to get attention from the other side of the political isle. Or with the lack of attention online he realised it was dumb and that he fucked up his life and is just unwilling to admit he was just doing it for attention at least at the beginning he most certainly was.

He was a great subject of mockery in kpop fandoms - which is quite a world of itself by the way, much to say about... The first time I heard about him, I obviously found him wacky, extremely cringy but as annoying and cringy as he was I always felt bad for the way people were mocking and insulting him constantly because it was oh so obvious he was struggling a lot mentally. And the backlash he faced after his "coming out as Korean" (I honestly thought he was trolling at the time..) was indeed quite hypocritical coming from the same woke mob who claim you can be x, y, z gender or God knows what. I'm no expert about South Korea but his vision of the country and its people does not seem really accurate though. Anyway, I just hope he's sincere now and feeling better.

    However, Oli makes an incredible point: “why can’t I look like a Korean, when Koreans are trying to look western?” That question spoke volumes to me. As someone who’s been listening to kpop since 2010, this has been a LONG GOING issue with Kpop artists. Tons of plastic surgery, and extreme weight loss are more than prevalent amongst artists. If you follow kpop artists for long enough, you WILL get some sort of mental illness or insecurity from it.

    "why did you want to be korean?" "what made you fall in love with their culture?" this is the same for gender btw. its a love, and admiration, a desire to be like them and be seen or treated like them. just like race, just like ethnicity, we grow feelings about this throughout life. most people healthily integrate their race into themselves even if they sometimes dont like the way theyre treated or seen based on it. some people struggle more. some people cant shake their race from their heads, think everyone is judging them or seeing them differently through the lens of their race, and to some extent thats true, some people will do that, but most people wont. some people with these struggles may even envy another race and wish to be them. wish to be a cool rapper, wish to be a pretty kpop boy, wish to be white to escape being seen as "other". this is the EXACT same for sex. some people have issues, some people have envy (based on biased perceptions), some people heal from these struggles, some dont-- and if all of society is going to play into your fantasy you have no incentive to heal. the wound stays open while living in a delusion.

      like, listen to him, he says korean people are nice and kind (not all are, this is a clear bias), he says that he found their culture beautiful, he said he was captivated by all of it (a fantasy). even in his story there was probably an underlying factor, which is falling in love with kpop boys sexually and romantically as many girls and boys do. but even if thats the foundation (as agp is the foundation for many mtf males) thats not all of it. its loving the entire culture, everything about it, its idolization, agp men do this same thing with women, and they will bolster at the claim that their desire to be women is founded in a sexual origin, because it doesnt FEEL that way... it feels like everything feels right about the opposite sex, their culture, theyre all kind, the way you want to look etc. but its all fantasy. in the exact same way. because not all women are nice, not all women are beautiful, and a man's perspctive on female culture will always be from a perspective that didnt have to grow up female with those expectations being place on him.

      @Adopt-a-Pet because people get a lot of backlash when say they say regret transitioning or they have stopped believing other woke concepts and ideologies. The fact the he is brave enough to make this public despite scrutiny especially a platform as big as his speaks volumes.

      @@delta-9969 that's a fundamental issue that I hardly ever see anybody address: this idea that somehow body and soul are completely separate. That your body is ultimately nothing more than a vessel for you soul, and that only your soul constitutes your identity. That's really not self-evident. It's Gnosticism. It's a spiritual assertion that droves of people just accept without thinking twice. And the woke left (or however else you want to summarize it) isn't consistent about it either, because as soon as we're talking about race, your body IS suddenly a huge part of your identity again. Heck to some of these people it seems to be the primary defining factor of who they are and who they're gonna associate with.
