He didn’t even believe in Brexit until he twigged he could ride the xenophobic populist wave ignited by Farage. And now a cost of living crisis brought about largely because of that deluded experiment. I’m glad to be out of it, here in Australia where democracy is in far better health largely down to the fact everyone has to vote. this is how boris operates. i tried to talk to a family member about partygate today and she said ''im sick of hearing about it now. can the country just talk about something else?'' and i'm like ''THATS LITERALLY HOW BORIS GETS AWAY WITH EVERYTHING!!!'' he drags everything out so long that people get so bored of hearing it, they cant wait to move onto something else. 'wait for the internal investigation' 3 months later 'lets wait til the police report comes out' 4 months later ''lets not judge anything until the sue gray report'' its taken half a year just for him to be forced to admit he may have done something wrong. im so glad people arent letting it go this time. too many people just want to see the end of it and thats how he wins

But as time marched on and altruism collapsed our political democracy emerged. I’m afraid that the mechanics of our system are broken. Perhaps we need something that’s truly representative such as the constancy of Referendums in Switzerland giving some credence to actually asking the public rather than arrogantly deeming that they represent them, when all our politicians represent is their next constituency majority. Somehow we need to remove some political power to return a semblance of government actually representing the entire population.
