For the couch fireman this is what its like in large rural areas. They volunteer for the community and help everyone. They are heroes and if you live in a rural community theres no greater reward than to be a volunteer firefighter
There is, a paid firefighter. To me there is no difference, otherwise, you are then saying a paid nonvolunteer firefighter is not a hero or is a lesser one.
@@jessebella9322 I'm sorry I was not real specific. I have the highest respect for all firefighters and volunteers are included in that word. When I comment I always use the word firefighters. You pointed something out that I never noticed. My use of the term couch firefighter or couch chief. That's for those people who try and point out issues on placement or speed or water on scene. I worked for a gas utility and respond to many issues they had. I have always added a comment and never thought I should specify because volunteers are firefighters. I also usually say " your a couch firefighter that lives in your mom's basement. Help your mom and switch the laundry and fold the clothes for her."
Again thank you for pointing that out. I have the greatest respect for all firefighters volunteer and paid
@@skipd9164 Arr it's ok, I'm just reacting wrong to many things, my uncle died recently and was a London firefighter, it wasn't your comment so much as my reaction and misreading things. I do not think anybody would ever say they have more respect for one than the other, so was stupid of me to even look for that here. Thanks for the nice response though and I wish you all the best, be safe out there.
@@jessebella9322 no problem and sorry about your uncle. My family comes from England. They left in 1629 2 brothers William and Richard. I don't know if your a history buff. I have always been fascinated about the ww2 air raids over london. Especially for the firefighters that went threw it. Even the axis firefighters after 1,000 plane b0mb1ng. The fires caused hurricane winds from the air feeding the fires. Firefighting back then in every part of the world was dangerous as hell. I'm glad you had a good relationship with him. Never had relationship with mine. Think about the good times
@@jessebella9322 I see your a space nut like me. When I walk at night my head is always looking up. I wouldn't see a car and my 60yrs would be over
At 4:35 I was like 'yeah I'd sound the siren and blow the horn too just for the sake of it, although theres no-one and nothing around but fields. Then I saw the ONE car coming and lo and behold it didn't yield!!!
I like some of these "en route" POV response videos... You get an idea of just how large the areas some of these fire companies serve, and how far some of them have to travel to answer a call...
Like 100 miles
I would love to see one of these evolution play out but not to see someone's house or barn burn down
Us rual guys had two sets of gear. One at station and one in our pov. Anything on way or on highway on way we used that gear and we’re first on scene. Let’s say back when we could ride on tailboard. Lol
14:35 I think the tanker driver got annoyed with the old guy yelling at him! XD
Princess Lemmy maybe
Princess Lemmy 😂😂
that or he just hated the guy very much
Princess Lemmy 😂😂😂😂
My bet is that he was on an incline, and when he put it in reverse if started backing up quickly.
Will engine 21 ever get through to command? Stay tuned.
Haha our driver never heard till the 10th time.
Great video, I aspire to be like you and your team
To Be Continued Compilation [2017]
Legend has it E21 is still waiting for a response.......
Love what you guys do when finally arrive and put water on the fire. Thank you for your service.

I'm glad to see people in my area aren't the only ones that dont stop or move over

how fast can an Engine run ? 80mph ?

That wasn't the operator, it was the old guy that walked up and started trying to help.
Einfach nur Peinlich. Drei Feuerwehrleute stehen rum, und der wahrscheinlich Betroffene von dem Brand, muss selbst den Tanker bedienen. Traurig....
Good video. I used to tie off suction foot closer to the side of the tank to help avoid cavitation during tank filling.
Love the roto-ray spinning on the front of the fire truck in the opening of the video.
Very nice driving. I especially like the smooth transition to roadways.
Good vid, a little trick I learned on priming a front suction is to crack the tank to pump and flood the tube before priming.
I like the idea!
+Blake Morgan If a D/O doesn't know that "trick" they might want to learn more.
A very good and old idea. Fill hard sleeve from tank. Operator needs to pay attention.
That side dump either works like crap or it not open all the way, should be much faster.
I live in a very rural environment with lots of winding mountain roads. Traffic is as sparse as it is in this video but with no straight aways. I set up the radios and antenna systems for the volunteer fire brigade and the local fire brigade as well.
Wow! The way he took those corners.
Smokeyo Drift 😎
finally somebody arrived and fixed that leakage
Seemed like E21 drove across three states to get to the fire....
I was thinking the same thing.
Am I the only one that pulls over for emergency vehicles?? wTF?
Is there no Law in the US for this situations? I´m from Germany, we have a Law, that says, Police, EMS, FD and so on, which are driving with lights and sirens on are having traffic right of way. I´m sorry my English isn´t the best, but do you know, what i mean?- Greetings!
Christian we have laws for this, but people nowadays only care about themselves and no one else.
Shannon Mason pshhh look at new York
Craig Arndt we do
People that have no respect for first responder vehicles are the same people that would sue the Volunteer Fire Company if the Fire Company arrived late if their home was on fire. I live in the same county that this fire occurred in, and that was a long response to assist on that fire. Well done. I think the reason it appeared as if the truck was speeding down those country roads, was a result of speeding up the replay speed on the video. I've driven some of those roads and there's no way a heavy Fire Truck would be able to make those corners and sharp turns without sliding off the road or rolling over. But I enjoyed the ride, thank you...!!! Personal note: my dad was a full time professional Fire Fighter for the City of Harrisburg, PA and he drove a Hook & Ladder truck for the Allison Hill Fire House for 24 years.
Firefighters are heroic!🚒👨🚒
There’s a special place in hell for drivers like that grey car.
Tanker 21 almost caught some bodies😂then they had the water come out the wrong direction😂😂😭
Awesome response and driving!!! That car at 4:43 needs to learn to stop and pull over!
Gray car has right of way. Fire truck has to obey traffic laws same as everybody else.
@@chrislittle3194 it’s the law to yield to emergency vehicles.
@@Joel0123454321 may be in your state, not not in ours. I'm 30 year firefighter. We must obey all traffic laws regardless of warning equipment.
@@chrislittle3194 so when a emergency vehicle with light and screaming siren is behind you, you don’t have to pull over? Wild.
@@Joel0123454321 each state has different laws i guess. We have to stop at all intersections if stop sign present, train tracks, etc. We can not go thru red lights, etc. If we have to stop for a red light, it is recommended that we turn off warning equipment, until the light changes. Luckily, most cars will yield to us, but if an accident occurs we hare held responsible.
That first tanker should have dumped its load and left instead of waiting around. Second tanker should have pulled up closer first time. Almost hit the guys while backing up and then they started dumping water from the wrong side. Comedy of errors.
That first tanker had more capacity than what the yellow container could take, so yeah it had to wait around a little bit. And man why did they let the old gentleman handle the buttons? Firefighters just stood there watching him dump water on the wrong side.
Oscar Amador probably a former chief or mayor or something. Volunteer departments tend to keep the old timers around as a sign of respect instead of putting them out to pasture. Usually they’re delegated to fire police (traffic control).
Oscar Amador The old man loses his smartness while younger ones a lazy. The fire does its job though.
not to mention them not putting the drain on the inside and placing it on the lowest end
Man, i've rode Code 3 to fires but, you guys were moving! Or, it seems that way buzzing along the fields. Got a good driver there, strong power plant too. Water looks fairly clean, not nasty pond crap.

excellent driving! using the whole rd when possible!
My best call on any emergecy respond..all the from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪 🇰🇪.I like that speed of the fire engine
I like the old guy with the orange hat telling the water truck to stop and they back up fast lol
The number of people who dont pull over for emergency vehicles amazes me.
A line of tankers ready to dump...what a beautiful thing.
morale of the story... dont have a house fire in millersburg
Ha-Ha
amen....lol..I was a city fireman for 30+ years...that was an awfully long response!! but you gotta hand it to the volunteers and rural ff's.
david mack In Russia we have a rule to have a fire-reserved ponds in a short distance. So the 1st fire engine comes comes with water in the tank and the 2nd fire engine can build water line from that pond to the fire/1st fire engine.
Is it similar in US?
Вадим Сухоруков where I work typically the first and second engines pull up the driveway and use their tank water while the 3rd due engine stays at the end of the driveway and handles water supply. Second due engine lays a supply line up the driveway.
Hes driving the hell out of that truck 😂
Lmao when he opened the driver side dump!
Superb video, and I have subscribed as well. Great stuff, great driver, had me sitting at the edge of my chair!

15:46 I laughed so hard at that old guy messing with tanker 21
Awesome response video! Gotta love the screaming Q Powercall and airhorn!
Where is Millersburg? Really beautiful country! Can't get over how flat the terrain is and straight the roads are. Not at all like eastern Tennessee. Really enjoyed the video, thanks for posting.
Millersburg PA. Thanks for watching!
0:12 Based on how much these weigh that is a hell of a acceleration!
Probably a 600hp cummins if I were a betting man.
@@uniden03229 Thanks! And a hell of a torque as well I guess.
I really liked the drive...would be great to have a helmet cam... Can't believe the lack of respect or courtesy towards emergency vehicles..
That fire truck hauled ass!!
@4:43 well someone is more important than a firetruck responding to a working structure assignment
and by the way that fire truck is flying
Keep on trucken'!
also using q siren for no reason. lol
You'd be flying to if you were 19 yrs old and 3rd time behind the wheel.
they are only going around 50 maybe 60 mph

That engine sure is flying.

Lmao when the water came out behind them 😂💀
30 plus years in the service and there is always, repeat always, some asshole. That second taker driver needs either more training or to calm down a lot.
i was enjoying watching the tankers, should have let that go longer
4:42 Gray car!! WTF!!
Acceleration of that truck is phenomenal. Some guy has been messing with the governor!!!!!
It’s lens placement and configuration, that truck is doing about 50mph
LOVE the Roto Ray!
Awesome vid. keep em coming!
Who didn't see the rear dump coming on the second tanker? Great communication and safety at second tanker positioning, not to mention of awareness by that driver, geez two dead geezers at refill station not gonna help anybody.
Somebody's need some more trainings, lucy.
Older members will be older members..
Most of the time the older members have FORGOTTEN more than the younger menders know! Problem is the younger ones "know everything" so they don't need to listen to anyone! That's where the problems start!
I wonder what is up with the tanker. they allow a civilian to operate the water chute and they had no idea what side the water was going to come out on
Skankpronger the man choose to have the water go out on the left side instead the right side were that pool is into the firefighters stop him
was a simple mistake, by a long-time operator
@@CM-xr9oq not a simple mistake when there should be no room for error in a situation like a fire
Shame Please find me a fire scene where everything goes perfect.... I'll wait
This is what happens when volunteers are to busy doing other things on training night. It wasn't a big deal. But this is what can happen when you only have a fire about once a year. You forget things.
Favorite combo... Powercall and Federal Siren
Can someone please explain to me what that spiny thing in the front of the truck is? Does it make sound or measure speed or it's just there to look cool
TheMusic215 so its just lights..
It’s a roto Ray
It's called a roto-ray. It is a nostalgic piece of history, that still meets the guidelines of an approved warning device. The law (in Michigan) requires emergency vehicles to have at least one red, warning light, affixed to the vehicle that spins, rotates, flashes or oscillates for 360 degrees around the vehicle, visible for 500 feet. This state may have different requirements, but they're pretty similar across the country. This light helps this dept. meet the requirements of their law. Yes, there are better ways to do this, and the folks who have commented here may not agree with this choice, but this department chose to use the roto-ray.
It is just lights
Total waste of money, they do shit for moving traffic
That thing can move!!!
jees the speed of the truck at 8:08 is impresive!
Me: scanning sky's for smoke ,engineer: drives over line ,me: ;____;
those dump tanks make a very good pool
These car drivers should know that they are required by law to pull to the side of the road (both directions) and yield to emergency vehicles. And the Dipstick making a left turn with the fire engine right behind , what a winner....
Pat & Mat in action!!
I wonder how much water they lost from the porta-tank drain running steady. Doesn't take much to tie it up and save that water. Wow, finally 13
minutes in...
i do love the sound of the trucks though
Beautiful country.
Best thing about living in country is not too much traffic.
Big area to cover for one fire department. Can I ask how many fire departments in each area? We have one fire station that covers their surrounding suburbs here in Australia. We also get extra help from the neighbouring fire station if we needed them.
Ness, generally, our rural departments have what we call Mutual Aid agreements. It's a necessity because most of our rural villages and towns can't afford more than a couple pieces of apparatus. They rely heavily on neighboring equipment to back them up.
You are a good fire fighter
nice job hands in her pocket and watch the others work
the fire guy on my water tenders we put are water shoots for or ponds on the inside of pond .. saves water from spilling out
Really cool vid.
14:36 almost killed these two old man’s 😲😳
Almost is the keyword
LOVE the ROTO RAYS
14:36 guy in orange hat almost gets ran over!!!!!
Hehe. The second tanker waa having a bad day. lol
Fix the damn drain!!!!
It wasn't until late in the video that I realized one of the clouds in the distance is what used to be the house. That's ominous right there.
It Get your blood pumping doesn’t it? At least for me it does
Second tanker in to dump too tank. Calamity waiting to happen. Guy in red cap (NO bunker gear) about gets his buns run over. Why was he behind that truck like that. That is a no brainer. The driver of the tank truck knew what he was doing. Those dang trucks are bigger than you realize and he was being very careful to not destroy a holding tank which is very expensive, let alone screw the truck up. He was doing his best to line up to dump the water SAFELY, but the guy in the red hat got things all fouled up with his hands flying all over the place. He then dumped the water on the wrong side after nearly getting run over by standing in the blind site area of the truck backing up. Obvious volunteers like I use to be, but that squad and that guy in the red cap, need to have Monday night training on the do and don'ts of the operations of the different trucks. Number one is to NOT STAND IN BLIND SIDE AREAS OF THOSE TRUCKS. DItto's on the moron that sped up on the truck as he was making his left turn. That SOB needs to be taken to the dump somewhere and be pummeled and his car used for practice with power jaws and saws, etc. For the unit that recorded this, great shot, and damn good driving. I am proud of you guys. Hip Hip, Hooray!!
Thank you for that rant jonny gage
thanks for let us ride with u
I don't know how fast our trucks will go. However, the ambulance I use to work on would do at least 12mph--of course that was in the old days when the speedometer only went to 85mph.
Roto-ray .. excellent.
OOOOPS! Water is coming out the wrong side of the Second Tanker! OH! Now they got it!
Nice Vid!! 8-)
4:42 that car should of stop wooow.
then they floor it so they have leeway so they dont have to pull to the side.
The gray car has the right of way. The fire truck has to stop for stop signs.
@@chrislittle3194 their lights are on with siren. Yeah they have to stop but the car would have to too. If car keeps going he'll have to pull over to the right so he can pass.
@@asgardgodsgaming While we take special training to drive emergency vehicles, the public does not. Our state cracked down after several emergency vehicle accidents. I've had them panic and slam on brakes when i got behind them. These electronic sirens are useless when the drivers are teenagers with music up loud. I've had them shoot across traffic trying to beat me. Tankers are the most dangerous. A few years ago there was a push to replace red lights with amber and remove sirens from tankers. In studies there was little difference in response times but safety was greatly improved. Structure burns down if water never gets to scene because of accident.
4:44 that Truck begins to join in with the car at around 110 mph!
Fastest I have seen a fire truck go since "Farenheit 451"
is it just me or did it look like this truck was going 100 mph
Nice avatar. :D
Very few, if any "Custom" built to NFPA standards fire engines can go over about 65 MPH due to gearing and transmission gear limitations.
Tommy Flynn nah probably 80 its a big diesel engine
Haha yeah its the fish eye lens makes the FOV look funky
New Jersey Bill makes sense. Seems like acceleration is more of a concern than outright top speed
Do every firehouse decide how their equipment should look like? Like the truck, what lights it should have etc.?
This is the funniest thing I have seen in along time 15 minutes in. These great old guys got it all figured out from signaling in the driver, to dumping the water on the ground...... No dis-respect !!
I miss firefighting
that engine has Noz, what boost you running on that thing?
Action starts at 8:40
Yeah Dauphin County PA. Im at Station 36 in Dauphin
this guy was atleast going 79mph, i live in the city so the fastest firetruck ive seen was going about 68 or something.
No way!., the lens makes it look like he’s doing 100 mph.
If you have this lens configuration on a bicycle it would look the same way.
Why are they using water from truck to yellow pool to the fire?
Lol the two old men almost got ran over which was funny on how they reacted.
I hope the guy at 4:30 hits something and needs a firetruck to come and see how important first response is
You tiresome first-responding fat-load clowns just whine and whine when anyone with a brain says something even slightly critical. Jus' because ya' get ya' jollies riding big shiny trucks with sirens and wear ridiculous fire gear doesn't make ya' pros. Wanna see pros?
