If I have a bad popping in the sub amp when I kill the radio (due to a bad rca run I think), if I turn the amp knob to zero first, it won't do it. But I had two brand new Soundqubed HDX3 12's sitting in the trunk free air playing 20Hz on a loop at very low volume. 10 on the radio (which goes to 40 I think), 45% on the amp knob and they were just wiggling a little getting ready for the box that's being built. Well, I forgot and it popped loud. I instantly smelled the burning smell. I'm panicking so hard that I can't hardly think straight. I turned them on and they seem fine but after an hour, the smell is only about half gone. Did I damage them or is it impossible to know? Lastly, the amp is an XTR2500.1 that has the actual gain at about 55%, the crossover at 80Hz and everything else is at zero.
daniel powell doin that shit. his shopis J.E.C.A.R. audio close to dallas texas, hellafied nice guy, always down to answer questions just to help the hobby. also did JP's tahoe awhile back. check his shop out on facebook.
Truth be told, most people don't get this hobby. It's no different than building a Honda race car, or a classic hot rod. We who are into it understand and that's all that matters.
There's no such thing as a Laquer varnish. It's either you use Laquer finish or a Varnish for a finish. But that's not what he used on that wood. He used and epoxy clear coat like they use on the countertops with that new finish they came out with a few years ago. Like Giani or Rust O Leum finishes for Countertops. You paint first then use the Epoxy clear coat to finish it off and it's hard as a rock and won't chip either. I'll bet he used that Epoxy clear coat. By the way I'm a painter for 21years now so I can tell.
Jeff Froment Well.... I apologise for forgetting to use the " / " symbol between the words " laquer " and " varnish " and yes I agree it must be epoxy, but I was so blown away having just seen the finish, that word escaped me. Sorry about that 👍
FINALLY!!!!!! Something diffrent and not the norm. This guy has his shit together. Nice install and attention to detail. Never thought this day would come
Great video !!! that was me in the orange shirt filming the first build ! that wood work is amazing and it was very windy ! dang near took my hat off outside the truck ! my favorite bass is 10-65hz lol , your videos have inspired me to do better editing with my own videos ! keep up the good work !
I'm 45 years old loved car audio since early 90's the 1500 Chevy is the coolest thing I ever seen.Beautiful wood work !EXO as always you do a great job and your positivity is highly admirable never stop brother.;)
So much time went into this! Talk about total dedication, the most valuable resource that went into this is time. I am a very good fabricator and I know how much time it takes to do things properly when it comes to custom. Anyone can slap something together but it takes a special kind of person to do something right and this guy did it. Thanks for this video EXO
You are correct either you get it or you don't I'm 45 years old and I've been a bass enthusiast my whole life I've had well over a dozen stereos in my life time don't listen to the haters just listen to the bass😊😊😊😊 I don't ever seeing myself stopping and you shouldn't either keep making awesome videos and people like us will keep making car trucks with bad ass stereos and maybe we can influence the next generation!!!!! 😊😊😊😊
I try telling my dad and family the samething. It's for the fun of it. It's a hobby that we love just like other people. It's not for everyone. I don't judge anyone else for what they love.
Sweet set up on that scrap wood wow nice way to wrap things up EXO great way not to feed into the negativity of other people's comments that just simply cannot understand unless they experience it
Crossfire 8K's strike again! That build was bananas!... I don't remember the last time I seen EXO tap out, but that thing was pretty insane so I can't blame him!? What a great video! Keep it up EXO we love you out here in PA!
Your editing in this video is great. I typically play dubstep/EDM. Deviance by Excision and Datsik was my go to demo song for a long time. Great bass in that song. Mastubs War has a nice range as well. Keep up the good work man. You're one of the people in car audio keepimg me inspired.
The most impressive CLEAN SPL setup i have ever seen!!! The idea of that guy to have SMOOTH CLEARED SURFACES is one of the key to keep dB from being converted to turbulence and heat!! Awsome
My name is Dutch I’m a very big fan of what you do and how you do it. I don’t understand why everybody is running such big sub Wolfers anymore. I’ve done this my whole life and I’ve hit 162 with one woofer. It seems like people spend money and buy stuff without reading and learning. I’m fixing to do a convertible. People say it can’t be done. but, I will be in the 160s without a doubt. Good to see you keep up the nice work
What a absolutely amazing looking build. That truck looks insane. Thanks for sharing your videos EXO. I also love the fact that he knows everything about his build. This was built not bought.
Incredible video exo! You just made me feel much more comfortable with the fact that I too also struggle in 160+ cars and go through all sorts of hell! Most people online don’t seem to understand what high notes at that kinda DB are like... painful as hell! Loved the editing too and when it goes ‘it was at this point he knew he f***** up’ I smiled so much when I saw that! Loved the comment reading section at the end too! You’re a true inspiration buddy! Thanks so much for keeping me going!
You shouldn't have to explain why it sounds that way Exo, a true bass head understands. It seems to me the ones who comment regarding it sounding like crap haven't really experienced a vehicle sound system to this degree or not even close to what we see in this video. Nice work Exo, keep it up.
Dude. Not every one is gunna like loud crazy car audio. Not every one likes the same food or theme park rides etc. Im just glad there are a lot that do like it. And my fave music is any thing that hits between 25hz and 35hz. Im running 800 watts to 2 15's. Upgrading soon to 1500 watts on 1 18". Keep bumping.
That Chevy is B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!! I have always loved the look of wooden furniture, and floors. Hell...I love anything made with wood when it is done right. 👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿🇺🇸🇮🇱🇺🇸🤘🏿🤘🏾🤘🏽🤘🏼🤘🏻
First year I haven't went to STC in like 10 years... Really wish I would've now. That woodwork looks crazy on video, can't imagine in person. And looks painful!
Exo I've watched basically all your videos and honestly I enjoyed them all and also I've learned a bit I've been doing car audio for about 25 years off and on but you have given me inspiration but I have had an idea of where I want this particular system to be but I do enjoy all you do thank you keep up the great work
I was going to ask about what sort of music people played for this stuff. The fact is, most EDM cuts off bass below 30Hz completely, if not a bit higher cutting off anything below 50Hz. The reason for this is to maximize loudness everywhere else. These frequencies can hold an entire mix down, especially when 90% of people listen to music on earbuds or headphones. Even in clubs, going down to 50Hz and not below is pretty acceptable. That said, there is a movement to put some of those low frequencies back. Some Gabber (an underrated Bass genre in North America but I'm sure you've heard a bit of when you were in Europe, listen to Blaster & Sandy Warez - Psystep [bass is stressed in the sub 50 range so most home speakers won't pick it up]) and some Psytech/Psytrance/GoaTrance (listen to Crazy Astronaut - Daydrmz [can be heard on many systems but the low freqs you can't hear are stuff you can in a car setup) are embracing those low frequencies. As I understand it, some of the music played at these shows are slowed down, and this is for the reasons I stated above. It gets the music down to those floor shaking frequencies where they are cut off at normal playback speeds. The genres that I mentioned that are embracing those frequencies are doing so without needing to be slowed down. It does affect the entire mix (with the rest sounding a bit quieter for folks with headphones) but will sound great in a car or home theater setup.
It was great meeting you at slamology. My kids liked meeting you too lol. They were asking if you're coming over and hanging out. I was like nah he is busy and lives in a different state. Keep up the great work.
These videos are always excellent stuff to see. Those facial expressions though, it takes it to a whole different place that keeps me laughing and wanting to see more.
love the videos ! cant believe how much as advanced since the 1980 -2003 !! i still have a old Orion dat/fm mod , with disc changer , it was the era that it was going to be DAT or CD . CD finally won
I love car audio and if I didnt have subs and stuff and stuck with a stock system. I would be alot less happy. With a system I am always smiling while I'm going down the road. Keep the videos coming man.
Wish I could have ran into you in Indy. I love your enthusiasm with everything from an exquisite build like that to just a normal slot port in a trunk. As far as music I don't care as long as it bumps but I can sit for hours looking at "rebassed" songs.
GunzNButter86 here and I just wanted to give a shout-out to the man of the channel EXO!!!!!!!!! And to say to keep making your videos!!!!!!!!!!! Cause they're packed with knowledge and ideas that have been helping out the Bass Head community for the past DECADE!!!!!! yes the past 10 years!!!!!!!!! So keep it up EXO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That woodwork in that build is amazing! That's the most beautiful SPL set up I have ever seen. My favorite type of bass heavy music is EDM. Much love 💜
Awesome builds people don't understand truly how much work is involved in these builds and also if you haven't been to a bass event you won't understand what it sounds like
It's so hard to describe what it's like to people The closest thing I can kind of related to Is a rollercoaster Ride!!! That first build was crazy clean and looks amazing. Love your vids man. They’re always fun to watch. Keep up the good work. But as for me I like rap and hip hop bass. But all bass is fun
AMAZING CRAFTSMANSHIP.... BRUTAL BASS DEMO!!!
EXOcontralto great video what do you think about bang & olufsen

That cedar wood build. That's is my favorite build ever. I love wood working, that was just gorgeous. Thanks for showing that build.
It's probably one of the most solid builds any of us has ever seen too. That cedar is tough shit.
@@Thezuule1 better for sound output aswel when built correct
Truth be told, most people don't get this hobby. It's no different than building a Honda race car, or a classic hot rod. We who are into it understand and that's all that matters.
Most people don't want to damage their car and ears and look at a number on a screen... That could be a reason why people don't understand this hobby.
Holy Mother!
The laquer varnish finish on that first rig... Beautiful craftsmanship.

EXO, I like everything about this video. Way to be classy, and set a positive example.
That is a clean build I love it. It seems like there's hardly any vibration from the car with all that wood. It's got to be nice
That first demo has got to be one of my favorite builds ive seen, custom cedar dash was amazing!!

Another awesome video exo that was a beast setup keep bringing that bass.
1:40 those milled alternator casings are beautiful.

When are you coming out with the EXO subwoofer??!!
I love the 25 to 40 range. Wish I could get a rotary sub to get some to those real low lows
Damn that is badass!!!! On my top list of most beautiful builds....
Tyga style bass
Solamente algunas cosas están echas para gente espesificamente.
Hi...nice Subwoofer...😊😉😍
Wow that first setup must've been something, I don't think I've ever seen EXO tap out before!!
Ah new content
that first truck was BADASS!!!! can't wait to get my JEEP banging, doing a budget build
Hey bro..I like how you help those who doesn't understand car audio...."come and join the dark side"...😄.
very proud of you!

I love dubstep on big setups. Bass sweeps are my favorite in any type of music tho.
Exo!!!!! That truck is incredible Gut wrenching!!
one of the most relaxing demos ive ever had
I used to be into really low bass. But somehow in the last few years I went to like the higher stuff, those songs that really hit your chest 😀
What an amazing build! Thx lots for showing us this EXO!
met this dude at scrapin the coast... was cool. 20 bucks blew out of his pocket from his system. I picked up his hat and 20 and gave it back to him.
That's my brother's budy hes been sending me build vids the while time he was building it. Sweet setup
In my opinion new hip-hop, trap and rap have the best and the fatest bass! Other music genres with the famous 808 basses are sick too. 808s are the way to go if you want the maximum flex from any subs. Period
Thats a helluva unique and definitely loud build props all the way around
Holy shit. First time I seen you tap out Exo. That must have been brutal
Incredible build with dd,crossfire and dc elite audio.super nice build!
I just got a demo of this car this weekend best demo car I’ve ever seen and the most beautiful
Legendary504 dude me too at scrappin. It was brutal
You was at scraping the coast??
I listen to rap, dubstep, trap and any kind of decaf!
That setup looks AMAZING. And, it must slam if it makes EXO tap so quickly. It looked painful but amazing.... Mmmm Bass
Daniel Powell's truck was a wicked demo at Slam. My wife's first demo.(her only demo)
Super nice build cool guy too.
Theres just something about watching EXO experience Joy and pain at the same time...
I can't even handle much past 115db, so I can't imagine 160+, my ears would implode.
That first build was crazy clean and looks amazing. Love your vids man. They’re always fun to watch. Keep up the good work. But as for me I like rap and hip hop bass. But all bass is fun
The music creators "Devilish trio" has some really heavy hitting bass
Love Daniel's build man! Absolutely stunning!!! Xx
I got a demo from a Daniel a few years back in a black Tahoe at a Sundown show. All Sundown equipment. Same guy, different vehicle?
