Really enjoyed this vlog and learned something new about keeping weed. I'm 46 and love old tackle and books which have been well-preserved. My favourite drummer rod is a rod I saved up for and bought ($ 120 - back then that was a lot of money) when I was 13. I've had it refitted a few times but the blank has never let me down and using simple techniques passed down to me by some of the old timers and trusty Maxima Ultra Green mono, I have caught a stack of nice fish (drummer up to 9lbs, jew, tarwhine to 45 cm etc) from shallow cunje infested water which many 'young guns' with their expensive braids told me was fishless and a waste of time. They have skipped too many steps and could learn a lot from those time-proven basic techniques and the writings of some of old Aussie legends like Frank Marshall, who in his book from 1974 and a whole chapter devoted to Eastern Rock Blackfish, 'Let's Go Rock Fishing', writes about his best drummer on 19 lb line, a beast of 16 lbs!!
I was down at the rocks collecting cunji this morning, thinking Ed hasn't done a video ina while. I came home for lunch, pulled up you tube and there you are. Thanks for another great video
Thanks for the tip I can understand the need to preserve weed as it is difficult to come by at comes, can I ask when you wrap the newspaper around the weed is the weed already wet or did you wet the newspaper? cheers
I roll the weed in the newspaper and then step on it to squeeze the water out of it. I do that a couple of times and then wrap it in fresh newspaper and then put it in the freezer.

I wonder if you can dry it?? I collected some for fertiliser and dried it. Just found it a year later.
Don't know never tried.
Thanks for looking after the environment whoever toss that bike in 😡
Yeh, I wasn't to happy about that either. The good thing is that it was removed and is no longer there.
I’m sure there are a lot of disappointed people right now thinking the title meant something else.
Lol...are you one of them?...😆
