The Titan Fitness Plate Loadable Lat Tower V2 is the budget-friendly version of the weight stack lat pulldown we've reviewed in the past. The big differences are the fact that you can use the weight plates you already use on your barbells, on the pulldown. In addition, it's about 60% less.
After using the Plate Loadable Lat Tower from Titan over the course of 2 months in my home gym for pulldowns, low rows, and arm work, I've grown to think it's a good option for those on a budget. It's not as high of quality as their weight stack version, the Rogue Slinger, or the REP Fitness Lat Pulldown, but it's one of the best values when you consider the price, WITH free shipping.

Bought this lat pull down from Titan during Covid lockdown and while it isn’t perfect it really gets the job done! You can do a ton of back, bicep, and tricep work that you can’t do without a cable machine. The price and flexibility make this a home gym star!!
Mine isn’t smooth. Like it pauses at the end and holds itself. Is yours like that?
@martin_wood it sounds like one of your rods may have a slight bend. Call titan and order 2 rods and replace them. It should not stick at all
I smell a video coming soon, if titan fitness lat weight plate machine will actually hold 500lb
They should test to see if it holds 500 lbs
@@Abc-to9xy exactly 💯
It does plus more. I tried 🤓
@@Abc-to9xy why 500?
Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.
Wow. The fact that you can do lat pulldowns, rows, facepulls, bicep, and tricep (and more) all in one makes this great. Definitely putting it on my wish list
FWIW a suspension trainer (TRX) is excellent for accessory pulling movements like face pulls and curls and can also do some triceps stuff (French press aka overhead triceps extension) and lots of other stuff for under $100 and it fits in your carry on.
@@GeorgeLockeMeh. Can’t load it with weights for a progressive load though
@@aaronlloyd6905 you can wear a weighted backpack, and you can vary the angles. It's pretty easy to increase load up to a point. If you're very strong, it becomes impractical, i guess.
love this honest and unbiased review. I totally think it's worth the price
Been waiting for this one 👌🏼
Love the "REP fitness" shirt while reviewing Titan products.
*I bought the Titan weight stack lat tower yesterday. I keep the link in my bookmarks and check it 30,000 times a day, for the last several months. It came into stock yesterday and I caught it early in the morning and snagged one. Sold out in a few hours.*
got this in 2019, can confirm: its amazing.
Your muscles aren't amazing Coop, they're impeccable.
Another great review as usual. Hey you should do a review Elite FTS’s plate loaded Lat Pulldown too. We all know you love reviewing crazy expensive equipment some of us broke people can’t afford 🤷🏿♂️
I've recently invested in a very basic home gym and I love it! I set goals and buy new shit everytime I reach those goals, and I am looking in to some cable machines since I miss those from the ordinary gym. So I would love a more detailed comparising with different cable machines.
BTW your physique is great Coop. I think that thick mustache is taking alot of attention away from the general physique making people miss those insane gains. Love from Sweden my man!
Out of context quote - "But I worry that guys that... have much smaller muscles than me would have difficulty..." I got a kick out of that 🤘
Bigger torsos but smaller muscles 🤣
Soo happy I bought this before he did a review. I love it for lat and rows. Have a cable machine so I don't do curls on it
Thanks Coop, bought it! You were dead on!
Great review! Can you review the cable crossover from either titan or valor fitness. I feel that it can do same as the stand alone pulldown machine plus more. What are your thoughts?
A side by side comparison of the loadable lat pull down and the weight stack lat pull down would be great. Thanks Coop.
I don’t mind and like going to a commercial gym but this channel makes me want to get my own home gym 😂😂
I’m so jealous of the free motion machine in the background…one day coop one day! 😂
Just bought Titan’s plate loaded functional trainer. So far super happy with it.
I was able to get the XMark lat pull/row about 7-8 months ago and really enjoy it. You can use standard or oly plates, comes with better accessories, and I think it's a little more compact.
Does that one run smoothly? Pulleys I mean.
@@pinkypromise111 it works great for lat pulldowns but for low rows it’s terrible I’ve owned it for 4 years and it’s still holding up
The way coop so causally slides in comments like "500;b for tricep kickbacks" will always get a laugh out of me 😂👏👏👏
No garage gyms guy, your muscles ARE amazing.
Been a great machine for 2 yrs now. No issues with it
if rogue would make something for there racks instead of the garbage slinger
Coop has been making them gains!!! 💪
Finally!
Thank you!
Yeah, coop definitely made gains. Both of those gains 😂
I have one of these. I have yet to really put it through its paces. However, my first impressions are: it moves smoothly, the metal is solid the instructions and assembly are easy, and it feels like a solid well made piece. I have had a couple of the much cheaper amazon weird ones, and while they got the job done this one is better.
COOP DON'T TALK NO POOP!!!
I grabbed a titan lat pull last september and it's been great. Definitely recommend
It definitely gets the job done.
If you have get one of these, spray the chrome post rails with some silicone spray so it glides super smooth.
As always - entertaining and good review. So, Coop, I have yet to see a review on the Ironmaster lat pulldown with low row. It is compact, very mobile, and can be attached with either the small bench (under $100) Or with the super bench or super bench pro. For a home gym it’s great. We’ve been using this now for about two years, with some of the guys from the baseball team coming over to the house to work out… High school baseball team. Been holding up great. Very solid. Two caveats, You must have either the small bench or one of the super benches attached to use it, and I believe it only supports 250 pounds on the horns. However it is a great piece of equipment along with the IM2000 rack smith machine. I do plan on purchasing a full blown squat rack, but this was a great way for us to start. Anyway you can catch Lee Priest Using it and showing all the things you can do on RUclips. Hope to see a review soon. Keep up the good work! Cheers
yes, this! would like to see a comparison of titan and ironmaster
If you bolt the machine to the ground you can make the seat easily removable and use it as a belt squat also.
Perfect. The price is right and it's Titan. thanks for this.
Welcome 👍
Definitely grabs my interest. However, I just can't get over the Rogue slinger. With the solo pulley attachment, it can function as a lat pulldown/low row as well as cable tower. The plate loaded option from Rogue sorta stinks, but for me, the added versatility, as well as a smaller footprint (technically none), out weighs the inconvenience of loading/unloading the pin. One day I will be able to afford a weight stack for it 🤣
Nice! Ad a chain, a few carabiners and a snatch block and you got yourself an adjustable pulley on the cheap.
DIY, always a great option.
your muscles are amazing
I have it and I love it.
I bought the XMark version of this machine. Really impressed with the quality. (2x3 11 gauge steel, knurled attachment bars, etc.). I notice Deltech Fitness now offers a Lat Pull/Low Row with a Chest Fly (Model DF930). I’d like to see a review of that model as I haven’t seen that offering from any other companies.
Wow, that is packing a lot of depth for whay it is. The old cable machine I have is 62 inches deep but it has a pulldown, chest press, leg extension, a stair stepper, dip bar and a weight stack.
The disappointment in Coops voice when he says "I'm 5'9"" 🤣🤣
I love mine, I use it for flies, triceps, curls, shrugs, leg movements etc. no complaints.
How do you set it up for flyes?
What leg movements are possibly doing with this?? I swear, home gym owners are more creative than professional artists!
I've had this for about 6 months. The weight has to be distributed pretty evenly or the horns will drag/ lock when coming back down. Also, I had a carabiner at the bottom snap, throwing my buddy off the seat. Also, curls are nearly impossible if you don't weigh/ bolt the front down. All that said, it's great for rows/lat pulldowns and would recommend it
All but 1 of the carabiners on mine snapped, I replaced them all with heavy duty ones and no issues anymore
@@mikehayman7661 did you replaced the pulleys as well?
Are you planning doing a review on the Fringe Sport bench you have in the back? Thinking of buying from them in the near future
With the mention of lower clearance, would love a measurement from seat to handle for us taller guys. Thanks!
You’re totally right about the height. I’m 6.5, and bought something very similar to this, and can’t get a full stretch. I have to use a separate bench and sit further back, it isn’t great though because I have nowhere to lock my knees at higher weights.
The seat stays locked because the designer did not want to lose subtle attributes of a locked seating. But one can lean back and get even a better workout than the short dudes.
your muscles are amazing!!
Thank you!!
Just bought it. after seeing your recommendation.
Instead of comparing to high price how is it against similar priced options (body solid/ xmark)
This is my question as well. There are several competing products from brands that are conspicuously absent from GGR.
Thanks for the review. I don't think that I have the space for that one; how about a review of the wall mount version?
I put the rogue stainless lat pulldown bar on a similar chinsy and pretty good experience love the bar obv
I have this machine and I like it alot. For the price, it cant be beat.
For the price this is an excellent machine. Love mine
Hey, Coop -- thanks for providing this critique of the Titan plate loadable lat pulldown machine. I was wondering if you could do another video comparing this stand alone Titan lat machine versus the Titan T-2 series plate loadable lat power rack attachment? I ask because I am wondering because the T-2 series plate loadable attachment is only $250 which is much more budget friendly than the $470 stand alone machine. But I am wondering how easy is it to assemble the attachment to the existing power rack? How smooth and stable is the weight lifting experience using the attachment and how does it compare to the stand alone machine? Etc...
I have a UK alternative to one of these and find it absolutely spot on. I’ve recommended it to a few people now who all rave about it.
You can use the low row for belt squats if you stand on some deadlift blocks and attach the cable to a dip belt.
Hi there, what is the UK version brand? Thanks in advance
@@jamesarnoldwba1 Hi, the brand is Gym Master and can be found on amazon, Hardcastle also sell a white version.
Bro I been looking so much for a lat pull down
what are you talking about your muscles are amazing. That's the only reason I watch this. Also whats that black thing attached to your tri?
The UPS joke was fire 🔥 hahaha
your muscles ARE amazing
I see that hoop, let's see some sick dunks in those kung-fu shoes.
I can't give away all my secret moves! 😂
Face it Brandon, you're built like a 5th grader.
Hoopin' coop!
@@GarageGymReviews can't dunk on it 'til the rim is knurled :-P
I have one of these for the last several months. Its built great and is really easy to put together. I love it and I like how I can use my own weight without having to pay for weight stack
Absolutely, plated load gives that convince.
@@GarageGymReviews hey really like your videos. They’ve helped me decide on an air bike recently. Think I’m going with the raptor. For this product, titan says they recommended bolting it down. I don’t do crazy weight amounts but bolting down isn’t an option for me. Do you feel bolting it down is necessary?
10:53 - That’s the EXACT model of lat pulldown bar that Rep Fitness sends you with their Lat Pulldown addition for their top-of-the-line PR-5000V2!! LMAO!!
If you buy it make sure you have a 5/8 ratchet. And a step stool or small step ladder. Also, I did assemble it by myself, but it will be much easier and quicker to have an extra pair of hands.
First. good stuff Coop!
Coop! First, thank you. You've inspired me to live a healthier, stronger life. I'm interested in the Titan LAT TOWER TALL RACK ATTACHMENT (for X-2, X-3, AND T-3)... Do you know if it will fit my Monster Lite? I can't find the info anywhere. thank you!
4:45
I saw you slip in that jab 😂
I have a titan lat pull down on my rack and I like it. Keep it greased and it’s nice and smooth.
Are you gonna be reviewing the Lu Xiaojun Bumpers soon? I saw it in the preview for this video. I'm debating between them and fringesports's bumpers
got this a month ago definitely worth
3:08 We can see the resemblance of some miniscule deltoid development. Good job Coop!
Happened to pause at exactly 3:11 to answer a TOTALLY NOT WORK RELATED CHAT MESSAGE DURING THE WORKDAY. Turned back to see Coop's face. lmfao
Hey coop can you do a review on a leg press/hack squat combo? Titan has one
I have the V1 and have had to replace the cables twice because the outer wrapping peeled off with regular use. It is kept in the garage. Hopefully the wrapping on the cables on the V2 are built better as to fix this problem.
can you please do a review on rogue lat pulldown attachment for their monster power racks. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST MORE SO AN ORDER
Can you review/comparison of the accessory lat pull downs on the budget racks such as the 1000 series from rep, the titan t3 attachment and the Amazon fitness reality lat pull down attachment?
Request a review of the rack-mounted Surplus Strength Universal Pulley System
12:25 gave me a chuckle lol
Hi coops!
Just a quick question what Greece or oil do you use for your gym gym equipment like Smith machines
I saw the prices going up and snagged one of these for $420. (heh) Still sitting in my garage in the box. Need to get rid of my project Studebaker I never got started on to make room. Also need to let my shoulder heal that I dislocated so hopefully I can do lat pull downs...
Hey Coop. The Domyos Rack 900 comes with a plate loadable lat tower, could you review that one!!?
It costs around 850 dollars, it's a full power rack and has a lat pulldown plate loaded on its back! For your international audience pleeeaaase check it out!
European, right? Domyos is a Decathlon asociate
I came for the review.... I stayed for the humor 😁
If you had a power rack you can use the side safety bars they sell and use wide belts that are monster bands wrapped thru to hold you in place when you use 125#s
Am I the only one that caught the “500 lbs for tricep kickbacks” ? Lol
Coop you dawg
y'all need to do the plate loaded functional trainer!
I mean, weight stacks make sense in a public gym, where resistance gets changed a lot lot, but in a home gym?
I'm seriously considering buying this but I'm about 6'5" with long legs but short torso. Do you think this would work for me? Thanks for another great video!
Coop,
Just bought a used one of these that is in fantastic shape, but it doesn't seem to glide all that smoothly as if there is some traction somewhere. Have you found this to be typical of the machine or is there something I can lubricate to get things running smoothly again?
I just attached spotter arms pointing backwards high up on my squat rack and tied two pulleys /rope/loading pin
Now I can do lat pulldowns on one side and tricep push downs on the other . And I have my regular j hooks for bench press . Nothing is in the way . 3 people could use all 3 at the same time
Such a small footprint and cheap too.
I do a “wenning warmup “ type circuit of warming up lats and triceps and lighter version of main lift . 4 sets of 25 reps each before the main lift for potentiation /fitness
Man, you are getting funnier with each videos.
The UK version of Titan is Mirafit. They make some excellent quality kit at very good pirice. Namaste x
How would you compare this piece to the Titan lat pull/ low row that bolts to the back of the rack?
I'm guessing they would use the same guide rod and weight horn system. That would keep tooling costs down.
Coop, you using a CGM? Is that for specific health issues, or for targeting improvement in health/performance? What other biohacking do you do?
Hey Coop! I couldn't find it but is there a review on the Titan Wall Mount Lat Pull down V3?! Space is an issue and the swinging from the pullup mounted system drives me nuts.
Do you ever review Force USA equipment?
You should do the Amazon Basics one
Who wants to see a review of the plate loadable Titan Functional Trainer?
Can’t find a whole lot of info on it. But looks great.
Please review the Inspire FTX functional trainer.
Coop. Can you review the plate loaded cable cross over. Titan do one but there is also a model by Men’s Health and Pro Fitness. Super cheap but is it worth it 🤷♂️
Pleaaassee do a video over Titan's chest supported plate loaded T bar row machine.
3:22
Thumbs up for Phill
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you think you can add a weight stack? This one is different because it has the two posts as opposed to a single middle post
Cool, but how did it do during the drop test?
