This was a very informative review on this piece of equipment from Titan Fitness. Titan Fitness's prices are affordable and I have no complaints on the quality for what I've bought so far.
I just purchased a plate loaded lat machine from Williams Strength. After watching this well done/thorough review I'm even more pleased with my decision.
@@TheKurtlocker I just picked it up on Friday and received a really nice tour of their facility. Impressed with everything I saw. The machine is very smooth - even if you have an extra 45 lb plate on one side of the weight carriage it still feels frictionless sliding up the 3x3 rear post. The footplate for rows removes with just a pin which I really like and the seat and leg pads feel to be the same material that I have on my Thompson Fat pad bench from Rogue (super grippy). I upgraded to machined aluminum pulleys that I inquired about since they use them on their top of the line selectorized machines.
Just placed a backorder for mine! super pumped for it. would've loved the weight-stack version, but at 3x the cost of this guy plus being out of stock, i'm still happy with my purchase. I've bought into titan fitness about 5 years ago when their quality wasn't that good but did the job type thing especially for the budget. I hear they've since improved the quality in their products
I stopped buying titan a little over a year ago since I’d get so many pieces missing and I’d have large equipment taking up space and not being used. Word is they have gotten better so i pulled the trigger on one of these today hope it works 🙏
Titan Fitness has improved with their shipping. I’ve ordered 2 machines that contain a lot of parts and both machines showed up in good condition and had all parts.
Great video as always, but went the way of the rogue slinger/seat attach/35” short arm trolley combo( between uprights) and footprint even smaller and......looks cool on my RML 690
Great review. I completely agree with the band peg idea. I have this as well and have been thinking of ways to add bands into the equation. One thing I noticed is that you have your seat on backwards. Is there a reason you did it that way? Thanks!
I only had the carabiner break because the slack I had in the cable allowed the carabiner to rotate so that it was pulling between the gate and the back of the carabiner instead of the top abs bottom.
By diy I mean I have the skills to actually drill and weld together a lat tower, I just have no idea about the pulley system to be able to have a hight and low at the same time
It probably couldn’t hurt at all as long as you keep it to a Minimal amount. Too much and you’ll begin to accumulate chalk and grime on the parts that you want to move freely
Thanks for the vid! I've been debating this machine but I already have the inspire FTX from Costco. Im only 5-7 but I definitely have to sit on the floor to be able to do a good pull down with full ROM. It's a little awkward and you can't anchor your legs. I feel like I'd rather dedicate the space to something like a reverse hyper or belt squat than this but those are either more dedicated or more expensive. What do you think? Is this a worthy upgrade over with a functional trainer already in the gym?
I personally find functional trainers less than optimal unless you can get a quality, fully functioning one that are often far too large. I think this loadable Lat tower is good quality for the price. Probably the best value per dollar for cable machines.
@@TheKurtlocker normally I'd agree on the Trainers but this one from Costco is good. Especially for my home gym where I'm the tallest person. No frills but great for the price with shipping and a lifetime warranty.
@@TheKurtlocker I really want to try DIYing it to my Titan X3 rack using pulleys but I'd love to get the squatmax you reviewed. It looks awesome. Did you consider the heavy duty lat pull down with weight stack over this one?
I have considered both but the price difference is pretty large. The one with the weight stack looks more heavy duty. Madman Powerlifting has a video on it
Great vid bro by any chance do you have any recommendations/review for a peck deck Machine or cable attachment that would be greatly appreciated and thank you.
I don’t necessarily have a recommendation for a pec deck. I have seen some cool attachments for benches that have a decline roller attachment point though. I’ve just never used one
Nothing wrong with that. I used to have terrible experiences with Titan, but they seemed to have really turned up their stuff. When it comes to made in USA, Williams strength has a good option. You can get it on elite FTS’ website
Honestly in my opinion lat pull downs are the biggest waste of money I see in the home gym community. Even the 300lb selectorized Titan one for like 1k seems expensive when this is less than half. Not arguing that the selectorized style isn’t a bit better but for movements like lat pull downs which are typically heavy, the load is heavy enough that you can’t feel the difference between a “good” or not as good cable set up. Even cables that “stick” you don’t really feel that once you load say 50+ pounds to it.. I would 100% buy this before spending a ridiculous amount of money on a lat pull down, the cable only moves one direction. Spend that money elsewhere and get something like this 🤷🏻♂️. Good review
Good job. Thanks for posting
Thank you for watching
Your videos help me convince my girlfriend that we need more gym equipment lol. Thanks as always!
I’m always happy to be of service! Ha. Thank you for watching
I got mine about a month ago and I absolutely love it!
It’s a solid piece!

Have you received the Williams Strength one?

Sounds like it’s top notch! That’s awesome that you got a tour.
just looked up williams strength and it looks to be way more expensive and for a gym setting..kind of unfair to compare the 2.
I only compare the two because of the design. The Williams strength one is similar

They’ve definitely stepped up their game. For the money, this is hard to beat
Very solid review as always! Hoping to add this or similar to my garage gym in the near future!
That sounds exciting! I’m excited for your addition
A really great review. Excellent. Appreciate it.
Thank you!

I was in a similar situation with them a couple years ago. I would say the pandemic forced them to improve a little. Just my opinion
I wonder how much anxiety you had waiting for this product to arrive and to actually be pleased by titan lol
The level of anxiety seems to drop less and less
Titan Fitness has improved with their shipping. I’ve ordered 2 machines that contain a lot of parts and both machines showed up in good condition and had all parts.
They’re getting a lot better all around
I've ordered $1800 thru them and haven't had any damage, all boxes look good and over protected with tons of dense styrofoam.
Titan has really improved their packaging game
Great video as always, but went the way of the rogue slinger/seat attach/35” short arm trolley combo( between uprights) and footprint even smaller and......looks cool on my RML 690
I’m super into that look as Well. I’m very interested in testing that system out
Great review. It may be the camera angle but the seat looks backwards.
Thank you for watching. I’ll definitely go and check it out
been in my shopping cart a few days..just waiting on Mr Stimulus
Ha. I bet they’re all gone immediately
Great review. I completely agree with the band peg idea. I have this as well and have been thinking of ways to add bands into the equation. One thing I noticed is that you have your seat on backwards. Is there a reason you did it that way? Thanks!
Just an error with the sub par instructions. Thanks for the catch
Great video I’m on the fence thinking about getting the one that go’s in the rack
I’ve never tested one but they don’t seem terrible
looks like the better option would be the T 3 rack with the lat pulldown
For some that would be an amazing purchase. For me that works less because of my rack mounted reverse hyper
Hey I was wondering what is the pull ratio? is it Pull Ratio: 1:1 or 2:1 ?
it is 2:1
Thanks man. I need the drawing with dimensions for this machine
I don’t have the machine anymore to provide that but I imagine that titan should have some rough dimensions at the least
@@TheKurtlocker How can I get it
Is there a standard (1 inch) trolley that can be purchased anywhere? Or, even better, a trolley with the sleeves that allow for Olympic and standard ?
That. Is a good question.
thank you for your video review on the Titan lat pulldown V2. Have you had any issues since this video was made? Thanks again
I only had the carabiner break because the slack I had in the cable allowed the carabiner to rotate so that it was pulling between the gate and the back of the carabiner instead of the top abs bottom.
awesome review... thank you
Thank you for watching
Do you still use this or did you upgrade to something else?
Upgrading to the Surplus Strength System
Any chance you can do a video how the pully system works so I can make a DIY version 😂
I’ve been toying with the idea of a DIY video...keep an eye out
By diy I mean I have the skills to actually drill and weld together a lat tower, I just have no idea about the pulley system to be able to have a hight and low at the same time
Did you lubricate the pulleys or the slides? Several reviews recommend that.
It probably couldn’t hurt at all as long as you keep it to a Minimal amount. Too much and you’ll begin to accumulate chalk and grime on the parts that you want to move freely
Great review! Is the lat pull and the low pull both a 1:1 resistance?
Yes.
Nice review! When curling just put a couple 45's on the seat! Also before you go loading up with 400lbs, check the cable/connector capabilities!
Absolutely!

Unrelated but where did you find jeans that fit squatter's legs?
I wear wranglers and Levi’s. I usually have to buy them large and either have them altered or just wear a belt
would the cables be affected by -20 temperature?
I imagine the coating probably would but I am speculating and not speaking from experience.
Can you add a selectorized weight stack to this lat pulldown?
I’m sure that with effort you could, not I don’t know if any simple kits. You can do anything with a fabricator..

Was this small enough to not ship freight?
Yes. It arrived in several boxes.
Sooooo tall guy friendly?
The tallest guy I saw using it was 6’3” and he was doing fine

Thanks 6'4 should be ok....hopefully

awesome video
Thank you for watching
mine came with two bars..long bar and short bar.
A slight inconsistency...a Titan norm at times.
I would love a lat pulldown/low row, but I’ve never had a good experience with Titan. Plus, I’d prefer to support made in the USA.

Check out Total Strength and Speed. Just do an internet search. You’ll have to fill out a contact form.

new gym?
I’m in the middle of a move. This is my coach’s gym
My basement is too short 😓
How close is it?
81 inches
That’s definitely too close. Is it an exposed ceiling where you could position the tower between some ceiling joists?
@@TheKurtlocker sadly no but I appreciate your interest in trying to help! Just subscribed 👍
Thank you. I’ll keep an eye out for shorter variations
It's $500 now!
Still not a bad price. I would say that it’s getting near the price of a surplus strength UPS though.
Your seat is on backwards.
Thank you!
You’re not 5’10 !
You’re 5’9-1/8 with them combat boots on; and 5’7-7/8 barefoot.
5’9 ?!?!? Ha!
Try again! Your More like 5’8-1/8 with shoes on; 5’6-3/4 barefoot.
Looks like a piece of junk, to be quite frank.
From a commercial POV it definitely is not worth your time but as an affordable piece, it’s worth a look for someone who can’t afford a better unit.
