- The first member of my Ruby Dream Team has appeared after two uncatchable Pooches! I'm honestly shocked that it has taken me this long to both hunt and find my favourite starter from the entire series. I love the blue-ish green look of the shiny & the red tail really show in this generation. I couldn't be happier honestly.
Ruby is one of my favourite games in the series and as I say in the video, I have a shockingly low amount of Hoenn Pokémon in their respective games so it's about time I correct that starting with this beautiful Treecko.
I hope you're excited as much as I am to see this team come together.

I think Poonchyena is the most-failed Shiny in existence. Congrats on your Treecko!
I'm so glad I stumbled into one in a regular playthrough, it would annoy me otherwise if I gave it a go.
I think the safari zone's Pokémon are the most-failed.
You cant fail this poochyena , because there was never a chance of success to begin with. Its just funny milestone to look at, more of an experience rather than a collectible

To this day I still find it hilarious Game Freak didn’t think that allowing a Wild Pokemon players can’t catch to be Shiny right before their eyes would be an issue.

I feel like they knew but wanted to find a way to torture shiny hunters doing this hunt, they got to find some way to get a kick in, right?
They fixed it in oras so that specific poochyena you run into right after receiving your starter can never be shiny.
That's because it's not an issue.
@@GodzillaGamerITA If they didn't see an issue with it then they wouldn't have bothered to Shiny lock the Poochyena in the remakes.

Thanks but of all the hunts I've done, I'm surprised people are daunted by a Feebas of all things. You'd think after 8 shiny roamers people would think differently :P
The Feebas spot doesn't change every 24 hours in R/S/E afaik, so that would make it a normal fishing hunt once you've found it.
I luckily got mine after a few chains in Alpha Sapphire
@@syeo501 me too that was my first shiny. And what got me back into pokemon. I even do competitive pokemon now. I love oras, and 3rd gen in general

God this reminds me of when I was a kid and I didn't know what shinies were and I started ruby for the first time and for some reason in my head wanted a female Treecko for whatever reason so I reset like 3 times to get one, but then my Treecko was a weird colour and I thought I was breaking the game so I turned it off and promised my self i'd just take any gender, it was only later I found out what a shiny was...sad times
i caught a shiny skarmory in emerald and i always thought it was glitched because of the shiny stars when you use the pokemon. i had no idea there was such a thing as shiny pokemon
If it makes you feel any better I ran into a shiny oddish and accidentally put ran instead of capturing it lol
Lol dude my first ever shiny (that I can remember at least) was a shiny igglybuff from the egg you're given in crystal version at the daycare. The only difference is the swirl being green instead of red and for the longest time I didn't even notice or know shinies were a thing.... When I found out I only thought it was mildly cool (was still young), then I proceeded to find like 4 more random shinies and each time got more and more anxious about catching them.
My first shiny was a Geodude, although I didn't know what shines were I still tried to catch him cuz he looked cool. He used self-destruct first f ing turn.

GOD, I. Love. Treecko. Just like you, it's one of my favorite starters *ever* , with one of my favorite starter lines ever, and its shiny is so dang beautiful. I hope to hunt it too one day. @@lks19 Actually I traded it to a game that has a saving problem and mid trade the cable unplugged, when I restarted the game neither of them had the mudkip

Congrats, the shiny Treecko line looks absolutely awesome. They're already some of my favorite starters, but that coloration is just incredible.
I remember hunting this years ago in Ruby, and managed to avoid any shiny Poocheyena and found him at only 2,473 SRs. I would've cried if I'd found a Pooch 😟
Getting two shiny poochys is annoying. Imagine my frustration when I got SEVEN shiny Poochyena while going for Torchic

Congrats on the Treecko! I love Treecko's shiny a lot. I also had similar luck with hunting my favorite starter, Piplup, which I hunted in Diamond. I got 2 shiny Starly before I even got to 4,000 encounters and then went a bit over odds for Piplup. It was completely worth it though, because out of sheer dumb luck, the thing was female and Modest.
Shiny Treeko is one of my favorite shinys. It looks so damn good. Congrats on the shiny!

You're mad for going for shiny feebas. To this day I still don't even understand fully how feebas mechanics work in this game. Anyway, congratulations on the shiny Treecko and good luck with your DTQ!
Feebas isn’t really that bad, the time it takes to find the Feebas won’t especially matter compared to how long a shiny hunt takes.
last time I was playing through gen three it only took me a couple of minutes to find a feebas square. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but it can be time consuming if unlucky.

Daniel Ferreira maybe one of the modern super fast hunts, but otherwise no, it at least doesn't take nearly as long as shiny hunting (if your luck is average)

I love the shiny treeko line, my second shiny was a 26 reset treeko in omega ruby, GG on the shiny and F for the poocheyena, ill def be subbing!
In my Ruby/Sapphire, i d got it under 11 000 sr's, Torchic in 771 sr's ! And Mudkip in 421 sr's ! Good job Sonikks 😉

How does the rng work in ruby/sapphire compared to emerald. I know the frames and seeds are set in emerald but is it different in emerald? Is it considered to be better to hunt the hoenn starters in RS instead of emerald because of the seed.

I seem to find a pattern in Sonnik's shinies. There's always somesort of delay or wait in pressing a button or skipping a cutscene before the shiny appears. Maybe I should delay my button presses too - while continuing my 100-hour+ SRing for a shiny Turtwig...
My absoulte favourite generation. Got my shiny Mudkip a year ago. Now I am starting a new playtrough on my Sapphire cartrige and hunt the same "Gecko Legend Boii" as you haha. Wish me luck.
