- The finale video of my Ruby Dream Team quest is here.
It's surreal to have this finished already as when I was picking targets, I felt like this one could have gone on for a long, long time. I certainly didn't expect to have found Aron and Trapinch so quickly with only really Lileep and Feebas taking their time to appear.
This is new content for me. I'm not a battler, I'm not really into amazing move sets and the best of stats. I'm from an age when Pokemon was simply about putting a team together and making it work regardless of natures, IVs, EVs etc. That said, if you enjoy watching this, please let me know and I'll be sure to do more of these in the future.

Snatch doesn't steal moves. If you use a status move, then the snatch user will "take" that move, and use it before you on that turn.

The ending of this was like waiting for the post credits cutscene in any Marvel movie only to find out the most ambitious character is joining the cast, haha. But seriously, saying this video was just “awesome” would be an understatement. I honestly can’t think of a better way to show off all your time, hard work and adventures with your Pokémon then to take on the summit of any Pokémon game; the Elite Four and the Champion. To me personally this brings a good sense of completion and ending to a very long movie/series that started about a year ago. This is why to me I prefer DTQs to BQs. Instead of it being just a “challenge” it’s a lot more intimate and even nostalgic in a way. Looking back on your favorite childhood Pokémon, then shiny hunting all of them to make the most badass team is beyond cool and is like looking at any Pokémon game through a new lens. This is so refreshing and a nice change for a shiny hunting video (I just watched Olig’s Platinum DTQ as well which was also really amazing as well). A million congratulations, Steve. I look forward to your future DTQs and Elite Four showcases as well.
I would love to see more content like this, it wasnt annoying at all and I could tell you were excited about the new content despite being nervous. Good job, and I would love to see more
12:45 To answer your question: I would personally like to see more content related to this! I enjoy seeing you use your shinies you worked for. It's definitely a good showcase of how great shiny Pokémon were in previous games. Not many people have full on seen shiny Pokémon all that often in older games (Gen 5 and before).
On a side note: You were talking about why you don't name your shiny Pokémon and I am very similar. I personally think it is strange to name my shiny Pokémon, the biggest reason being that I'm too indecisive on names and I typically want the names to have meaning haha (IF I decide to name something).
I named my shiny Sylveon, Bubblegum...
Thats meaning enough for me.

Man, this is truly amazing! I really admire your infinite patience, and I can only say that I am glad you succeeded in this amazing experience! I honestly think that spending almost 500 hours on this project is really great, and I think you feel fulfilled! @@chilldon26 Maybe milotic for me? I've never gone through the trouble to get it. Al though If I had my choice of any 6 it would be all 3 starters, flygon, aggron, and gardevoir.

honestly? i loved seeing this, it was such a satisfying ending to the shiny dtq. and i'm excited to get to see your newest hunt! honestly, you and my partner fairy are the two people that got me into full odds shiny hunting, and i'm really thankfu for that, because even just with getting my first one (a shiny totodile in soulsilver, my favorite gen 2 starter no less!) it's a really calming time waster and almost like a sort of thing i can do in the background like how someone might use a fidget cube or something. and your ruby DTQ was the first series i watched of yours, so thank you!

Seeing all of your shinies like this, with you at the end, is just so heartwarming! I love this! I think this is what I always hope to see when people do their BQs and DTQs etc. It's really nice to go back and witness what you worked for, while you're sitting at the end now. It makes the finale just so impactful!

you gotta appreciate the grind that Sonikks puts in! all the original gen 3 games had a 1/8192 chance at a shiny mon, compared to the new games being 1/4096, or even as low as 1/512 if you try to get the best odds. long post short, Sonikks I love your content, man!! seeing people still appreciating the OG R/S/E in their content is amazing! keep it up man!

I LOVE seeing people fight the pokemon league with their DTQ/BQ shiny teams! One of my favorite things to watch while hunting honestly. Hope you continue to do these in the future. Also GADDAMN that team is so sexy, seriously 6 of the best hoenn shinies right there all together!
Man I admire your patience doing this and every other full odds you have done so far, I've being trying to get a shiny shaymin in platinum for 1 week now and I'm almost giving up and waiting for the event in BDS already. In this same time I've been multihunting and manage to get shiny regidrago in shield, larvesta and pansear in y, Rattata, Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Bellsprout, metapod and Jigglypuff in let's go. It's clearly a much harder quest to do a full odds in the older games you're really is a patient Man.

I'd like to say that your videos are great and that you inspired me to do a DTQ in Pokemon Sun and I plan on doing one in one of each generation. Turns out (if i have no errors) that you have luck better than the odds! 1/7981. Hope it's some fun information

Yeah, I did really enjoy this. It's nice to see your shinies in action! I don't mind the length either, as I'm doing some hunting myself right now - looking for shiny Tyrogue from the karate king in Crystal. Anyway, this content gets a thumbs up from me!
I really do like these types of videos, I like the sidebars and the aesthetics of the video, you're thought process in playing pokemon as a game. I always have trouble picking my favorite pokemon and targets for shiny hunting as a whole but seeing others doing it makes me happy (?) if that makes sense, and seeing other people use random and not really seen mons before like Cradily is super cool. It would be nice seeing more DTQ's and these types of videos from you Steve! congrats once more and sorry for the long comment haha

Yoyr commentary and voice/personality makes these videos enjoyable, besides the shinies of corse.
Not knowing what moves your opponents have actually makes this better in my opinion. Very nostalgic, how pokemon is supposed to be played.

I would also welcome if you showed your save files with the special pokemon and stories, but that's not for everyone I suppose

I watch your shiny videos for motivation (also cause I like your voice), and this 50-minute video is just what I need to listen to so I don’t tear my hair out over Tympole (approaching mid 20k in encounters... fml. I’m doing a DTQ in White and I’m stuck on my second team member!)

All Feebas can evolve in Gen 3. It's a common misconception that Feebas needs certain natures. I cover it in my Shiny Feebas video.

i love it, i would prefer if you used the best move setups for each pokemon so we get an idea whats the best for move set for each pokemon and the items they should hold. but if you like being oldschool keep doing it but it just helps the viewer

When you were talking about not nicknaming shiny Pokemon, I get that too. Most of the time I find it pointless.
I've nicknamed two of mine however. Both for certain reasons.
For example, my first shiny fail was a Psyduck at the Fire Red safari zone. So I reclaimed it and named the second one Abolish. As it just felt fitting to me.

The commentary was very good! Out of curiosity did you use rare candies on your team? I found it peculiar that every Pokémon was at level 50 w Zero XP in their exp bars. You should definitely do more videos like this, I think it’d be awesome if you did a Fire red Leaf Green run and trade shinies to yourself if you have any that are low level , or maybe use a shiny starter if you have one lieing around
