    I made the ones with breadcrumbs. Absolutely gorgeous. Mixed some chutney into mayo for salad dressing, although it is delicious by itself. Thank you for this recipe x x

    Hi Bumbi 👋Those tofu appetizers look great. Cute little sandwich canapes, but without the bread. I want to make all of them. The tofu press is amazing. I never saw one before. I need to get one. Hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend 💕

      Yes, do get one. After decades of pressing with paper towels, and then feeling guilty about throwing away the paper (I used to hang the sheets up and use them when dry, to line kitchen compost bin!), I finally bought a TOFUTURE online. There’s lots of different makes and I worried about spending lots of money on a gimmick, but I love it! It’s so useful, small and neat, washes in a flash and is always ready to use when I get my tofu out of the packet. You won’t regret buying one. Good luck! ❤

    • @CurriesWithBumbi
      @CurriesWithBumbi  3 месяца назад +3

      Yes you can. Sometimes I make a very thin cornstarch slurry and roll on breadcrumbs. Sometimes I take a combination of maida+cornstarch+baking powder. I like it with besan the most as besan has so much flavor.

    I love tofu and I love my tofu press! I use it all the time. I used to freeze the block of tofu, defrost it, and then squeeze as much liquid out as I could. But I don’t need to do any of that now.
    Also, I’m a lazy cook and am always looking for shortcuts while keeping the nutritional value. I’ve found that cashew butter is a good substitute for soaking and grinding cashews. So far it’s worked really well for lazy me.

    Omg I remember buying tofu for the first time and hating it 😭 broke my heart because I was so excited to try it after the huge hype online. The recipe I followed made tofu into a curry and I was under the assumption I’d enjoy it because I love any sorts of curry! But I’m not giving up on tofu, I’m definitely trying this method 🤞🏽 hoping I’ll enjoy tofu this time!!

    Nice job on getting an actual tofu press. I'm still doing the whole draining tofu by placing a baking sheet over it, and then weighing it down with a cast iron skillet/cans😊

    TIP. When using egg add a tsp. Of fresh cream if available. Makes a wonder difference. The egg is not any longer runny and has a wonderful texture. By the way this is a creative way of serving starters. Thank you Bumbi from Germany.
