Go to mount tahan in Pahang, make sure u prepare mentally and physically. Its usually a 4 days 3 night trip, camping in the jungle. You will meet a lot of rare animals

I climbed Mount Kinabalu in 1986 & 1987. I was 14 & 15 then, now I'm 50, I don't think I can do it again but anyway congratulations Alwin you did it. You are a nice person, God bless you.
my late father went back to mount kinabalu in his 50 after a failed attempt due to me and my mother got altitude sickness (me being the worst as i was unfortunately a heavy smoker 30 yrs ago), He succeeded to the peak and got the colored certificate ^^ . You can do it too , just make sure to atleast start hiking lower trail first( for a few month) to get back the stamina.
I climbed twice back in '88 & '90 and I always wanted to climb again. However, after my heart attack I don't think I will climb Mt. Kinabalu again. Also being in my fifties now.
Many people age above 65 have climbed Kinabalu successfully. i climbed when I was 38. I was having flu/fever and was rather slow. A man in his 70 was much faster than me.
Im johorean born living in Kota Kinabalu for 23years. Climbed and conquered Mt. Kinabalu on year 2k and got the special millennium certificate. It's a challenge and mind over body. When your body is damn tired and about to break but your mind say let's go. You can achieve great things!!

I've reached the peak twice. First one when i was 16, second was at 26. I think im gonna go for a third climb when i'm 36 which is in 2 years to come. Third time's a charm i guess :)

I can feel your amazing satisfaction of reaching the Peak and thanks for proudly displaying the Malaysian flag.. You were so lucky to witness the gorgeous sunrise. It's a mesmerizing view indeed! I climbed in 2000, 23 years ago. I still remember how difficult it was to capture the low peak. At that time you have to prepare your own food at the laban rata. congratulations Alwin on making it so successful.

I love every climbs.. the sunrise always mesmerized me everytime.. try climbing ApiApi Pinnacles at Mt Mulu in Sarawak. But it is quite expensive.. If you are still in Sabah.. try climbing Bukit Botak in Sepanggar KK.. if you are going to Semporna.. try climbing Bukit Tengkorak.
@@keangwooichoo6138 last year.. there are many packages.. mine all in the lowest was about RM520.. maybe now more than that.. you can get the latest price from Sabah Park website. The first time I climbed was about RM70
The Pinnacles of Mt Mulu is quite tough track, always shrouded in fog thus the climb is started during early morning or else you can't see the breathtaking scenary. Never climbed one myself, but definitely had few rounds of cave tour due to friend is Mulu indigenous people.
the memories of the 80's for me come back now...I was 21yrs old then...proud to reached to that Low's Peak the highest peak in South East Asia.. thanks for sharing...I also went to the Zugspitze in Germany's highest mountain but to reach it is only via Cable car... so mount Kinabalu still challenging...hehehe...

Yeahhh finally u've made it to the top! 👏👏 i've climb twice and the feel is so amazing for every hike. U sud hike pinnacle also, located in Mulu National Park, Sarawak. The park is so amazing! Full of nature. I climbed mount Mulu and Pinnacle 😄

11:39 I took picture at this same spot many many years ago too (also fed the squirrels at the earlier hut 😄). At that time they had only started a little bit of the foundation for the hotel. Can see the progress is slow because every piece of building materials was carried up by porters (as far as I know they don't use helicopter because the cost is too high). Thank you very much for the excellent video, I was an avid trekker and had been to Mt. Kinabalu 5 times, and your video brings back lots of fond memories. 👍 27:17 That is the South Peak where you were pointing.

Had a frustrating attempt at hiking Mt. Kinabalu. The weather wasn't on our side, and both me and my sister being the amateur we are didn't bring pills to deal with AMS. A drizzly start then went to full downpour 1.5km from the lodge. The only thing in sight is the next step, each step is a needle to my head accompanying the feeling of blood pulsing through. We took too long to reach Laban Rata and had barely any rest till the guide called us to the summit. The weather in that morning still haven't clear up and many were hesitant to summit, and obviously us broken duo stayed behind. Thank you for showing me the better hike of Mt. Kinabalu. Someday I'll be up for the challenge again.
Fav part when you give the hiking stick to your friends and i think you fit enough without that and also you got notice your friend got new energy to continue hike up to next station ..

try lower but very energy demanding mountain first, my suggestion is bintang mountain in kedah and a lot of mountain in perak

Tq for taking us up the Mt Kinabalu.First time I set foot at Timpohon in 1995 with my kids.I am too old to ever dream of reaching the summit now😔.
the memories of the 80's for me come back now...I was 21yrs old then...proud to reached to that Low's Peak the highest peak in South East Asia.. thanks for sharing...I also went to the Zugspitze in Germany's highest mountain but to reach it is only via Cable car... so mount Kinabalu still challenging...hehehe...

Yeahhh finally u've made it to the top! 👏👏 i've climb twice and the feel is so amazing for every hike. U sud hike pinnacle also, located in Mulu National Park, Sarawak. The park is so amazing! Full of nature. I climbed mount Mulu and Pinnacle 😄
Im from KL, twice climbed mount kinabalu, second climbed i did via feratta. In 2007 when i was super fit, i reached the peak at 3.15am !!!!

11:39 I took picture at this same spot many many years ago too (also fed the squirrels at the earlier hut 😄). At that time they had only started a little bit of the foundation for the hotel. Can see the progress is slow because every piece of building materials was carried up by porters (as far as I know they don't use helicopter because the cost is too high). Thank you very much for the excellent video, I was an avid trekker and had been to Mt. Kinabalu 5 times, and your video brings back lots of fond memories. 👍

Had a frustrating attempt at hiking Mt. Kinabalu. The weather wasn't on our side, and both me and my sister being the amateur we are didn't bring pills to deal with AMS. A drizzly start then went to full downpour 1.5km from the lodge. The only thing in sight is the next step, each step is a needle to my head accompanying the feeling of blood pulsing through. We took too long to reach Laban Rata and had barely any rest till the guide called us to the summit. The weather in that morning still haven't clear up and many were hesitant to summit, and obviously us broken duo stayed behind.
Thank you for showing me the better hike of Mt. Kinabalu. Someday I'll be up for the challenge again.
