The real heroes!
@@EddieExplores Unsung Heroes indeed 👍
Graft that lad. Unreal views tho blimey.
The sunrise above the clouds were crazy! Thanks for watching mate
Congratulations !! You have reached the summit of Mt Kinabalu.. You are very lucky because the weather is beautiful. Before climbing Mt Kinabalu you have to be fit because although it is only 6 km and seems not very far but Altitude Mountain Sickness or AMS will break you and make you tired. Some will get headache before they reach Laban Rata (6km).
Thank you! The weather definitely smiled on us. That staircase must become a waterfall in the rain!
@@EddieExplores Not really.. you'll be too drench and cold before reaching Laban rata. If it rains at the peak, you might not be able to climb because the trail can be slippery and the wind can be too strong.. The stairs are ok but can be slippery at times.
You guys got lucky there's no rain during the climb.. way more difficult and dangerous 😅
Agreed. Can't imagine how bad it would be in the rain going up that staircase and then the rocks.
Been there done that in November 1998.
Alhamdulillah.
Sweet memories remain.
🇲🇾⛰
Well done! Must have been even cooler back then, a bit more raw and rugged I imagine.
ah... fond memories. Thank you for showing how it looks like now. The adorable fluffy squirrels are still there.
Haha I want one of those squirrels as a pet they are so cute
An experience you’ll remember for a long time to come! 👏🏻👏🏻
Memories to last a lifetime
Wow.. What a wonderful vlog. Very nice guys. Happy to see you both climbing Mount Kinabalu 😊👍👍 Such a great adventure ❤
Thanks for watching! It was such an incredible experience
Wow. What an amazing experience.
Memories to last a lifetime
@@EddieExplores Awesome. 😀
A very good guide video for those planning on climbing Mt. Kinabalu. The interaction with the guide and the expressions along the way provides a good feel for a potential climber. Congratulations to both of you on your successful capture of Mt. Kinabalu.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. Our guide was such a legend we couldn't have done it without him.
Congrats ! what an amazing vlog documenting your climb !
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Congrats! Really nice preview for people considering climbing up Mt. Kinabalu
It is hard work but so worth it. You got this!
Salute and congratulations on your success in reaching the mountain summit
Thank you! Hard work but so worth it
You guys very lucky because the weather are good and safe to climb over there.. Thanks a lot for visit sabah. Hope you all come again
We really got so lucky with the weather, can't believe how much harder it would be in the rain!
Paduuuuu bos 😊
Thanks for watching!
Please do not listen to the guy that said you can eat the pitcher plant 7:32 while its not harmful to consume it, there is no significant nutritional value from it and it is not commonly consumed. aside from that you will only do harm to the pitcher plant populations as many of it species are threatened or endangered. i hope this make things clear. and btw thank you for visiting Sabah. i hope you will visit us again soon.
Thanks for clearing that up. I think what he was saying is that people cook rice inside the plant but I am not 100% sure. Thank you for having us, plenty more videos to come from Borneo!
@@EddieExploresYes, people put rice inside it and cook it.
Bravo 👏Awesome journey. Well done.🥰
Thank you! Was hard work but so worth it
Thanks for your video.. It reminds me my climbs 20 years ago..Done few times.. Nice to see it again in your video... Enjoy your time on Borneo.. regards..all the best..
I imagine it must have been different 20 years ago. Hopefully less people? Thanks for watching
Wowwww this is so dope
Glad you enjoyed it!
you guys were very lucky to have such a great weather..many i hv seen in youtube struggling with bad weather
Agreed. Can't imagine how much harder it must be in the rain.
Wellcome to Sabah, happy scaling the only unique mt of the tropic. It harbours the mega Bio-D ether flora or fauna. Have climbed few times and happened to observed the most beautiful scenary was end of April to early June when mass flowering of rhodendron trees, the trees you called bonsai. If you may notice the peak as your background photo looks like the head of batman or for Sabahan a picture of orangutan.
If you may explore more, we have the highest tropical trees at Danum Velly. It is there you may see how we preserved our prime forest. The Maliau basin are another nature to explore, it is known as the 'lost world of Borneo' and not less amazing is the Imbak canyon
Rhodendron trees! Thats the one. They were so cool I absolutely loved that part of the walk. Thanks for watching and for the recommendations, plenty more videos to come from Borneo!
this is rare content 👍 nice good job conquer Mt. Kinabalu 💪💪

Yesss we were super lucky with the weather throughout. Rain must make it so much harder!
Salute.
The view was worth the climb!
Hi when did you two climb this? I summited 27 Apr 2024, so quite recent. Weather was good for me too, so I'm lucky. Lots of stairs but I kinda trained few mths before it. Also did a video on my channel but a brief one. Yours is detailed and cool. Thanks for sharing!
We climbed in April as well, early April if I remember correctly. Got so lucky with the weather as well which we were super grateful for.
Good job👍👍👍👏

Thanks for watching!
Nice vlog dude💪 Im glad and proud for u guys made it to the top. Is it really intense and hard to climb to the top? How would you rate the difficulty 1-10? Also, would you mind to share the info of your tour guide and price?
yes it does for me it 9/10,
Hi, if ur keen on doing the climb, u can get ur guide from the kinabalu park office itself. They charge a standard price, much fairer than an independent guide
@@mayfoo02 Thanks fr sharing!
Thank you! I think it depends how fit you are, I have done harder climbs on my own before but Tilly found it a lot harder. I would rate it a 7 but Tilly probably more like 10 haha. It cost £800 for both of us and was done by Olivia who runs: Let's Climb Mount Kinabalu based in KK. Highly recommended!
Even the squirrels show how good we are at Malaysian Hospitality.
Hahah so true! The most friendly squirrels I have ever met
I went to Kinabalu park in 2013 to see how the climbers were doing. At around 3.00 p.m I saw the climbers coming down to the finishing point at Timpohon Gate. The tired looks on the face of each arriving climber was, evidence enough of this arduous adventure. And then an Australian guy was brought in on stretcher carried by 2 porters. They laid him down on the floor at T.G., and so I got to interview him. He pointed to his ankle which was severely swollen. He had twisted his ankle on the way down. He refused to remove his shoe as he was worried the swelling would get worse. His GF and friends were far behind him and we're on their way down. He had to wait for them, and then get proper medical attention.
BTW, he needed to pay the Porter fee for bringing him down the mountain. I can't remember the actual rate, but it was a few hundred Malaysian Ringgit per KM.
It certainly isn't for the faint hearted. The last day where you climb to the summit and come all the way back down again is savage. Respect to the porters for carrying him down.
Rain is the biggest issue when climbing kinabalu.
We were so lucky with the weather. Very grateful for that
Congrats to both of U and the other climbers. Its only a dream for me...
Thank you! It is hard but anyone with a decent level of fitness can do it, you got this!
Terry Mikasiiii
Welcome to Sabah ❤❤❤
Thank you! ❤️
Welcome to Indonesia

Go to...
Mount bromo
Mount ijen
Tumpak sewu waterfall
Mardakaripura waterfall
Borobudur temple
White crater
Might be there sooner rather than later 😉
It is not ' bubur caca' guys .It is mung bean porridge ,cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves.Bubur caca is a porridge with multicoloured wheat flour dough strips.
Oh! Thanks for clarifying, maybe the altitude had got to our Malaysian buddies at dinner!
New sub 👍
Welcome! We appreciate the support a lot
👍 Cholop 👍❤️😻❤️
Thanks for watching!
I somehow felt your pain in my legs. Btw congrats 👏
Took us about a week to recover! Absolute mission haha
Great video :) How cold is the summit?
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. The summit was pretty cold especially before the sun rise, we are from England though so quite used to it haha
@@EddieExplores Thanks for replying 😊 I'm going there this coming August. Wonder if it as cold as winter if no rain. I heard that it's quite cold if rain.
Enjoy the highest mountain, the highest hostel, the highest restaurant and the highest mail box.
and also the highest toilet
The highest everything! Truly like standing on top of the world up there
You can eat the plant, but our country already ban from selling the cuisine because of the high possibility of food posoning.
Glad I didn't give it a try then 🤣
I love sabah country in Borneo
Such a special place!
The tallest mountain in SEA
Myanmar himalaya subrange is the tallest in south east asia. Kinabalu is tallest between himalaya and Papua.
Wanted to climb it for so long and we finally did it
@@keangwooichoo6138maybe you can call it the tallest mountain in south east Asia continent
@jirinfishingchannel8380 the 3rd tallest island peak after hawaii and Papua.
what camera are u using for fliming... congratulation on your climb
Thank you! A Go Pro Hero 11 is what we use to film
next gunung ledang
Watch this space!
In my opinion the toughest mountain terrain in Malaysia was Gunung Tahan which is the tallest mountain in peninsular. If you could conquered Gunung Tahan, Gunung Kinabalu would be nothing to you.
Next time!
setuju!! tapi tiap gunung ada susah dia. kinabalu kena hujan lebat, angin kuat ribut waktu summit attack jalan2 atas batu tu. tergelincir terus alam lain. suhu sejuk, kaki tangan kebas tak rasa..oksigen nipis semput2.. hmm.
@@EddieExplores
Its take 5 days up and 3 days down, if nothing happen in betwee
Try second highest mountain mt trus madi via wayaan sinua bang,,confirm nangis🤣✌️
5:32 real porter from Death Stranding spotted!!
Those porters are absolute beasts! They have my upmost respect
I'm carrying 12kg backpack while hiking to the Panalaban, urghhhh sooooo penatttt 😂
I don't know what that means but thanks for watching!
❤❤🎉🎉😂😂👍👍
Thanks for watching!
One of my friend ate that plant, and the next morning he turned into a squirrel😅😅😅
Hahah it gave him super squirrel climbing powers 🤣
Hanya ada d Sabah ❤
What a special place
NO SNOW.HOW COLD WAS IT AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN.?
Pretty cold! Especially before the sun rose
@@EddieExplores TQ SIR.I AM FROM WEST/PENISULAR MSIA .NEVER VISIT SABAH.BUT MY DAUGHTER WORK AT LABUAN SABAH AS A TEACHER.
You can actually climb kinabalu via ferrata, if you want more challenge.
Yesss we wanted to do this but couldn't because of my bad shoulder
How much did you pay in pound sterling??
Less than 300 pound
It was about £800 for both of us everything included (transport from KK, food, accommodation ect)
@EddieExplores one british youtuber paddy doyle mentioned last year it was 700usd including via ferrata. So yours seems higher as it is in pounds. Maybe it depends on season peak or low season. I am uncertain.
so many different language at same place with common objective
Beautiful way of bring people together from all over the world. Such a nice team spirit
That’s not Southeast Asia’s tallest mountain - but 👍🏾 Puncak Jaya is 4884m
Woiii thats a big one!
OMG GUYS..ARE YOU OKAY???
We made a full recovery after about five days haha
Sabahan food ✅
Sooooo good! Malaysian food in general is just unreal
Rulers nine. Ibrahim rulers or kings ibrahim. M-maharaja/emperors (now) new kings of inmalay. State Johor malay. from msiani. Southern. Semenanjung/peninsular. State perak malay of msianni. West coast. Emperors (next) the kings 1 from msian ni. Travel there k.
Thanks for the recommendation! We love Malaysia
It's actually the tallest of southeast Asia
Feels like you are standing on top of the world up there!
what a coincidence;- my wife just completed her climb 2 weeks ago. Note;- I didn't go, climbing is not my cup of tea.
How did she find it? That staircase is an absolute calf ruiner
43:51 pless use spoon for eat your rice in asia, not use a fork 😢
Haha we were were too tired for spoons!
how much u pay for the climb....im sure i can get it cheaper if u ask me...😁😁😁😁
Was £800 for both of us everything included. We searched for months and was the cheapest we could find by a long way.
Now I know why hobbits have 2nd breakfast. Congrats.
Hahah I'm so glad someone got that reference! Gotta leave in the LOTR easter eggs for the real legends
I can climbing the mountain but when back home I can't walk 😂😂 that is why I don't want go to climb the high Mountain
Hahah we were walking like zombies for about five days after this
@@EddieExplores 😂😂😂😂💪
Not tallest but highest 😊😊
Lol
Climbing while talking will make you out of breath quickly.
Haha tell that to Tilly! The girl usually never shuts up 🤣
You should visit East java
Soon come 😉
hhhhhhhh
Spirit of steel
hhhhhhh
The highest mountain in Malaysia.
hhhhhhh
The Federal and State governments should improve the route tracks to facilitate and attract more climbers from within the country and abroad
hhhhhhhh
Various facilities for visitors also need to be provided.
hhhhhhhhhhhh
The facilities were the best I have ever experience during any mountain climb around the world. They were almost too good tbh!
Congrats
Thank you!
