  • The Omega Seamaster Professional 300M is probably one of the best known luxury dive watches apart from the Rolex Submariner. And the Seamaster is for sure one of the main Submariner competitors. But is the Omega still the best luxury dive watch to buy?
I spent about a week with this Omega watch and in this video I am sharing my thoughts about this famous watch.

Goofy design. Worst bracelet ever. Low beat movement. Far from the best.

For me, the Seamaster 300 is the ultimate blue dial watch. Not white, not black, not any other color - just BLUE. Maybe it's James Bond's fault. 1995's Golden Eye and Pierce Brosnan... That was the first time I fell in love (WITH THE WATCH!!!, not Brosnan). Maybe it's just a stereotype. Or the "magic power" of advertising. Or maybe, it's good old nostalgia. The new James Bond hasn't convinced me that a black dial works too. Probably because I got older and more conservative in my preferences and the "magic power" of advertising doesn't work anymore.

If watches are your hobby, you'll need to move with time. Otherwise, your contents are becoming more negative as time goes along. It has been that way for a while now.

I wanted to buy my first luxury watch and could not decide between the SMP300 and the Speedmaster. After looking and wearing both watches the Seamaster white dial felt and looked more luxurius for me. I really like the wrist presence and the hefty feel of it. The bracelet is also not that bad as people say. It makes the watch heavy but i like it. The watch is not subtle at all but why should i want a subtle watch when paying about 5k for it?

That's why i have been advocating about why rolex did not have AR coating in the past, it's not something truly practical for a dive watch or even for a watch, the introduction of AR coating is very gimmicky and not very well thought because it will damage over time, not forgetting that if you gonna dip it into the sea water. I mean you can easily read the time with a little bit more of tilting to your wrist and the coating is completely unnecessary.

Sorry but the sapphire anti reflective treatment is not “easy to scratch”. I’ve owned my Seamaster for over three years and have done all kinds of stuff with it including fly fishing and working out at the gym. While the stainless case has some scratches, the sapphire, and specifically anti-reflective treatment, doesn’t have a single scratch on it. This seems to be a comment that was made based on an assumption as opposed to real world experience.

I think its a great timepiece. Perfect for a daily wear and rubber bracelet gives it a nice summer vibe.

I own the SMP300 white dial on rubber. I bought mine pre owned at a steel. Its a nice watch but a little thick. Its probably not for everyone because of the design but its good value pre owned

I have the Great White, a 7" wrist, and I don't experience it as big and bulky, but I do wish it were a bit thinner. I also don't like the bracelet, so I've switched it out for a variety of different rubber and fabric straps, and in it's own unique way, it's kinda' a strap monster. It's a workhorse, I don't baby it, and I love wearing it for most all occasions.

I have this watch in the white dial and love it. I also like the blue dial but purchased the white because it is way more versatile, like the black. My only complaint is the bracelet. I hate it, so I purchased the 007 black and grey nato from Omega, and the watch looks fantastic.
