I'm a big fan of Omega but this Tag is growing on me.
I'll take the TAG
That Seamaster was my favorite watch period. Then this new Aquaracer was released; my favorite looking watch ever. I'd pick the Tag every time.
Tag for the win 🏆
I really like the new Aquaracer, and I like that it’s now COSC certified
I just purchased the new Tag with the black face and it's stunning. Wears incredibly comfortable on the wrist and it's just aesthetically pleasing. It really pops in the sunlight or with any good light. Lumination is terrific in the dark.
Congrats, enjoy wearing it!
Thank you for making these comparison videos
You bet, thanks for viewing!
All in all, including the all important price point, I'd go Tag here.
Tags sword hands are hands down better than the hollow omega hands which suck in the dark
Handled the tag last week, I was interested in maybe picking one up, the omega (I own the green dial) is much better when it comes to the quality, feel and finishing, it’s simply better.
Of only the Tag came with the Omega movement! For my wrist the Tag would be a better fit and I actually prefer the dial and hand design over the Omega.
The Omega is clearly a better watch, but is it $(€,£)2,100 better? I think not.
Omega, Rolex and Brietling charge crazy prices now: the Tag is more aligned with Tudor pricing and I'm happy with that.
So until I try on the Tag, it remains the winner for me. 🙂
What is it about the performance of the movt makes omega better? In fact the tag power reserve is much longer
@@user-df2mn5bx2q Fair point, but the Omega is METAS whereas the Tag is COSC, so there's the difference between 5s/day and 10s/day to consider...
Thanks for this side by side comparison. I bought that black dial omega in 2022 and i think even now i would still choose the omega, although that tag is attractive enough that i would be happy to own it as well. Someday soon. ❤
The Omega is on a different level. No watch makers come close.
So THIS is what a Seamaster without the helium escape valve and caterpillar bracelet would look like 😂
The TH, very very beautiful and amazing dial and priced nicely.
das Zifferblatt ist der Deckel einer Rolex Box
Great comparison .Tag had come a long way back recently but still had hate. This new watch is a beauty except for the glass wart at the 6 o'clock position .
Dimensions, taper, power, and mixed lume are more compelling than I expected on the Tag! Totally agree on rubber for the Omega.
Tag for me without a doubt!!.
Lots of subtle differences between these two similar-looking watches: I prefer the date and bracelet construction on the Omega but the thinner case on the Tag. But the main difference for me, other than the price (!), is that I could actually wear the Aquaracer on my smallish wrist.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
Remember everyone, Omega should be higher quality because of its price difference. Having said that, being a former owner of the 300m, I’d easily pick up the Aquaracer over it. I’m still surprised how well it wears on my 7 inch wrist. So Tags aren’t built with second hand value in mind. Who cares? I’d just glady wear it without worrying much about it depreciating in value.
No right or wrong, depends on the wearer. Omega is still an Omega, just that I think Tag should be more creative, benefit of a doubt that they are not deliberately following the design of Omega.
Not even close! Omega all day❤️
I own this Omega and a previous generation Aquaracer and rather like both of them. Not a fan of the cyclops at the 6 on the Tag other than that I think the Tag is sharper looking. My Breitling Superocean Heritage gets way more wrist time than either of these.
Tag Heuer
I might pick up the Aquaracer at some point, when it's hopefully available under MSRP.
My only concern is the bracelet. The links look so thin and it's a pin system, I fear that it just feels cheap, like a 300€ Seiko bracelet, because it looks pretty much exactly like one.
Tag is pretty nice for the price point and it doesn't have that HE value which I really don't like. I do like the dial action sound and open case back on the Omega.
The bracelet for the Seamster is the deal breaker for me, don't like the looks of it, especially without a taper
Omega hands down 👍
The winner is Tag for sure, Omega should do something about the seamaster 300.
They can’t change an iconic timeless design just like *that*…
The main problem with the Seamaster is that it is not a timeless design. Only the sword hands version aged well.
@@kresimirpleic Not sure what do you mean right now. I have the newest seamaster and it's pretty much the same to the original from 93. And it still looks modern, the current design can be here for another 30 years and still look up to date probably. That is timeless design.
Diver 300 old design
This TH is a bit like a wish version of the Seamaster if they are compared side by side :D
Omega 😊
Aqua racer is much improved but Tag still has a long way to go to restore their brand image - nice watch and maybe tags best right now but outclassed here
Winner goes to Tag.
My fiancé recently got me the Tag in it's GMT version, I think you do get a lot of watch for the money and also a better looking one!
Congrats, enjoy wearing it!
Tag looks much better❤
I don’t know what is the big deal with the omega bracelet not tapering I have one and 0 issues with it. I think it’s a great bracelet
It looks dated, it’s heavy, and it lacks refinement.
Movement Omega everything else Tag Heuer.
Oris for me:-)
They make terrific offerings as well.
Funny how times change. I remember when they were calling the Seamaster the Sub killer because they couldn't get a rolex.... now people are calling it ugly
had a sub, hardly wore it because I didnt want anything $10k+ on my wrists, sold it, got an SMP, wear it all the time and don't miss the sub. Oh and thankful for the $5k extra,.
The Rolex submariner was lighter so I pulled the trigger on it
Omega is the better quality watch. However, the bracelet on the Omega has needed an upgrade for years now. Hopefully, one day, Omega will design a more refined bracelet.
I think of the two the TAG is the better looking watch, although it has wandered into Seamaster homage territory now. The HEV, skeleton hands and bracelet of the Omega don’t do it for me. I’ve had both, however, and you can feel in hand the superior quality of the Omega as a product - even though the bracelet doesn’t look great, it’s super supple and comfortable to wear. And obviously the Omega has the better movement. For the money asked though I’d buy neither - the Tudor Pelagos 39 is the middle ground price wise and better than both, would take that all day long.
The tag is nice but the omega wins by a mile
I’ve owned the seamaster. Bracelet is trash. Doesn’t taper, sharp and uncomfortable. Considering the tag now. I feel they did the dimensions better
Omega is more prestigious. Aquaracer is cheaper and more of a daily watch.
I'd rather TAG Heuer.
Tag heuer now a homage brand, but at ridiculously expensive prices for a homage watch
Zero comparison.. none. Omega by light years.
However tag is ok. I owned an old one a few years back and it was good for the price.
Tag for me.
Tag looks like a clone of the omega
The bracelet in the Seamaster 300M is horrible. Beautiful Aquaracer.
I like your no nonsense videos but you need to upgrade your camera. Video quality is awful for 2024. The quality does not do the closeups of the watches any justice.
Thanks for the feedback and I will certainly share. Still using my Iphone to film...
Omega
The design of the SMP is so goofy. TAG for the win !
What’s ‘goofy’ about it? A gorgeous watch with a great movement….
@justinobrien9241 the bracelet is dogshit let's face it.
I’d agree with that, the bracelet is crying out for an upgrade
@@justinobrien9241 two crowns, handset, dial, worst bracelet ever.
@@maitrehgin your opinion bud…each to his own👍🏻
Omega= in house movement. Tag= ETA. Omega is an icon. Tag is a copy cat by a luxury brand. The Omega and Tag can both be had at decent discounted prices
who owns Omega? Swatch group. Who owns ETA? Swatch group. Therefore its not an in house movement. Omega designs the movement and ETA makes them for omega, same as other brands in the Swatch group, same thing with BlancpaiN. ETA makes all the movements specially and customized for each brand under Swatch group.
Kenissi makes movement for Tudor, Breitling, Chanel, even TAG.
Rolex has Aegler Manufacture SA who makes the movements for them
They're both as bad as each other but the Omega just pips it. The Aquaracer could be decent if it didn't have that hex shape on the case and bezel.
I like the hex shape. I
omega looks good at first glance, later I found it to be so cheesy form some reason
Why can’t Tag just do their own thing rather than just copy someone else? Be original, have faith in yourselves!
Nur Omega Seamaster und Rolex Submariner 41mm No Date
Tag all day
Omega all day, the tag just looks tacky to me..
Niether, but if i had to choose, it would be the cheaper tag. That bracelet on the omega is awful.
If comparing to cars Omega is like a BMW or maybe a Merc the Tag is like an Audi just a posh VW or Skoda , joking Tag is good it's close but Omega is more money , neither match a Submariner
The movement in the Tag is not Selitta.
The TH31-00 in the new aquaracer is an AMT sa movement designed by Tag Heuer and produced by Manufacture AMT SA a company owned by Selitta. LVMH owns Tag Heuer. They have a partnership with AMT SA.
Tudor and Brietling share movements made by Kenessi SA. The movements are designed by Tudor and Brietling and Norquain for their needs. Does Tudor make them. No. Do they design them. Yes. Are they considered in house. Yes.
Omega has all their movements made by ETA. All of them. ETA has a Omega division. They just make Omega movements. Are they produced by Omega. No. Designed by them. Yes. Are they in house. Yes. ETA is owned by the swatch group. So is Omega.
Rolex has Aegler Manufacturer SA make all their movements. Rolex designs the movements and Aegler makes them. Are they made by Rolex. No. Does Rolex design them. Yes. Is it considered in house. Yes.
Tag Heuer has AMT Manufacture SA make their movements. AMT is owned by Selitta and LVMH who also owns Tag Heuer. LVMH has a controlling stake in the company. Basically they funded most of it and Selitta runs it. Tag Heuer designs the movements and AMT SA makes them.
Are they made by Tag Heuer. No. Are they designed by Tag Heuer. Yes. Is it considered in house?
I own a Aqua-Terra, Explorer, Over seas, Planet Ocean etc. I know good watches. I own a Carrera Chrono also. The fit and finish of my Carrera is not inferior to my other watches. Maybe my overseas. But my omaga and Rolex cannot compare to that either.
I stopped in tonight to look at a few Tags while I was waiting for the wife. Tried on a Carrera Chrono Glass box. Wow. I was blown away. Fit and finish a level above my own Chrono. On par with most of my other watches.
Tried on the watch in the video. Again. Blown away. Fit and finish has come along way. The design and fit and finish punches far above it's weight. Well worth $3800. I paid $3300 by buying the Glass box too.
In my opinion..so much so I bought one. I would never have bought one in the past.
The bezel is silky smooth with audable clicks and the crown is as smooth as any watch I own.
The Carrera Day and Day Date are getting the new in house calibres in November.
I cannot think of a better diver at this. Nice comparison video. 👍
I bought the black Aquaracer 300 today from my local dealer. Really appreciated the information and knowledge you provided on this. Great piece, very happy with the purchase. It's a stunning watch.
Congrats and thanks for viewing!
No love for clone watches
Problem with Tag, it just feels cheap. Honestly not sure why you would have these two together, Omega is out of Tags league. Omega should be compared to Rolex, not a high school watch like Tag.
The Omega is leagues above in quality. Not to mention the co-axial movement super accurate plus 1 second a day. It’s not even worth the comparison. Camera doesn’t do Omega justice it has to be seen in the flesh, it’s a stunning watch I know this as I’ve had it on my wrist for 3 years and still steal a glance at it everyday.unbeatable diver.
The T in TAG stands for trash.
Tag is a cheaper knockoff of the Omega. Nothing original about the Tag. Omega is the clear winner
Omega. If you want to be a wannabe, find yourself a Timex Navi and save a couple of grand.
I just hate that seamaster style. It’s so ugly to me
Omega is the clear winner.
Such a goofy design. And that bracelet is a disaster.
Lol not it isn't. Bracelet is horrible, and I say that as someone who owned the prior gen smp
TAG is Tagging😂 What a trash watch, pure copycat. This is like Pokemon and Palword.
Not for me
@@pumaRAWR1it depends, I have that exact SMP and find the bracelet excellent, super comfortable
That tag dial pattern looks like pig skin. Hate the look of it
Waste of time, who's buying a Tag?
Omega is much much better!
The Omega is on a different level. No watch makers come close.
