I just purchased the new Tag with the black face and it's stunning. Wears incredibly comfortable on the wrist and it's just aesthetically pleasing. It really pops in the sunlight or with any good light. Lumination is terrific in the dark.
Remember everyone, Omega should be higher quality because of its price difference. Having said that, being a former owner of the 300m, I’d easily pick up the Aquaracer over it. I’m still surprised how well it wears on my 7 inch wrist. So Tags aren’t built with second hand value in mind. Who cares? I’d just glady wear it without worrying much about it depreciating in value.
No right or wrong, depends on the wearer. Omega is still an Omega, just that I think Tag should be more creative, benefit of a doubt that they are not deliberately following the design of Omega.
@baegyu6715 I wouldn't say cheaper but Omega looks more professional it has more like mathematical design and the aquaracer is more aesthetics and younger to my eyes.
The left crown for air pressure is bulky and useless for 99.9% of Omega users, despite the superior movement, bracelet very dated as well, while TAG looks modern and the dial is fantastic with the waves effect and the batman color is amazing despite this nice black with blue seconds! And is 20% cheaper, great cost benefit.
I've had the black dial a few weeks now and like it even more now than the day I purchased it. The power reserve is great, I love the looks, and the bracelet plus clasp are superb. I have dozens of watches and this is by far the most comfortable. The sand dune dials have been popular lately. I wouldn't say they were trying to be like Omega there. I love the black version and unless you are in the right light you'll never even notice the waves, it's piano black with the cyan second hand. For the black at least I'd describe the watch as an homage to the Submariner, updated it to current trends, and turned it into a 42mm Aquaracer. It seems naughty and I absolutely love it. The dial can look like wood, water, or just pitch black depending on the lighting. If you roll your hand in the right lighting it will look like water glistening in the moonlight.

The Omega is clearly a better watch, but is it $(€,£)2,100 better? I think not. Omega, Rolex and Brietling charge crazy prices now: the Tag is more aligned with Tudor pricing and I'm happy with that. I have both of these watches, and I prefer the Tag. Very comfortable, a bit less clunky without the helium release valve, cool lume. Not a fan of the cyclops either as another commenter noted.
Never thought I’d say this but if you take brand and resale out of the equation and just judge it as one watch against another I gotta give it to the Tag. They’ve really been stepping up their game lately. I have a Carrera chronograph from years ago that I hate (heavy, thick, doesn’t run great, etc) and I swore I’d never do Tag again. Rethinking that now…
Handled the tag last week, I was interested in maybe picking one up, the omega (I own the green dial) is much better when it comes to the quality, feel and finishing, it’s simply better.
Das sollte bei fast 2000 Euro mehr ja auch so sein ! . Ich nehme die Tag Heuer vllt. ein klein bisschen schwächer aber 2000 Euro gespart und genauso glücklich. TH ❤️
I’d agree, but the price point on the Tag makes it more appealing. They are both very sharp. A friend of mine grabbed the Aqua racer with the blue face, really pops. Again, both very nice.
Just picked up the Tag black dial. After having owned previous Omega SMP 300’s the new Tag Aqua Racer is much more comfortable and wearable then the Omega. It’s thinner then a submariner date. Plus it cost half the price of the Omega. Is the Omega twice the watch? No it’s not.
I own this Omega and a previous generation Aquaracer and rather like both of them. Not a fan of the cyclops at the 6 on the Tag other than that I think the Tag is sharper looking. My Breitling Superocean Heritage gets way more wrist time than either of these.
Better legibility, you can actually see the date, better bezel looks, thinner, better lug to lug, better prices actually, looks better on the wrist Omega wins only on clasp and somehow on the movement Tag hands down Great release
I might pick up the Aquaracer at some point, when it's hopefully available under MSRP. My only concern is the bracelet. The links look so thin and it's a pin system, I fear that it just feels cheap, like a 300€ Seiko bracelet, because it looks pretty much exactly like one.
I own the seamaster, speedmaster and a tag carrera. Went to the Tag dealer today and tried on the aquaracer. Looks good but felt cheap. It's lightweight compared to the carrera and the band dont feel solid. Good watch for someone getting their first but not to a collector's addition

I'm a big Tag Heuer fan, i tried on the new Aquaracer, and the Seamaster. The Seamaster is leagues above. People really have to visit the Omega boutique and put one on their wrist. That watch looks really good and on the rubber strap it's really comfortable. Yes it over 2000 more, but when you see it in person you see why. I was amazed by that gorgeous movement while looking at the caseback, it's an unbelievable looking watch, definitely on Rolex level. It makes Tudors look cheap.
Aqua racer is much improved but Tag still has a long way to go to restore their brand image - nice watch and maybe tags best right now but outclassed here
I think of the two the TAG is the better looking watch, although it has wandered into Seamaster homage territory now. The HEV, skeleton hands and bracelet of the Omega don’t do it for me. I’ve had both, however, and you can feel in hand the superior quality of the Omega as a product - even though the bracelet doesn’t look great, it’s super supple and comfortable to wear. And obviously the Omega has the better movement. For the money asked though I’d buy neither - the Tudor Pelagos 39 is the middle ground price wise and better than both, would take that all day long.

Omega is the better quality watch. However, the bracelet on the Omega has needed an upgrade for years now. Hopefully, one day, Omega will design a more refined bracelet.
It's an iconic bracelet. It'refined and comfortable. It's more dressy than the Oyster bracelet, and not as dressy as a Jubilee bracelet. It has character for sure. If you want a more sporty look, you can get the rubber strap.

I cannot think of a better diver at this. Nice comparison video. 👍
I bought the black Aquaracer 300 today from my local dealer. Really appreciated the information and knowledge you provided on this. Great piece, very happy with the purchase. It's a stunning watch.
Congrats and thanks for viewing!
My fiancé recently got me the Tag in it's GMT version, I think you do get a lot of watch for the money and also a better looking one!
Congrats, enjoy wearing it!
Nice. I have the 200 professional automatic in blue. What color is yours?
가격에 비해 훨씬 더 멋진 시계를 가질수 있다라.. 디자인은 진짜 역대 최강
Winner goes to Tag.
Do you think this tag watch will hold this value quite well ? Looking at getting one but don’t want it to half its value after purchase. Thanks
Historically speaking not as well as some others, but my advice is always buy and wear what puts a smile on your face.
@@brentmillertime8778 thank you
The Omega is on a different level. No watch makers come close.
Tag beat Omega this time. It is for sure
Ich spare viel Geld und nehme lieber die Tag Heuer ❤( die Carrera mit weißen Blatt habe ich schon und bin sehr zufrieden) und kaufe dann mir noch eine Longines als Bonbon dazu . Enzo 😎 from Berlin 🇩🇪
Omega is more prestigious. Aquaracer is cheaper and more of a daily watch.
Omega is the clear winner.
Such a goofy design. And that bracelet is a disaster.
Lol not it isn't. Bracelet is horrible, and I say that as someone who owned the prior gen smp
TAG is Tagging😂 What a trash watch, pure copycat. This is like Pokemon and Palword.
Not for me
@@pumaRAWR1it depends, I have that exact SMP and find the bracelet excellent, super comfortable
Funny how times change. I remember when they were calling the Seamaster the Sub killer because they couldn't get a rolex.... now people are calling it ugly
had a sub, hardly wore it because I didnt want anything $10k+ on my wrists, sold it, got an SMP, wear it all the time and don't miss the sub. Oh and thankful for the $5k extra,.
I've never bought a Rolex because I - just like you - couldn't wear a car on my wrist. But I do enjoy my 2017 SMPc as my everyday watch.
Anyway an Omega is also a car in your wrist 😅
@@Mauricioa1096 It cost €3,000 so it's not a car on my wrist 😊.
@@Mauricioa1096 Not even close my friend
omega looks good at first glance, later I found it to be so cheesy form some reason
Zero comparison.. none. Omega by light years.
However tag is ok. I owned an old one a few years back and it was good for the price.
TAG is better design and price
The tag is nice but the omega wins by a mile
I’ve owned the seamaster. Bracelet is trash. Doesn’t taper, sharp and uncomfortable. Considering the tag now. I feel they did the dimensions better
Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 looks better than both of them... especially with the green dial.
If comparing to cars Omega is like a BMW or maybe a Merc the Tag is like an Audi just a posh VW or Skoda , joking Tag is good it's close but Omega is more money , neither match a Submariner
For me:
1. Rolex Submariner
2. Omega Seamaster
3. This Tag Heuer
But for the price I'd preffer to skip the Seamaster, I like more the aesthetical design and color of the Tag.
The Rolex submariner was lighter so I pulled the trigger on it
They're both as bad as each other but the Omega just pips it. The Aquaracer could be decent if it didn't have that hex shape on the case and bezel.
I like the hex shape. I
Long ones Hydroconquest ceramic
$4350 price difference in Australia
The design of the SMP is so goofy. TAG for the win !
What’s ‘goofy’ about it? A gorgeous watch with a great movement….
@justinobrien9241 the bracelet is dogshit let's face it.
I’d agree with that, the bracelet is crying out for an upgrade
@@justinobrien9241 two crowns, handset, dial, worst bracelet ever.
@@maitrehgin your opinion bud…each to his own👍🏻
6k watch with no tapering horrible ali express looking braclet is just classic Omega!
Omega 😊
If a watch doesn’t have a Tfit, I’m not even looking at it
If I didn't respect Tag before, I definitely don't now, lol.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
Niether, but if i had to choose, it would be the cheaper tag. That bracelet on the omega is awful.
I'd rather TAG Heuer.
I like your no nonsense videos but you need to upgrade your camera. Video quality is awful for 2024. The quality does not do the closeups of the watches any justice.
Thanks for the feedback and I will certainly share. Still using my Iphone to film...
Tag for me.
This TH is a bit like a wish version of the Seamaster if they are compared side by side :D
Love Omega but never liked the Seamaster. The design just never appealed to me. But I love their other models. I also love the coaxial escapement with the full bridge on the movement.
SM looks amazing! ....but that bracelet is hideous.
