I love blazers and they’re my go to when I want to look more polished.
Hi Deirdre, I am a new subscriber and I use all of the tricks for looking more polished except for the elastic band to raise the sleeves. If I can find one that definitely doesn't pinch my arm and yet will stay up, I will use that trick, too!! Thank you, from America, for your videos!!
Love this! Especially the hack for blazer sleeves. I’m short & feel frumpy with my blazers so I think this will help. I also just ordered the rings. Can’t wait to get them! I am so glad that I discovered your site. Finally some good tips for women of our age. Your go to outfit is also mine - jeans, cami or fitted tee, and cardigan or jacket. So easy and always looks great! My other hack is to tuck in and add a belt, and tie a square scarf around my neck - even the plainest t-shirt and jeans look polished with a belt and scarf.

I lost my mother in 2010 and miss her every day as we were always close. Mother’s Day is a tough time for me but I have a 20 year old daughter that makes the day special. Being a mother is one of the most rewarding things and I cherish the quality time my daughter and I share.

I’m just 5ft tall Deirdre so absolutely everything that isn’t especially for petites is too long in the sleeves so this hack with the bands is one I use myself and can vouch that it is invaluable as well as trendy looking. Love the tips tonight….girl after my own ❤ heart. 🌸

I love your idea of celebrating all women I lost my daughter to cancer in 2008 and my mom in 2012 But there are many more women in my life that I can’t live without! Mom celebrating them 😊

Definitely adding a blazer, low to medium heeled leather shoes and some jewelry are all favorites of mine. I love knit blazers, especially if I’ll want to keep them on indoors, they give that tailored shape and polished look but are as comfy as cardigans. Adding a leather belt and/or silk scarf are some of my other favorite ways to look polished. I don’t really wear super-casual clothes, I can’t wear jeans, for one thing. The casual items I do wear are mostly in luxury fabrics, like my light blue silk knit hoodie, and I mix them with more polished pieces. Sneakers are wonderful for many occasions, of course, but I love footwear with a heel around 2 inches, just to give me a bit more height. Above all, I love wearing silk shirts, they feel wonderful and look polished. I prefer matte or semi-matte weaves, they look more casual and people don’t have to know I’m wearing silk, it’s my secret. Or, it was!

I love all your videos. Here in mid Maine, there's not much attention to style. I've added several colors of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, which fit me perfectly, along with mix & match separates. I love scarves & timeless jewelry as well as artsy pieces. Your tips are great!

a blazer or jacket is always listed as a polishing style statement. but i would be far too warm for that. i'm already hot most of the time. also, my upper arms are very large due to being overweight, and even though i have lost a lot of weight, my arms have retained the extra flesh. so wearing anything with longer sleeves makes me feel like i'm in a straight jacket.
You could try wearing a linen shirt worn as a 3rd layer. That would be cooler than a jacket as well as looser. XX
