To not look like a total slob, I try to have an unusual or high end bag and a jacket (like the double breasted Balmain inspired ones especially if they are in leather or an unusual color).
Loved the styling especially the navy and white silk blouse and skirt. Devine! Great video!
I must say I love the simplicity of your outfits and your videos.

Another way to elevate one's style is with an updated haircut. I just had my long hair cut a few inches above the shoulders. Now I look fresher, more modern, younger.
This is great. I don’t really have anything to add that you haven’t covered here or in the past. Neutrals will never be inappropriate. There are lots of neutral colors that many women don’t think of….very pale pink, shades of olive green, just as an example. I like monochromatic outfits so I use jewelry to add something extra to it. Classic jewelry like gold hoop earrings, a strand of pearls, a simple pearl ring….but also turquoise, amber, different gemstones and if the skin on your ears can tolerate metals that aren’t pure gold, etc…..some fun costume jewelry. I like to go a little boho so my earrings reflect that. I do not wear heels at all, but my flat shoes are still classic and also a little funky. I have loafers, ballet flats, flat slides in different colors, and my favorite for hot, humid summers; flat thong sandals. They’re dressier than flip flops but look great with almost everything. For cooler weather I have a cute pair of low heel ankle boots in a very pale pink, suede in addition to black leather ones. I don’t think I ever look poorly dressed in classic styles, neutral colors. I like how you emphasize this

Thank you for all the great ideas. I just turned 65 Friday and I have always been a little different lol...but as I get older my body has changed and I have had to tweek things just a bit. It has at times been challenging I appreciate being able to visually see outfits so I can adapt them to my style

Wonderful tips! Speaking of neutrals, reducing harsh contrasts and eliminating too many emphases (plural) at one time creates a soft but bold overall style impression with one confident, well-chosen focal point of color or flare. Applying this principle to the face carries the look to perfection. Confidence in one best choice, as opposed to the buckshot approach.The emphasis is either on the eyes, or the mouth, or the face itself, but not three at once. Emphasis on the face means a sort of "no-make-up look" where the focus is on healthy glowing sun-kissed skin. This means evening out the skin tone, a nudish lip, only a hint of eye but a sun-kissed tanny-glow overall. Tinted moisturizers, tinted sunscreens, glowy sunscreens, softer lighter mascaras (browns, greys, navy, black only on the outermost upper lashes). Trust one thing, de-emphasize the rest. Great video -- as always!

Fabulous video. I’m a pear shape so I’m having a lot of issues with finding white pants. I’m trying to find a pair that is tailored. So far, I haven’t had any luck with white jeans.

Goodness, I almost forgot about that white silk skirt (Lily Silk), it’s hanging in my closet. It’s summer, a great time to wear it, so I’m putting it out front. I love the white-trimmed black tee, I’m a big fan of contrast trim, it’s one of those super-classic and elegant details. I’m not a fan of girlish details like ruffles, this is more my thing, it’s sophisticated.
I totally agree with you, Kimberly. Contrast trims are a subtle way to add an additional style element. I think ladies are often either a big fan of ruffles or they really aren't!! XX

Another amazing video for styling tips. I really love your style. I always try to incorporate a pop of colour into my outfits as well. Recently I travel to Cuba and I wore a white linen dress with orange slide sandals. It looked really nice! I love the colour orange and I could see you wore it as well with a black dress!! Hi Deirdre - good seeing you look great and happy! Love the black sleeveless top and how you show to makes looks not quite so boring😮. I will add one thing: Tonight we were out for dinner to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. The restaurant is upscale casual ( prices range for dinner for 2 about $100. The women mostly my age 65/70 were dressed like they were going to McDonalds😮. With all the reasonable, attractive fashion we have available i can’t understand why they dress like pool slobs. Sorry but I’m just being truthful.

Think that for smaller people 5 ‘4” these wide baggy white trousers are not flattering !! Need slimming trousers ! To raise the bar wear high heels with theses trousers ! Don’t talk too much !!
