Hi Gabriel. Great job man. I'm self taught painter since the age of 16. I'm 50 years old now and I have decided to pack up and spend more time with my family. It has been two weeks now since I sold my spray guns. Devilbiss Gti pro lite, Sri, Gfg, Sata 3000b. My guns was my everything and I still feel the pain of letting it go, but there comes that time when you just have to. Great job buddy. Love your work. Greatings from Cape Town, South Africa.

I am not a car painter but am an artist. Even though I paint on canvas, your techniques and procedures give me ides. I painted an oil slick once with all the colors one would see on a rainy day. The clear coat that I applied at the end gave it that wet, rained on look. The car in this video looks awesome Thank you for sharing.

I used your tips like turning my gun on its side and the best one that made a HUGE difference was not starting from the center of the hood! That right there made the biggest improvement in the.overall finish! I painted a 2015 BMW M235i A83 Glacier silver metallic with an Iwata W 400 No tiger stripes no haze no dry spots! It looked like GLASS! THANK YOU GABRIEL!! You are one BAD ASS PAINTER BROTHER!!👍

Sorry for posting on an old video Gabe but it really amazes me how you can put so much clear on without it running, I did a door and front wing (fender) a couple of days ago, sprayed it just how the TDS called for, first light coat 10min flash then one full coat using my GTI ProLite T110 cap and 1.2 nozzle at 30psi, it was fine while in the booth but came back about 10 mins later and the clear was running down the side of the panel, I wasn't very happy!! 😤😢😂👍 John UK.

That's why I used a 2 quart pressure pot so I didn't have all that weight on my arm, plus I can go complete around a big car or truck, I sprayed a candy job, and on the first coat I got a big drip on the hood!!! F#$ked up the job, with a cup gun, my last 15 years I used a pressure pot, never had that happen again. Your videos are interesting and full of good information. Thanks

Gabriel, Thanks for your efforts to educate the interested! I think the word you might be looking for is "Encapsulate" where you control the dust and adhere it to the paper, so it can no longer haunt your efforts. "Encapsulate" means to surround and isolate. Thanks again for sharing your professional expertise!

@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS This seems like a good place to comment on the dust control; I always used to shoot all the paper even before tacking the car. And that bit of overspray left on the car would also help pick up dust when tacking.

Great video. I like seeing things done in real time. It gives me an idea of how fast you're moving and to see what the gun and the paint is doing. Everybody has a slightly different technique. You move fast but methodically...a lot like the way I like to spray and your gun distance is where I like to be also. Some guys like to spray closer and that just doesn't work for me. That ws400 sure does pump out the paint fast. Excellent video!

A piece of hair! ..."I don't know where it came from...¿¿¿" said the man with a beard.😂🤣😂🤣great work. I tend to spray a thin first coat and touch check the car with my "clean" bare hands as well.

Hey bro next time u do a complete I recommend trying this pattern I used to work at a shop that I used to do 3-7 completes a week ( don’t miss that at all) lol, start in the rear so trunk than 1/4 than opposite 1/4 and than roof than rear door and than opposite panel and same thing so than door and other side door and fender and other fender and finish on the hood I find doing it that way does a few things 1- that minute that it takes for u to go from side to side lets the previous side start to set so u prevent build up on edges and than i find finishing on the hood always makes the hood look great it may sound confusing but I find this way works the best

Good to see proper air fed mask compared to most videos showing twin filter carbon masks which do not protect from isocyanates....look after your lungs.

Gabriel, at home, I painted a trunk lid and ran out of base paint and had to reorder. There was about a 2-week period before the paint arrived so I knew I lost my window for the chemical adhesion. I sanded lightly with 1000. What should I use to wax/grease remove before tacking and finishing the base coat? When I have tried to use a wax/grease remover over base in the past it did not work well. The degreaser started removing paint.

I see you shoot your base at 20 psi and your clear at 35 psi others I've been watching shoot reverse, high psi for base and lower for clear. Interesting. I am gonna have to try both ways to see which way works for me.

What'd he say about the overspray not affecting the rest of the car that's already painted? What should you do to keep it away? Something about the spraying distance...?

Great job Gabriel , after afew times of watchingbtge video i cant help to notice you started tge second coat of clear on the opposite end of the vehicle , if you start 2nd coat on the rear same side 1/4 panel you would lay clear faster on the driver side fender and end onthe the passanger fender. Is that a possibility
