LOVE my VooDoo and most definitely going to be IN on the presale for these Raikou.
I would have to say I prefer pre-order to the gladiator combat-style live drops - where you have like 3 seconds before they're sold out - server freezes from all the hits - rampant cart-sniping, etc. It's GREAT for the lucky ones who score and I have scored on many drops. But it's just a truly sh!tty and stressful disappointing experience for those who get locked out or worse cart sniped. Which yep I've been froze out or cart sniped on at least as many drops as I was lucky. Then you're at the mercy of the flippers/scalpers on secondary market, or you can wait another year hoping for a second batch drop anyway....
I'll take a pre-order and a wait for table retail over that live drop melee sh!t, any day....
That’s definitely a perspective that I can understand, and can’t really argue the logic.
@@JimSkeltonKnives I can also understand what you mentioned about the "pre-sale fatigue" I think was how you put it. If you're only catching one or two a year, a 5-month wait could be a deal breaker. In my case between customs, one-off projects, pre-sales & drops - I generally have a pretty steady flow of at least a couple pieces a month trickling in, and currently have some in the works that already go way into 2024. So that takes a lot of the sting out of that wait.
I know most people are not in that position, and I definitely feel for those who have the passion to collect but not necessarily the means to keep a steady flow coming into the collection.

I passed on the Raiden but I did get a Voodoo, which I really, REALLY like and I'm hoping to get in on the preorder for the Raikou. Right now I'm torn between the staticwash and the black pvd with gold and bronze accents. I guess I've got 18 days to make up my mind 🤔

Couldn’t agree more enthusiastically about being totally sic😊k of pre orders in the knife community. That being said, I’m currently waiting on about half a dozen of these damned 6 month pre-orders😓 the FOMO keeps me joining these accursed pre-orders, bc I know these types of desirable, collectible, highly sought after knives.
