my mate had a zd30 patrol sized motor i told him do a donor td42 never listened another healy zd30 snapped the crank he meet me later i sold him a rebuild td42 silver out of a nissan civilian bus and his still going hard till now no problem

Nope
Only if that certain car didn't come out with that engine.. such as if it's a 3L 2006 and under its fine to run a td42 because those years came out with on.. although 2007 and up because it wasn't released with a td42 cause of emmissions.... You can't do it.. NSW anyway dunno about other states
You can if it’s a factory motor and doesn’t exceed the factory power to weight ratio so a td42 swapped into a zd30 model is fine. You can do any mods so long as it goes through and passes all the tests and you get engineer cert/mod plates ect
