I know this an old post but I wanted to say thank you. I ordered the part on amazon using the doorman part numbers and this fixed me right up. My local dealer wanted $475.00 for the parts and installation. I'm 22 dollars , a 7/32 nut driver and my crimpers in and its done!

TY for the video. The Toyota bulletin and most of the postings seem to say the blower motor will only work on high speed. I had the top 2 speeds and not the 1st 2. Bought the Dorman kit online, about $20, and only needed the resistor. Wiring harness was fine. Very easy job. Hope this helps someone.

Guess it's my turn to deal with this issue. 2007 taco. Previous owner told me not to ever turn the fan completely off, it may not come back on. Its been all good for three years but on the way to work today it quit on medium and now only runs on high setting. Bout to order some parts.

Man thank you for posting this I had the same problem in both of the Tacoma’s I’ve had, 2008 and 2015, I knew it had to be something between the switch and blower motor because I could feel my AC and heat system putting out the appropriate temperature but the fan wouldnt run. Had I’d known all this time it was just a faulty connection that was right there behind no panels or covers it woulda been fixed before summertime lol I was dreading this project expecting the worst like my blower motor is toast or the selector switch which I’d have to tear into the dash to replace. I was thinking it could’ve been the motor or switch in my 2015 Tacoma because the selector switch didn’t work in any position, but this just goes to show it’s best to check for the little things before assuming it’s something major. thank you for helping me beat the heat on this hot ass work day :)

I have the same issue. I must warn anybody who may come across this that it's best to replace/fix the wiring harness sooner than later. I simply did the wiggle fix over and over again until, about a year later, I smelled something burning and my air no longer worked, even filling with that wiring harness to the resistor. I found that the wiring harness behind the actual control knobs on the dash began to melt, likely due to that short that, for whatever reason wasn't blowing fuses. Needless to say, I almost burned my truck up and now have another harness to fix and a control module to replace because I put it off.
Also, if you buy the kit, may as well replace the blower motor resistor (they are cheap anyway) but we are finding that the resistors themselves typically aren't bad, just that lousy wiring harness that goes to it. Hope this may help someone

Blower motor resistor. I have had the exact problem with my 2011 F150. I think I'm on replacement #3. The fan working only on high is a sign that it's the resistor in most cases, aithough a faulty blower motor or wiring harness plug could also cause the resistor to go out.

Seems to be a connector issue for the whole blower motor assembly for this generation Tacoma. I've just started having this issue specified in this video.
Several years ago I had an issue with the connector to the blower motor fan shorting out. This happened right in the middle of the summer in the central valley of California.
