Can't sell the game in Germany with swastikas, portraying Nazi symbolism is against the law. I doubt the developer has the resources to release two versions.

They decided to deliberately censor it from day one, and I don't believe they'll change their stance. I'm a sucker for WW2 history and I really hate these braindead stunts for the sake of politically correctness (ironically, Kalypso, the publisher, doesn't seem to mind about political correctness when they publish yet another Tropico game, a series which at its core is a cruel, but hilarious nevertheless, parody of some of Latin America's darkest, bloodiest decades), but if you don't mind about that and are ready to deal with some of the bugs they actually brought in the game, Commandos 2 is a pretty solid and fun game. I'll stick to my old, uncut retail copy though.
So the final game was released a couple days ago and they still kept in this completely unnecessary and pointless censorship, no country has swastikas banned in video games anymore and no country has the Japanese rising sun banned especially considering Japan still use that symbol in there current flag today. This sort of thing only brings negativity to your game and pisses people off, especially when there’s no justified reason for it. So yeah great job Kalypso...

They clearly did this to sell more copies and maybe to sell to the chinese. (the burning men not included) HOWEVER. Commandos 2 was about presenting history. Thats why they even had videos of the war and explanations.. Of course the commandos in game are not real but they represent something, the green beret, the french resistance, the us soldiers... They all had a part to play. Censorship just is an affront to our history. History should not be censored. I absolutely loved this game, its the first game i played ever. And i used to play it with my dad daily. He loved it as much as i did. I was about to buy it now for both of us as gift but seeing what they did with it now... well.. I'll just have to load the old version and live some nostalgia with him. Shame really

It's for China and since it's going to be on consoles as well things are shittier than only pc. Same procedure as always. If console > expect some dumb down mechanic or censorship
I'll admit I didn't do a very good job showing the censored burning enemies here because I made this video pretty quick. I should of used a flamethrower because you can see it easier then. But when the enemies are running around burning they don't have a flame on them, they just turn brown.

Nah, they didn't change the game at all, only the graphics. And the effects (blood, explosions...) are looking worse than before...
