They could have taken some hints from Shadow Tactics, which has brilliant gameplay. Really, that studio should have done Commandos. But Desperados 3 should be fun too.
One thing you forgot to mention in this review is that they removed multiplayer. The HD version has no multiplayer, making some mission a bit harder as I have to ferry my guys one at at time. Guns of Savo Island is a real pain when my guys I left idle get caught by some random soldier while I'm trying to sneakily do the objective
game is joke when you use the "auto aim function", just try not to alert too many enemies at once, lay down and press x, ctrl left mouse to change your aiming angle, no one rlly ultilize this feature but its a game changer if you cant get pass certain part fast enough, game is pretty easy in the first place
Dude...is there any other options for control. The controls in the new console version looks awful to me. Is there an option to change controls to like it was on the ps2 or original xbox?
I kept hitting a major bug on the Colditz mission when releasing the prisoners , wouldn`t let me complete the game after months of playing . But loved the game.
I never played this game on console,I always played it on pc. And I loved it, when I was starting playing worms,I did my own commandos worm team. Im just wondering how it plays on console?
Compared with Commandos 1, it's very poorly designed on graphic, including the harsh color for the figure's outline highlight and stage setting . Why did the team change the art director? And maybe it's too early to use full 3D rather than the combination of 2D and 3D. The vibration ripple of figure's run is also a very bad idea. I love the mission expansion 'Beyond the Call of Duty ' very much. It's the best in this serial.
4.5/10? Completely arbitrary score. Yes, graphics are still outdated even with HD remaster, much better than the original though. I like Commandos series, I bought them multiple times, bootleg CDs when I was a kid, legit copies when I grew up, and digital copies from GOG and Steam to make up for my piracy, lol.
Nice review, but it does more justice to the remastered version then the game is worth... Although the graphics seem to look nice (in the trailer) I think €34,99 is too much money for such an old game...After I started to read some reviews I definitly decided not to go with this remastered version... The fact that there are so many bugs and that the nazi and swastika things are censored in the game is a damn shame...They (the dev's) should know better in 2020. I played all Commando games from the 00's onwards, from the very first released game to the last one (wich I didn't liked at all). After reading all these negative reviews I decided to take the CD-Roms out of the dust in the closet where they were laying untouched for months and I'm playing the old version again (no problems what so ever on Windows 10). Many people who bought the original game as a Steam-version seem to have problems with Windows 10, but not on the CD-Rom version. I have played the games for years and I still love them today so the remastered version is no neccesary addition for me anymore. If you really look for a nice challenge if you have played this game for so many times you should find the old CD-Rom version and visit this site: commandoshq.net/c2dp_info.php Here you can find a great mod for the game that increases all the challenges and difficulty for the game and give you some 100 missions extra made by fans etc. The missions from the first games Behind Enemy Lines and Beyond the Call of Duty as well as the missions from the third game Destination Berlin are in it as well. I haven't tested it all but it sure is worth a visit and try out...Don't know if the mod will also work with the original Commandos 2 from Steam, but it does work with the original CD-Rom game. Enjoy !!
I agree with you on the price, but it's nice itll reach to newer players. I've actually still got my old disk too! Just havent got the console to play it on 🤣🤣 awesome link you put in the comment though. Hopefully some people are able to enjoy. Cheers 🖖

I feel they just straight ported it from the og.

That's very true, and a little odd they left it out the, thanks for sharing 🖖

Thanks for the candid, honest review, especially considering you received the game for free. Much appreciated.
How does it compares to a Ps2 version? It tempts me to try it out on series X instead (emulated ps2 on xsx)
This was 2 years ago. Any chance to tell how this one is today, in October 2022?
The game hasn't received an update so the review would be the same bud 🖖
I just bought this one, I can not wait too relive the memories ❤
I play this game as a kidd! Great memory!
It's a great game! 🖖

I can double check tonight, but I dont think so no. And yeah your right the controls arent great! 🖖
the stages are same as in the old version or any new stages added as well?
It's filled with bugs. Absolutely littered. Can't believe they could actually have the audacity to release something like this.
Unfortunately yes. But it's still nice to play and remember how it was.
You can buy the game separate on console around 16.50 or so.
Awesome thanks
i hope for a patch cause there are too many bugs to enjoy the game properly!!!
I'm sure one will come, they needed them for pc too 👍

It played well, like I said in the review, it's a little clunky and it can cost you at times. But it's a fun game and a nice walk down memory lane.

I just play the original commandos 2 with the hd project mod
Do you enjoy it?
@@TheCriticallyClueless yeah pretty challenging
Even Jagged Alliance Rage is better than this imo, cant wait for Jagged Alliance 3.
