Yeah, like maybe have another item called the super golden pipe which costs 25 or 30 coins instead of 15 which will always bring you to the right one or something (I think it's good for there to be an item that brings you directly to the right star but it definitely shouldn't be as cheap as 15 coins). Even in Neon Heights from Mario Party 7, the Lakitu orb did cost more and would only bring you a random chest (though to be fair you didn't need to precisely land on a happening space to reach certain otherwise unreachable areas on the board lol).
I actually fully agree with this list. Finding this Mario party the best one of the entire series, I always enjoyed the boards (except kamek’s library) and this list is basically the way I would rank the boards in terms of how much fun they are and how much I enjoy them. Also, yes, not only is bowser’s pinball machine so chaotic and crazy and frantic but it also has one of the most banging soundtracks in a video game ever. Really great video. (Sigh) rip Hudson soft. We will never forget you…
Kamek's Library is essentially Neon Heights from Mario Party 7 except you have much less control of board placement. Definitely not surprised to see that one last haha. Very nice list! In fact, I think I'd actually rank them exactly the same way as you did (though for me BPM and TMR are very close) "Music Park is one of my all-time favourite Mario Kart tracks" ahhh, a man of culture I see, excellent!
Honestly, other than the second island it's the easiest board to get around. As there are many splits and the book domino shortcut can be.taken in both directions
????: Bowser's pinball, I haven't played it ????: Donkey Kong, I haven't played it 3rd, kameks library, me and my brother prefer the other ones 2nd, toadette's musicroom, me and my brother had fun on this one but we had the most fun with 1st, wiggler's garden, we played this together on our ds's all the time on road trips, might fix our 2 ds's and 3ds battery to play the rest. Also the piranha plant battle was fun and the music was just Simon says from what I remember and didn't play the other 2 battles.
My Rankings: 5. Bowsers Pinball (the only one I have just played once and have barely any remembrance of) 4. The Garden One 3. Music Room 2. Donkey Kong One 1. Kameks Library (this is the one I have always loved and played by far the most)
Everyone has their favourites and honestly, none of the boards are either bad or mediocre, they are all fun to play. Anyways, my ranking would be: 5. Kamek's Library: I basically agree with all that you said. This is basically a combination of MP1's Wario's Battle Canyon and MP7's Neon Heights. I really like the visuals but there are only 4 types of events (all 1-5 Dice Block, Warp Books, that picture you have to clear to get like 20 coins or so and the observatory thing that can give you 30 coins if done right). My personal favourite part of the board is the pile of books the player can cross exchanging 10 coins. 4. DK's Stone Statue: I really like the concept, but I think they went way too far with the -10 coin barrel mechanic (from event space), literally on 50% of the map you take the risk of losing 10 coins each turn. Apart from that, the stage has a bit worse visuals, but the rest of mechanics excluding what I said about the barrel are fair enough and fun to take. Great risk/reward balance on the way of choosing where to go each time the player goes to the bifurcation and also I like that the star remains in the same place, which makes sense taking in count the board design. My favourite part is the far right area, where dry bones and the honeybee hive that give every coin you touch from that event are. 3. Wiggler's Garden: Possibly the most iconic board from this game, just because it's the first one everyone plays (if they first go to story mode of course). The design can be generic, but the variety used here is way better, so are the visuals. My only complain is the bad distribution of some spaces, because in one spot, there are up to 4 spaces in a row where the player only loses coins (Red, Red, -5 plant and Red), and then both Bowser's spaces are next to each other. That could have been done better. My 2 favourite parts of this board are the section after passing Piranha Plant's zone and the Watering Can zone. I said both because I like them equally. 2. Bowser's Pinball: This by far is the board where you can collect the most coins, and the ways of getting those are really fun. The music is also my favourite, and the visuals are stunning. However, the are 2 problems with this stage, Bowser's Zone (literally, dont get in there) and how almost everything is played in the upper area (5 out of 8 star spaces are in the upper area, and that's a problem, because 75% of the action will always happen on there). My personal favourite part is the roulette, and possibly the Star Zone, where the player can get up to 3 stars just by passing that area. 1. Toadette's Music Room: This is my favourite board because it's the only one where I can't find any problem with it and everything is just amazing. Visuals, Music, Mechanics and Design are almost perfect. Increasing the star price each time until 30 and then returning to 5 is one of the greatest ideas for a game like this. I just want to say, I really want this board to come back in a future Mario Party game (maybe MPS DLC). My personal favourite zone is the blue chairs zone (after the piano) until the violin.
Dk stone statue must’ve been pretty popular with nintedo since they remade it in Mario party 8 the differences being that there no dry bones(unless he’s playing) the statue is an actual statue instead of dk being turned to stone and it’s holding a platform instead of a log! There’s the secret lucky space path!m, the bigger size with many more paths to take, the fact that dk actually appears in person, the fact that the star actually moves the candy stores. Oh, abd my personal favorite:THE DIZZY DOWNSPOUT WATER SLIDE!
My top 5 would be like this (based on playing the games solo as well as a team with my BFF): 5. Kamek's Library - The multiple jars are cool, but against CPUs it's hard to beat solo as well as in co-op. Always one of us gets stuck at the top and in solo it really seems unfair as the CPUs spread out to different jars. 4. Bowser's Pinball Machine - The board definitely looks cool, but it has the same problem as Kamek's Library, the CPUs are out for blood. It would've been number 2 or 3 if the CPUs weren't relentless every time I played it solo or with my BFF. 3. DK's Stone Statue - It's an alright board, we play it when we get tired of playing the Toadette's Music Room and Wiggler's Garden boards. The CPUs are okay on this one, no unfair BS on this board. 2. Wiggler's Garden - It's a fun board that feels fair and also has the star move (I don't count number 4 & 5 as we never play those) and makes you strategise more and think ahead of where the star might be. 1. Toadette's Music Room - Our favorite board! The stars costing more over time makes you plan ahead on how to spend your coins, use your items wisely and can also be either very much in your favor with getting stars or be challenging to get ahead of the other team (without being unfair). Edit: We are the Green Machines, she always picks Yoshi and I always pick Luigi.
If i were to rank all 6 of the boards in MP ds(including the tutorial board, it would be: 6: kameks library 5: tutorial board, (I would love to actually play this.) 4: toadettes music room. 3: wigglers garden 2: bowsers pinball machine, ( i swear nintendo had an interest with pinball during the gamecube and ds era.) 1: dk stone statue.
When the tutorial map is higher than kamek libary, but seriously I always wanted to play on the tutorial board it even went so far that I made up ways to get it like beat the story mode without losing a single minigame as a kid.
You know tutorial mode? The little button in the bottom of party mode. Yeah it has a 6th board associated with it. Why isn’t this a board you can play without the tutorial mode. There is definitely space on the data since the board, map and 2 turns of a game on it. This is not missed content. This is just stupidity.
I agree with your 4th and fifth choices but I COMPLETELY disagree with your other three, the chaos and push back of DSS makes it my top spot and TMR is just neat through and through along with its variety and as a gambler I have a love hate relationship with BPM. But their boss fights is what I really love about the boards and I think my rankings are the same as my board rankings
I wish a golden pipe didn't always Bring you to the right jar, but let you choose
That would've been an interesting way to balance things out a bit on that board!
Yeah, like maybe have another item called the super golden pipe which costs 25 or 30 coins instead of 15 which will always bring you to the right one or something (I think it's good for there to be an item that brings you directly to the right star but it definitely shouldn't be as cheap as 15 coins). I've watched a couple of your videos, you're gonna go far dude, keep up the great content (I'm excited for the new Mario Party!!)
Thanks, I appreciate you saying that! I can't wait for Mario Party Superstars either. It's probably the game I've been most excited about this year!
The main reason why I hate toadeats music room is that the hammer bro does not exist, unless he has the invisible costume from mario odessey

My favorite board is dk stone statue because of how manny stars you can get

We must be kindred spirits, I have the exact same ranking order
My only problem with this is how Bowser's Pinball Machine doesn't have a Star gimmick like most of the other boards. Missed opportunity, I say.
My list would be something like
5. Kamek's Library
4. Wigglers's Garden
3. Toadette's Music Room
2. DK's Stone Statue
1 -Waluigi- Bowser Pinball
My list: (I like every board)
1) Bowser
2) DK
3) Toadette
4) Kamek
5) Wiggler
we have the same name!

Me: if you don't put kamek's library on number one, your opinion is bad..
Starting of with number 5, kamek's library...
WTH
Yeah everybody hates it, or at least likes it the least.
