When you say 'next disk' do you mean a different hard disk altogether? If yes then you would need to initialize it to a storage format of your choice which next to can utilize to store data. If no and that means there is a separate partition on the same disk, then hopefully it is not the disk where macOS stores its files. If that is the case then if you have data please take a backup and format to a storage format of your choice and start storing data. Hope it makes sense; Miss.

That shaded area represents files on system, be it apple or your data. You must have enormous amount of data on your system. Before attempting anything take a full time capsule backup, then try locate unnecessary files or application on your mac and delete a chunk (lets say 5GB). Then check whether the shaded area decreased in size, if yes then you are on the right track and repeat the process. Which OS are you on?
Back up all your data from both partitions to an external hard drive. merge both partitions. Copy back all your data from the external hard drive to your newly merged partition.
Please take a full time machine backup before attempting anything. After successful backup you can delete all partitions to merge them into one big partition. 64 x 4 GB. When you say drives I assume you are talking about partitions. If not then it is a different game altogether.

hi, i installed monterey on my late-2009 macbook (unsupported) using Open core legacy patch. Its working fine..except for partitions which cannot be seen. I made separate partition for Linux mint, which was installed successfully. But after reboot and pressing option, I could'nt see the Linux partition...by which i cannot select Linux partition.. so I am forced to select EFI boot (Monterey). Why is this happening? And how can I select between partitions? Is this happening because of OCLP ? Is the patch creating partition problem ? What did i do wrong? Would appreciate your help..thanks
My 2 cents. There is something fishy inside your macOS Monterey due to which you cannot see partitions. OLCP is just responsible for faking your mac hardware to the macOS software so that Monterey thinks it is booting on a compatible hardware. The reason you cannot boot is because mac boot loader cannot see an EFI boot Linux partition for some reason. I hope you created the EFI boot Linux partition.
When I downloaded my monterey by patch it gave the same problem, but I didn't download linux or any software, only when I turn on my mac it only starts with option and clicking on the patch, when I click on the mac hd of the folder of ?, and only starts with the patch, do you know how I can solve it? That makes me angry

My Mac OS is on the end so it’s on the left of the circle not on the right. How do i increase space of a 1tb hard drive that is split down the middle with 500gb Mac OS full space with data on the left and 500gb of free space on the right
I am suprised that it is on the left of the circle. Anyways there will be a shaded area indicating the disk space used by the current macOS installation on the left portion. You can drag the handle from the middle to the left till outside the shaded area (do not encroach on the shaded area), leave ample space after the shaded area (~30-40GBs) for macOS installation to function properly.
I have a question about partitions. I am trying to reboot my computer with updated software after a crash and grey screen. On Disk utility First Aid , my "Internal SSD Media" is refusing to repair itself and is saying operation has failed. I read it is because I am using it? It this true or do I need to partition it? I don't want to erase my data as none of it is saved. :/ Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Separated Partitions? Partitions are meant to be separated by boundaries. If I surmise correctly then you would have to delete the partition in between the separated partitions. This would combine the partition you are deleting with succeeding one. Then delete this combine big partition to hopefully achieve your end result. Hope it helps.

What about the Partition type, can we change the different partition to different partition type ?
I have not tried it but possible. Would advise you to take a backup of data on the partition and then convert it coz converting will erase all data.
