    Possibly the best side control escape series I've seen. Love these applicable, concise videos. Helped this white belt a ton!

      Man, every instructional I watch from you guy's gives at least one explanation of a detail that I really understand deeper. So useful for teaching kids. Teaching what to do is useful, but understanding why, and the why not, through experience is the fast track. I guess everyone is trying to do this with varying degrees of success. You guy's often nail it. Such useful content. One day I'll make the journey from NZ, Spatch's motherland, and come roll.

    Im a white belt at 180lbs and my training partners are 25-75lbs heavier than me and I'm always getting crushed. I'm getting better at escapes but when I get crushed, boy, all the shrimping won't work.
    I've been looking for a video exactly like this. With some practice I'm sure ill be able to pull off my escapes.
    Cheers

    In a no-gi application, would you roll the neck hand towards the rear of the neck? Like cupping the neck with your palm in order to strengthen that frame? Just curious if you can address this escape in a no-gi position. Great stuff!!

    Great, great stuff. Two questions:
    1. What do you do if they block your hip with their far-side elbow?
    2. What do you do if they pop their hips up and do that annoying shit where they run around you like the hand of a clock?
    Truly, fantastic stuff. Thanks so much for putting this together :)

    • @EpLegendsNetwork
      @EpLegendsNetwork 3 года назад +1

      You need to think when you lock the hip with your frame… that your hip pushes into there elbow blocking your hip to open there elbow and make space, now if they circle your head, you need to be read for the transfer of pressure to open, biggest thing to help is far leg from from your opponent should always try to get onto your opponent and then stay on them so they do the work to move you and with that, you reguard.

    Only issue I have is when I go underhook, they can swim their arm round and block my hips I am guessing I need to just br faster in that case or cause a scramble?

    • @EpLegendsNetwork
      @EpLegendsNetwork 2 года назад +1

      You need to not be complacent in your spot, bumping hips small back and forth so your opponent can’t settle there weight or predict when you’ll escape etc.
