    Time flies and things change, but Dell G15 is still going strong. Here's how it's kept up over the last two years and how I mainly use it now. There are definitely problems recently, but nothing so bad that's unusable.

      It might be lowering you’re performance like it did to mine. I think we’re safe from the bricking problem since it hasn’t happened right after it was installed. If you believe you’re laptop is running fine I wouldn’t worry about it.

      How do you re download the alien ware command center if delted. all this old software hasnt been updated by dell i have the same laptop and my G mode stopped working a while ago so i tried all the methods to fix it and now im stuck with a broken alienware command center that i downloaded from dell site.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  5 месяцев назад +2

      @contentdeleted4978 Alienware Command Center is on the Dell support site for our laptop. I usually grab the full version and install it. It takes a while and after restarting you have to open it and it’ll likely ask to more updates or component installs. New updates also use the Windows App Store so you might want to check and see if you’re up to date there.

    GG, got the same laptop, remember going out to dell's retail outlet and buying it exactly after you posted your first dell g15 video....I got the 165hz 3060 model as well...Runs fine like new, and yea same brightness issue, but apart from that, its solid...Did change the ram sticks , added ssd as well.....Stopped worrying abt temps long back once i realized that 94C is what its gonna hit on the cpu side and 86 on the gpu side no matter what....So that software you mentioned, using that the brightness can be controlled without turning off Optimus?
    Edit: Which bios version are you on currently? Still 1.9.0 or 1.13.0? I am on 1.9.0 atm

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  10 месяцев назад +1

      I upgraded to the 1.13 bios. Working fine now. Looks like they fixed the bios problem. As for the brightness software yeah it works with Optimus. I think it’s kind of like the gamma setting in games. Doesn’t really change the brightness via hardware, but it dims the screen. Works if you need Optimus for the battery life in a pinch.

    Hey m8, great video. I would appreciate some advice: my friend has the same laptop and he asked me for help to upgrade his RAM. So we ordered 2x16GB DDR4 Kingston Fury RAM modules (1.2V of course). The laptop detects the new RAM with no issues, and it even passed the "quick diagnostics test" however when my friend actually uses his laptop normally, he gets the "your PC encountered an error and needs to restart" on a blue screen. It happens when multitasking. We tested the RAM modules individually and strangely no issues then. The problem only occurs when the 2 RAM modules are both inserted. Any idea what could be causing this?

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  14 дней назад +1

      Since they work individually I would think there might be a problem with the RAM slot. I’m guessing you used the bottom slot when testing one stick at a time. Try one stick in the top one if it stays in that way. It could be damaged or maybe just the contacts need to cleaned or dusted.

      The Dell BIOS can be updated on AC adapter only with no battery attached, just use "/forceit" command in command prompt. There is an article on the Dell website how to do it, just type in Google "How to Force a BIOS Update on a Dell Laptop", the second result from top to bottom.

    Hello, question, you used a Gen4x4 SSD for the Dell G15 5515...did it work better than a Gen 3x4 SSD? Do you really get better performance with a Gen 4x4 SSD for this laptop? Or is it simply spending more money? GREETINGS

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  2 месяца назад +1

      No, it doesn’t work any better than Gen 3. Some Gen 4 drives can be found pretty cheap though especially if they’re the slower speed ones so you should shop around for both. A slow Gen 4 can be about the speed of a fast Gen 3 and be a better price sometimes.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  3 месяца назад

      I try to stick with good brand names because they’re more reliable. Ram isn’t so much of a problem since they don’t fail very often, but SSDs do tend to fail so at least get a good brand for that.

    Hey mate, just wanted to say hey, how are you going and that my Dell G15 is still running perfectly (my other older Dell still runs like new for comparison). Also, I have taken this laptop away with me many times and never had any real problems.
    Ive only had my G15 for one and a half years though, so i must be a bit behind the rest of the world. Lol. But can still play Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV and even COD really well. Ive never even reformated it. Although i am forever doing my updates when im home, as i try to avoid such when away. Maybe i should do this one day soon.
    I did want to ask you, did you see much improvement by adding the extra ram (32gb) and where did you see improvements? I wouldn't know what to do with the xtra sticks, is why I have been so hesitant to do an upgrade. Take care. 👍

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  Год назад

      No improvement for gaming with 32gb. Current games just don’t use that much especially since there is dedicated vram on the gpu too. I had 32gb to help with video editing but even then I didn’t use much of it.

    Got the 120hz model, same issue with brightness. Also, I reinstalled windows, and now because of shitty Alienware control center the fans won't kick in until it loads properly or i do it manually. So around a min+ it just gets fried by itself.
    Other than that and the fact that i accidentally damaged the screen a bit (never spray the screen cleaning spray directly on the screen!! The backlit now has a slim line) it's a pretty good laptop. 2 years of usage as well, only upgraded storage, added 512gigs. Great in gaming and everything

      Is it the model with the same battery size? If it is just give it some time. I don’t know what it is about Windows, but it seems to eat battery life after setting up for my devices.
      What I do now when I get a new Windows device is update everything first, then I leave it on, plugged in, idle, and don’t let it sleep for a day (screen off is ok). Let Windows take care of everything it want to in the background then try a battery life test in low power mode. Let me know if it helps.

    Good morning, excuse me, could you tell me which model of RAM do you recommend for this model? Since I have the same equipment but the 8 version of Ram and I want to expand it but I have read that it is incompatible with some brands and models of Ram.
    I don't speak English and I had to use a translator, I hope you understand my purpose.

    • @Loaded0
      @Loaded0  Год назад +1

      All DDR4 SODIMM ram should work, but some don't run at the full 3200mhz speed. If you want a cheap compatible ram I recommend Crucial. If Amazon ships to you you can try this link (an affiliate link for me):
      amzn.to/3rxVVJK
      More expensive versions or brands will have lower CL timings, but they don't offer a huge performance difference for the price. If you want to search for more types look for DDR4 3200mhz SODIMM ram that works at 1.2v and most should work at full speed. Be sure to read reviews though from purchasers to see if they work full speed on AMD hardware.

      @@alejandrolucas2087 Definitely dual channel so get a kit or two of the same ram if you can.
      As for the control panel I have most settings set to "let the 3d application decide" and everything else as default. Since games usually have their own graphical settings it's better to use those.
