I gotta say I love this!! Add it to stuff I want to trial!
Encouragement for people who think “wow I can’t do what Allee has done!” Firstly, she has said herself she’s not a makeup artist, so YOU can learn yourself! Secondly, to learn means practicing! I recommend practicing all different techniques BEFORE that party or event etc okay? And honestly, focus predominantly on one area at a time! Get it right and fast and then practice your next part of your face. Get tutorials from both professionals AND others like Allee and ask people questions!! Thirdly, you don’t have to have every brush (says the girl with a few brush rolls lol) BUT I do highly recommend looking after your brushes! Don’t just use and dump them, clean them!! Most brands will have a brush cleaner and you don’t need much but a decent brush (so not cheap but not super expensive necessarily either) will make things easier but only if you keep them in good condition!! And don’t be afraid to use your fingers!! Now I am NOT a professional makeup artist and I’m forever thankful that I have good lips because otherwise I go into anaphylaxis! But I LOVE playing with my eyes!!! So for me I make those my standout as best I can. Also, I’m not a professional Ive done professional makeup for 3(?) weddings and a number of 21st birthdays (which here are essentially the equivalent make up wise etc). Also! Ive learnt how to do hair! Allee has some great tutorials especially on hair pieces but other than that, ask people to watch and then again practice! I actually started learning hair as a kid on barbie dolls! Not kidding! So so think, “oh I’ll never be able to do what Allee has done or I’ll never be able to look like her” you CAN do it but it takes time and practice and ASK QUESTIONS! Secondly I hope you won’t look like Allee, she is beautiful, but you want to find your own style and beauty and look beautiful in a way that suits YOUR face and your level of comfort!! In that way you will achieve what Allee does but in a way that works for you!!! And last suggestion, have a fast makeup routine for everyday use (IF you want to use it very regularly) but also work on the make up routine that takes a bit longer but is for those special events!!! Just never look like an barbie doll, just a brighter more enhanced sense of yourself!
Oh I actually have one more suggestion, because of my illnesses, I do have to be careful how much I use any product on my skin…. However, mostly I have decent skin after researching the heck out of skin care and using a good cleaning and skin care routine! Don’t be afraid of oils (your skin actually needs them!) and don’t be afraid to ask for samples. Don’t over clean but it’s okay to use some cleaning products….. this will mean you have cleaner skin and need less makeup too!! Go well everyone!
