Illan is a phenomenal drummer but Atom made angels drum beats iconic

that outro chorus where he adds that extra fill sticks out in my head as some of the coolest drumming ever. From 3:58 on its just some master class shit. I dont even know the first thing about drums but man thats so good. He changes the beat just enough to add some suspense and makes the ending to the song memorable.
Well, Atom has had a lot of experience with other bands.
He BASICALLY puts his life into chapters. Which I think is pretty sweet.
He simply closed his AVA chapter and is moving on. Their new drummer is just as amazing. c;

Probably one of the most underrated drummers ever in my opinion.
I absolutely adore this guy. What a drummer.
People may throw rocks at me but my favorite drummers are Atom Willards and Travis Barker... oh and The Rev... but man Atom Willards was way underrated, so good but not too popular... definetly one of the best with good rhythms and sick fills while keeping the coolness and the calmness of AvA, just INSANE
New drummer was in Guitar Center Drum Off, his performance was amazing.
And he plays piano. :P

@bufflopor nope, it is filmed like that! thats how music videos are made, atom isn't miming, he just isn't playing that right stuff - cos he doesn't need to! =D
This is for a music video, Usually high energy music videos have these characteristic movements by the cameramen...creative flexibility.

It's no big deal, I just think maybe that's why he started smiling cause he didn't play what he played on the record
If I'm not mistaken, this is a complete take shot that was edited to fit the video. Hence, the shakiness.

Willard seems definitely to be good and enjoying what he do, looking forward to see him playing drums when Danko Jones comes to Norway november 25.
But why, oh why, is the sound and video out of sync several places? See 0:43 to 0:50 for some of them, but several others during whole video. Sorry, it just screws my head when sound and picture match this badly. Was the sound from the take that disastrous?

@bufflopor Because it's the studio recording with a live take. The music you hear isn't them actually playing there.

@MagicButterStick Yeah, that's kinda what I assumed, that's also why I asked if the original sound from the video was lousy. Tbh, would rather have the original sound than the studio recording cus it looks pretty bad with all the drum smashing out of sync ... Atom is a good drummer, no doubt. I was a concert with Danko Jones here in Norway late november 2011, was a blast. Too bad the video is mildly "fake" then.

@bufflopor its cos he isnt actually playing properly! :D he is pretty much...miming to the song! so he doesnt need to play everything correctly, its not out of sync he's just playing anything he feels pretty much xD

@bad88habit Well, in reply, i do listen to a lot of jimmy eat world / millencolin / pop punk, so i guess i wanted to try a different style out !!! I dont listen to JUST hardcore punk sounding stuff, so i dont think there's anything wrong with that. !!! if you dont like it thats fine... i write the music for myself !! if others like / dislike.... so be it. oh and one more thing, i dont care if im considered 'punk' or not !!! i'm myself... and thats all that counts to me.
