It’s a very good point.. But sadly you’ll never get it.. I’ve raced single make championships on bigger bikes where they’re meant to be stock but it’s never the case…
As someone looking to get into biking and having his eye on maybe getting a Grom this is amazing footage!! I get that a lot of it is rider skill but still it shows just how much fun can be had on small bikes. Not sure if you’ve heard of something called Goodwood Revival. If not check it out - it’s basically a car and bike meet but they only race old stuff (think 1970s and before all the way back to Model T type stuff, and same for bikes). In one such race you will see original 1960s minis racing similar aged American muscle cars and their races are exactly like this - ‘Murican muscle’ powers away down the straight, but struggle to get the anchors down in time for the corner and the little Minis (and other smaller cars like Alfas etc) pop a wheel in the air and sneak on through in the corner and stay ahead until the next straight…..absolutely a hoot to watch….and this video is a perfect example of that sort of racing. I bet you and the other riders had great fun until it was red flagged..ps ‘threw him self at Race Control’ 😂. Def think I’ve found a new channel to subscribe to. Peace from here in the UK mate 🤟🙏😎
Hey mate, thanks for the comment, honestly, Groms are about as much fun as you can have on two wheels, I've ridden and raced bikes all over the world and just love the fun of Grom racing.. Goodwood? yes, been a few times to both the festivl and the revival, I'm originally from Hornchurch in Essex.. 🙂
Hi Bud, I'm down in South Wales and HAVE to get a GROM. I've got an Injury so cannot ride the R1s/ Ninjas so looked for something I could Mod/ get my hands dirty without further hurting my back. I'm looking for UK Mechanics/ GROM Tuners so IF ANYONE knows please drop a msg/ Link CHEERS.
@@leeedwards7721 not sure if you are on Facebook, but if so I think there’s a few groups with bods from the UK in the, who might be able to point you in the right direction.
Love your lines. It's clear they have more motor on the straights but you keep reeling them in on the brakes. Impressive. That front brake/tire chatter on turn 1. Punishing those brakes like Toprak. Love it. What tires do you run?
Hi, I’m this session I was running std size Mitas MC24 Super softs. I have since changed to 110-90 / 120-80 Pirelli Diablo slicks Soft which have dropped my lap time further.
I want to keep the bike as much Grom as possible, dropping different motors and going to the hgher capacity would take away the fun of it for me... I have a big bike to race on full size tracks, I prefer to be the one on the lower powered bike still catching the bigger engined riders..... there's a certain satisfaction in that...
Like to see everyone running stock off the showroom floor with the exception of tires and exhaust. A person’s body weight could make a difference.

Wow, that was an amazing turnout for minis! Great riding and corner entry speed! Mini racing and track days are the best!
Thanks mate, yes we do HET a good turn out, mainly Ohvale bikes but we often get up to 10 minis on a good night…. Is soo much fun!

Thanks, appreciate you watching and commenting.. yeh, I’m definitely no Luca Marini but I like to think I can hold my own on the anchors 😊
What kind of tires and specs you use (120 front 130 back)?
These were Mitas MC35 super softs 120/130 yes but have also run Pirelli Diablo slicks… 110.
@@dwninetynine thanks. I couldn’t find Kenda KD1, so I just ordered Pirelli Diablo Rosso 120/130 to my Grom.
I would love to have that in my country. Unfortunately not many ride Grom in Denmark 👎🏻
Would love to see more of your race Grom
Hey thanks, have a race meeting coming up… I’ll be sure to make a short movie of it….
That's me in front😀
Well till you got me..
@@1selfmoto Haha, yeh was a good session... 🙂
What size and type tires are you running?

Slap the 300 motor in it
