As for See How They Run, British people and audiences loved it. They said it might be coming out on December 21st in the USA and on the 20th of December in Great Britain, the week after Amsterdam which was a box office bomb over here in the U.K. despite it is only a DVD only release for them and the USA it’s great news it is available in three different formats, 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.

More than twenty years ago, certain film companies refused to release certain, much wanted, films onto DVD (the premium format at that time).
This situation provided an opportunity for profit minded groups (criminals/video pirates) to make a ton of money making those films available to ordinary people (I don’t agree with the practice, but it happened).
“Those who refuse to learn from history are destined to repeat it.”
It all boils down to the following choice: do Disney want to spend money on making top quality discs (which will earn them a lot of money) or do they want to spend time and money chasing multiple moving targets and in court costs, with the possibility of regaining little of their outlay.
Back at the beginning of the century, the film companies made the first choice, and made money…
(I believe that I have already seen certain CBS & Disney ‘properties’ that have not had ‘official’ disc releases, on sale in DVD format, at certain high profile on-line retailers. If Disney maintains it’s apparent direction, it can only get worse.)

Disney is quietly trying to phase out these 4K physical media releases, because they’re trying to force customers to stream their new movies, also why does Disney still release “DVD only” movies in 2022? How many discs have you designed over the years. Personally, with my Media Label, I have designed somewhere over 100 myself.
I can definitely assure you, designing a custom disc, with extras, menus with custom pictures and motion graphics , chapters, ect., rendering time and then testing to make sure the disc and all the menus work correctly, takes a lot longer than an hour. Try a few DAYS, for bigger projects... And even if you just straight render an MP4 file to iso and then burn to blu ray, with no extras at all, my hour plus of time is worth more money wise than the $12-15 I might pay for a disc, one of the other people designed already. So to me, I will gladly pay it and come out money and time ahead, with a much more complete designed product.
But that is just me. If you have the free time to do that and are happy with a play only disc, more power to you. Everyone has different or personal goals.

I was at the theater a couple weeks ago with the intent to watch the Avatar rerelease. We were in the theater for about 10 mins after the showtime and nothing was on the screen. So I went outside and they said oh yeah, you were supposed to get a notification but our 3D projector broke down last night. So they gave us the choice of whatever movie we wanted to see, along with 4 passes each. The 2 movies that were starting around then were Smile and Barbarian. We went with Barbarian and it was surprisingly good. Neither of us heard anything about it. It's always cool when you see a movie you know nothing about and you are pleasantly surprised.
Disney's stance doesn't surprise me, because they are working toward having every movie in their IP on streaming, whether it's Disney Plus, Hulu or whatever else they control. They want to control how and when you watch things. Just like they want to buy out every studio they can. That's why I try to grab the 4K of every movie that I like and want to rewatch, because you never know if or when they will delay releasing it on streaming, censor it, pull it from the site, or price you out of the service. I like the freedom of knowing that whenever I want to watch a movie I really like, I don't have to worry, because I have the disc. Screw Disney and their tactics!

The song, "when Love is Gone" was cut out of the theatrical release but released on the original VHS so many people, like myself, grew up with the song as part of the movie. Fans have been wishing it could be restored for years but they apparently lost the film. Well a year or two ago they made a huge announcement that they found the film and were restoring the song for a future 4K release. Something that greatly excited many. Not only were they going to release it on 4K but it was going to have the restored song! Then there was no news for a long time. Disney's been hostile to home video since the VHS days of the 80s, with their "Vault" program and the backlog of media that they sat on without releasing for decades before streaming was even a thing. Now that they're buying other studios and franchises left and right, they get to spread that anti-home video policy across lots of films, tv shows, etc.

Every limited steelbook sells out on day of release. Some of that is people buying to resell on Ebay, some for their own collections. The fact that they sell on Ebay for more than retail is also telling.
These facts alone shows the demand. The number of views for 4K unboxings is also a clue.
Sadly, Disney no longer has any clue.
