The struggle is real! As a fellow physical media collector, I know your pain. You just have to give in to your home being organized and decorated around your Blu-ray, DVD, and collectibles. Which means a lot of shelves! Thanks for the fun video.
@@donnellcoleman7784 I feel like a beginner compared to some as I only have about 6,500 movies/seasons of TV; but a small house in a country where all properties are small (UK) and a wife who, quite reasonably, wants physcal media kept to one dedicated room (and bookcases elsewhere) means a tough fit...
I've been here too many times. I used to always try to keep things orderly where if I ran out of space I had to consider getting rid of something if I needed to. I don't do that anymore but I still occasionally purge/sort through titles especially duplicates. Might need bigger storage units! I try to leave room to grow when I can now so I can add things without stuff on the floor, etc.
Just a heads up. That Last house on the left with the woman on the cover is actually the original. The other two are the remake. Also that version of Chucky has a better transfer than what is included in the 7 movie collection.
If you think that's a large overspill you should see the 4 feet piles of discs all over my bedroom and main living room... because none will fit in the actual storage room with floor to ceiling wall shelves full up (also with piles all over the floor)! I agree with your approach though; however finding space to actually lay stuff out on the floor to then put back on the shelves is tough as I've let it get so bad. I appreciate you giving me some impetus to try though... I *will* still end up with some multiple copies of one or two movies though where I deliberately set out to get all the different steelbook designs (!). But only the 'playing' copy on the shelf maybe.

What I did was pop the DVD copy of It and put two in its place. So my steel book contains both. 👍 I see you got some 4K disks. I have not heard from you that you can play them. I enjoy organizing and alphabetizing DVDs. I find it relaxing. I do it while watching a movie or TV or something that doesn't require looking at the screen for the entire time.
They released a 4k set of all 3 ring movies together in one box. I want to look into getting that. Ring and ring two are my favorites but rings isnt too bad. It has good moments.
I don't have the Hollywood versions of the ring but I have the boxset of the Japanese originals. just one of those boxset I saw on a shelf and said yup! never watched them. but it's a cool looking box so looks good sitting on the shelf.

My organisation is a bit complicated. I have 3 shelves on a wall. I have TV Boxsets on the left and then movie boxsets (across all 3 shelves to distribute the weight). I then have TV series and then movie franchises. I then start movies alphabetically to the end of the 3 shelves. Take for instance the Scream movies, they go on the end under S because they are all titled Scream but something like my James Bond movies are at the other end because each movie has a different name but want them together in release order. I also like to keep all the movies with slipcovers together rather go un-slipped, slipped, un-slipped etc.

Just like us all, you have wasted years by stacking your media into cabinets and what not. Of course it depends on how much space you got and how you would like your set up. I would use walls from one end to another by making shelves. Devide the entire lenght by the lenght of one cabinet and make racks so to speak. It's going to be stronger than just one large shelve, that will bend under the weight. For the height, you add a few more inches to the height of a dvd box. Depending on what type of media you have and how much, like you VCR's, you could install that in another room or on an other wall, with other dimensions. Sell your cabinets and hang your beautiful posters in the hallway leading up to your movie room. Of course it's just a suggestion. I will add some comments as I progress through your video... I wonder if a collector is better off by owning a movie in different releases? Dvd, then the Bluray etc... Where does it stop? Many people thrive or used to thrive on movies with massive extra"s. It's the movie you want, right? You wasted time to enlarge your collection on spending money for nothing. But that is a choice a collector makes. Spending money on 4K for movies of yesteryear in particular is your choice. But I wouldn't do that.
I moved into my apartment one year ago and still, 90% of my movies are stored away in closets. At first I felt that I might not want my collection to collection taking up all the space on the shelves...but im stafging to change my mind. Just a lot of movies to go through.
Physical media can be a hassle mess but I wouldnt have it any other way. Physical is the best in my opinion. I collect video games and movies. DVDs, bluray and 4k. Great video. I just found your channel and I just subscribed. It sucks about best buy. If you didnt know they will stop selling physical media out of their stores and online in February of next year. I feel like they won't last after this. I feel like their business will go down hill for sure. Physical media sells but digital owners be be like no digital is better. But they don't own the digital content. It can be pulled at anytime and then it will be gone. Physical you will have it 😊. I do the same. I get rid of my doubles when it comes to everything. Including games and I open up everything.

Im surprised you dont seem to have any of the Walmart exclusive glow in the dark horror movie covers
I don’t shop at Walmart tbh
When you said the vhs player was sitting next to your car I thought you were gonna make a joke but nope they LITERALLY did leave it next to your car 😂
hopeful it was just some harmless stalker who thought she needed a VCR as a gift. lol
The universe really just said here you go!
Look for any Movies Remasterd by Quality Botique companys like Arrow Video, Kino Lorber, Scream Factory etc, they usually have Mastered in 4K Blu-Ray Transfer which makes them the highest quality 1080p Blu-Ray you could own. Especially versions which state a Remastered in 4K from "ORIGINAL CAMERA NEGATIVE" There a Keeper !
A Nice Collection by the way. 👌 😊
I got sooo many of those, check out the haul on the main channel to see which ones!
It’s so funny cause the fact that you were opening drawers on the most random areas and there movies just shows the space lmaooooo . And I do agree with the saw DVDs ! I love them and they are so interactive plus the transition from dvd to blu ray or 4K with the saw movies ( at least the originals ) it just doesn’t work , it looks bad so that’s why I only own spiral + jigsaw on blu ray lol
The early 2000s shit needs to be on DVD!! It’s hard to explain to the girls that don’t get it
Physical media rules 💿🎥📺
I’m stressing so much with my collection…I had 4500
Down to maybe 1500 now
I really don’t watch all of them anymore
I love horror… keep buying 4ks and steelbooks
Double dipping
It’s stressful being a collector lol
I have over 6000 in my movie collection so try to organize that lol physical rules your amazing ❤
I moved into my apartment one year ago and still, 90% of my movies are stored away in closets. At first I felt that I might not want my collection to collection taking up all the space on the shelves...but im stafging to change my mind. Just a lot of movies to go through.
It’s so worth having them in your space imo
@@KylieRoseanne Might start putting them up next week. I think putting them in another order might make it a bit more fun.
I keep almost all of my movies in dvd albums to save space;p
tragic :/
i want hocus pocus 2 dvd, tell them they need to make it plz more ppl the better
You look amazing in glasses
Including games and I open up everything.
how do i enter the giveaways? great vid
