Peloton Heart Rate Band unboxing and hands-on!

Today we unbox and go hands-on with the New Peloton Heart Rate Band.
I think a lot of us sort of ignored this when it first came out prior to the Peloton Guide, but I am actually really liking it (much more so than the Guide)... watch to video to see why.

I’m in my second one they come dead “red single battery line” and won’t charge. Just sent one back and second one says the same thing.

I really like this version of their hrm. It’s works really well and I love that you can see the zone changes. I haven’t had any issues so far.

I got this a couple months ago and love it. Connects well with the phone and the bike and has the zones right on the band so you can check your heart rate on an out door run or boot camp class. Way better than the hrm they sent with my bike.

I love the band. I got it 3 weeks ago with my bike plus package and it works flawlessly. I have a Samsung phone and I heard that the option to connect to the app will be coming soon. It woukd be great to get more data for outdoor workouts

I’ve ordered three of these POS’s and none of them will charge. Peloton apparently dropped the ball on QA with these things. 🙄

Curious, do u need this when u already have an Apple Watch? For the bike plus.

no the Bike Plus has Apple Gym Kit so it will support the Apple Watch (except for Lane Break I believe). Apple Watch is also semi-supported on the regular bike and tread through the app, but its not as good and can occasionally have issues.

Did you go with a large or small? I measured my forearm and was surprised to see I fit in the large category. My build seems similar to yours, so curious to see what size you went with.

What are the benefits to monitoring your heart while riding on the Peloton?

some like it for more accurate calorie burn counting, others to assess cardiac improvement. Personally I use it to monitor how much time I'm spending in various HR Zones to better analyze my training throughout the week, as well as monitor fatigue and keep workouts within my intended goals.

it is quiet a lot of money. you can get a wahoo for half the price. is it really worth paying £90 for it.

Wahoo does make a comparable armband, but it costs $79 so pretty close

The benefits of the wahoo are ANT+ support and longer battery life. Design-wise I prefer the Peloton one but both are great options.
