  • First review video, a bit raw, a bit long, but I've just received the new Peloton Heart Rate Band, and I figured I'd share my experience with it, because it's good! Yes it syncs with Tread + and yes it's worth changing from whatever device you were using before. If you want to skip to the final just fast forward to wear it looks like I'm going to pass out, that's where I summarise my thoughts. Sorry it's long, I was having too much, and if you hate it, I'll just do a summary one.

    interesting I was going to buy the new heart rate monitor but I didn't know you could connect the newer Orange theory wrist band. I tried to connect it once I got the bike through blue tooth but it didn't work. Do you know how to connect it?

      Have you tried pairing mode? You need to hold down the button on top until it blinks faster. Then you should go to advanced settings for Bluetooth on the bike and it should show up. Good luck!

    I just received my Peloton Heart Rate Band, and I went through a 30-minute spinning bike ride to test it out. It is very easy to pair, and it seems very accurate. It is a very comfortable forearm band and quite unlike the older Peloton chest band. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about the band cutting out in the middle of a workout. Unlike other devices I have used in the past, it stays connected and is very dependable. The only thing that confused me somewhat was the colors display of heart rate levels on the band as you are working out. I originally expected to see the same colors on the band that we normally see on the monitor (for the bike or tread+). Instead, I noticed that the level indicator lights on the band, after level one was surpassed, were displayed as differing intensities of yellow rather than the distinct colors we see on the monitor. I am not sure this is normal. At any rate, it's not a big deal for me but very noticeable.

      Thanks for your view @Duck4212. I'm glad it's not just me that enjoys the band. That's really interesting though on the different colours. I don't think I had the same experience to you, in that my colours change, but I'll do another workout today to check. I personally think the colours on the band are a 'nice to have' and like you say, the best thing is the ease of connection, comfort, and not cutting out. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi, I am getting my bike plus delivered in 3 days, can't wait! I opted for the package with the heart rate band, weights, mat and water bottle. I saw this review when you first uploaded it from that I decided that if I got a bike I'd get the band too so thank you 😊
    Is it still working well for you and how long does it last between charges?
    Do you know if it works using the app for floor workouts and outdoor workouts?

      Hey Rachel! Sorry for my slow reply. Yep still using it and love it. I turn it off after each workout. It lasts maybe 7 days. I have two, one for my treadmill and one for the bike / peloton guide :) hope your liking your bike plus :)

      @@rachelhelman2098 it’s pretty good Rachel. It motivates me to do strength which is what matters right. I have a TV set up in the gym so it works great. It’s not cheap though. I’d try and check it out maybe at their store if you can.

      The heart rate monitor should sync with your app. Mine connects to my iPhone so you can now have HR data in your app when you work out.

    I am also in Australia in Sydney and really want the Tread. How much was it to import to Australia?

    • @techseekinghuman6605
      @techseekinghuman6605  2 года назад

      Hey Stuart. I had a shipping container with all my stuff so I wasn’t just shipping peloton gear. Based on their most recent earnings report they said the tread is more valuable to them than the bike in terms of market size so my guess is they can’t be too far away from launching here :)

    Hey! Thanks for the video. My only concern is that if my Apple Watch Activity doesn’t sync (on my phone) with my peloton workout using the new band after without needing my watch during the workout. Just want to make sure I can see my results on my Apple Watch activity and it work with my Apple Watch competitions with others!
    Do you happen to know? Thanks!

      Mmm trying to decipher this one. So, what I think, if you are using the peloton app, with an apple watch, they have to stay paired. Ie you can’t go for a run with just your watch and leave your phone behind. Now I think what you are asking is, can you use the heart rate of the peloton band, have it synced to the app on the phone, which then syncs to your apple watch also? I can try it for you, I have an apple watch around here somewhere. I guess the only time I really ever used the Apple Watch app and the phone app was on holiday and I did look down at my wrist so I guess it’s a good point. Plus I have also used a wahoo tickr which can connect to two devices at once to monitor my HR. Anyway let me know and I’m happy to test it for you :)

      Open the peloton app on your phone
      Hit the three bars bottom right in app (more)
      Select health app
      Select connect to health app
      That should push your workout data into apple activity. That’s the process I use to send my tread workouts.

      no, you can't have both connected at the same time. i tried it lol.

    • @techseekinghuman6605
      @techseekinghuman6605  2 года назад +1

      Yep you can. I tend to find the Apple Watch isn't as accurate as the dedicated HR bands. It could at times disconnect also (in my experience). It really depends how much you are focused on the HR. If you, like me, are a bit obsessed by it, then get a dedicated HR band, if you are just wanting average readings and convenience, the Apple Watch is fine :)

    anyone else experiencing a major diffence in estimated calories? my apple watch estimates a higher number of calories after the same workout and the peloton cuts that estimate in half pretty much.
