    Good unboxing & overview!
    Lately I've been seeing more commericals for this brand's bikes when watching TV with the Mrs.

      They have been pushing the brand really hard, I have been riding it for 4 months now, and it has been fantastic. I see ads all the time on RUclips and I own the bike, there marketing machine s in full gear!

    Thank you for answering my question regarding continuous flashing blue light. Had no idea I needed to disconnect from the strap!!!!

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  4 года назад

      Glad it helped. Yes, if you do not disconnect, you will go through batteries really fast, which I think is the cause of most people's issues with the Peloton HRM.

    Can you get extra straps without the monitor? For example family members to each have their own and clip on the one sensor

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  3 года назад +1

      You can it is just a matter of getting a strap that has the appropriate distance for the clasp. Amazon will likely have them.

    Thanks for this. I have had my Pelaton for a year, and the Heart Rate Monitor is, put kindly, a hot mess. Maybe this will help.

      Hope it helps. The biggest issue tends to be the battery. I use mine only as a backup, when the battery is low is when issues seem to arise.

    So confused, are the electrodes the part where you click in the battery device or is it the patches of grey area that are on the band. Also, someone said you should moisten that area so that is why I am trying to figure it out. It seems like you called both areas electrodes too? I just got a brand new one and it was connecting and disconnecting throughout entire ride...not like the first one I had with no problems (except it stopped working after only 3 months:( Lastly, can you get the two metal areas wet of course after removing battery piece?

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  3 года назад +1

      You will moisten the grey area of the strap. No need to moisten the snaps that connect to the strap. Big thing is to make sure that the battery is properly charged, as when it is starting to get low, you will have issues. Also make sure to disconnect the device from the strap after use, otherwise you will find the battery will drain very quickly. Cheaper batteries may also hamper performance, sometimes batteries off amazon are not the best quality, so getting them locally and a reputable brand is advised. Hope that helps.

    Great video, when washing the straps. Can l pop it in the washing machine?

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  3 года назад

      I just recommend handwashing, only takes a few seconds. If you throw it in the washer as it is a long elasticated band, I imagine there is a risk of it getting stretched out or caught in the agitator of the machine.

    Can I use this with the Echelon app? works with Wahoo cadence sensor?

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  3 года назад

      If it connects via Bluetooth it should work. That being said Wahoo makes some great HRM's.

    Hi. Thanks for the video.
    My HRM is very inaccurate lately. Jumping from the 60s to 200. My Apple Watch has my in mid 100s. Could that mean I need a new battery?

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  4 года назад

      Soteria, there could be a few reasons the erroneous readings. The strap could be moving across skin while breathing or moving and tightness needs adjustment. Sometimes, the strap just loosens over time and then hits a threshold where it starts giving problems.Simply adjusting the desired tightness can reduce HR spikes. It is also potentially that there isn't enough moisture to gain a proper reading. As you suggest it could also be a low batter, use a battery tester to see if the battery needs replaced, or you can use the general rule of thumb for active users that you should replace the battery approximately every six months. Hope this is helpful, and reduces the number of erroneous readings.

      J Dirom thanks so much for getting back to me. I never changed my battery yet. 97 rides in, 8 months. I’ll do that today. Thanks again!! 🙂

      No problem. Hopefully it resolves the issue for you. Also good to disconnect the monitor from the strap after the ride to preserve battery life. Cheers!

    • @JDirom
