You have to be standing facing the stationary machine from the motor side as he has shown. If the points in the graph are above the centerline then we have to move from R to L, if below the centerline the L to R.
Sir in your rim and face alignment video you have explained that in vertical alignment if front foot or rear foot value is +ve then we need to remove the shim and in horizontal alignment if the value is -ve then the motor has to be shifted from left to right but here in this video both is opposite why?? According to your figure shown SM dial is above so the dial will go inward so it will show a positive sag reading and the MM dial is below so it will go outward so it will so show a negative sag reading. Your readings in the calculation show the opposite which confuses everyone. I referred to dial movement videos just to be sure. See the video at 24:00.

D1 means distance between the 2 dial indicators(stationary machine dial and movable machine dial) plunger center. DBSE means Distance between shaft ends.

Its is depends speed and size and Manufacturer recommendations. but overall thumb rule is 0.05 mm TIR.
