Hey, You could add few robots on the third floor - serving drinks, handling the fireplace, vacuuming the carpet etc. This way it never will empty. Maybe a robot that follows the player constantly asking him - how can I help? do you need anything? do you need something to drink? etc. Cool design BTW :)
I think a cool idea would be for there to be a city where you can visit other players. Or maybe not a city but more locations that you can visit by boat. Maybe the boat could be used to go to certain areas in the water where you can fish certain types of fish.
Another very minor thing I saw is that I saw a person playing chef rpg alpha and when they watered plants the watering can would not turn. Not saying it’s an issue it just like makes my ‘everything should be perfect’ self down lmao
@@PixelArchitecti also imagine angie mom to be an investor of some sort like she got the dough and you came to her house to expand your business like getting more customers and passive income but also a 10% cut of income at the lowest companion level
damn i cant wait for this. I have never wanted to open up a coffee/brewery/bakery/farm/spa/greenhouse from my own home until i found Pixel. I swear if you make any purchasable DLC ill buy it twice!
Excellent work as always! It's really fascinating to see you tackle these different architectural styles but still make them all feel like they're part of the same world.
So ignoring how much I look forward to your game and how much I learn from your videos, has anyone mentioned before that you have a really soothing voice?
It's so interesting to see how you apply architectural ideas to a game like this, it really gives it unique character and I love the atmosphere of this new scene!
The color pallete here is stunning, I tend to use the same things over and over again, but this has inspired me to try something new. As always, I really appreciate how meticulous you are with how much thought and care goes into every single step of your process! Hope you have a good Halloween. Take a break of you need it, treat yourself!
Hopefully, this is what buildings will actually look like in the future. I always look at those science fictions film, where everything is completely white and gray, made with geometric shapes, and all I can think is: ‘THE TECHNOLOGY IS SO ADVANCED BUT YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TE RESOURCES TO COLOUR THE IRON??’
Great video! It's always interesting to see how you design these spaces. If I may suggest, I feel that a conversation pit on the third floor would be awesome. It would help open up the space and make it seem less crowded, it fits into the 1950s-70s time frame, and it really gives off those retro/futuristic-sorta vibes to me. : )
You've come a very far way since the start of your progress. I absolutely love each dev log you post as you can see the passion and care you carry with each video! Good luck with further developments :)
I love watching these design videos because the art is so captivating and it’s so fun to see the progress and thought process behind it. There’s always a moment where my jaw drops, when it’s all coming together. 🙏this project is really coming along and I am so glad that we’re lucky enough to be brought through the journey with you. Be well, you’re doing amazing
I’ve been watching every single episode for years. The editing of the video, the game and the audio is so relaxing and gives me this bladerunner 2049 feeling. I really don’t know how to explain but your videos are my safe space, keep going 🙏
I watch many devlogs just for entertainment, but this is the only one that actually makes me want to play the game :) You’re really talented man, can’t wait to play!
Invert the sofa, place it at the left side of the camp place and add a large retro TV at the right most empty place of the top floor. Move the camp fire to the left most.
I love the idea that this is pixel art in a game, and that the landscape doesn't have to be natural. Not enough people realize the value of embracing this
Ooo that "party" space looks nice! Imagine if you could offer catering services. Perhaps just go on a little side quest about something like that or delivering a batch of food? Maybe cooking up cuisines or drinks that match the vibe of the party? Either way, lovely breakdown as always ❤
You're passion for creating this game is so refreshing. Putting thought, meaning and backstory into every detail really breathes life into every part of your world. Can't wait to see the finished product. Steam really needs a 'Made with Love' seal of quality for games like this.
Love seeing your videos pop up on my feed! Eagerly looking forward to this launching. Your design for this building is awesome - you should look into conversation pits for the third floor firepit area, very much gives me those vibes.
I love retro futuristic designs! All that glass, round shapes and bright colours adds such a unique and cute theme to your world. I've said it before but it would be really cool if you add an alien species dlc that adds an alien race, alien food, and have the alien's architecture be retrofuturistic. Kinda like jetsons and space theme so it fits aliens really well! Anyhow, if there are any retrofuturistic or 60s diner furniture in the game, it would be so cool! I love 60s diner aesthetic and would definitely make it the theme of my restaurant. Maybe Angi could be half alien thats why his house is retrofuturistic!
Damn that’s cool. Maybe you can add a location inspired by Everlasting Summer or something like that. A touch from Soviet utopia to balance the American dream. No propaganda but just to give a vibe for the part of a community.
There's something that I really like and get inspired by in your art, and it's kind of silly, but I really like how your first step is to always design the terrain. That's such an architect view of things, because you could (and I'm sure it's what most of us do) design the house beforehand and make the terrain afterwards. And it would've been fine and probably make really cool compositions that frame the building in unique and pretty ways. But the way you do just grounds them a lot and I think that's what makes it so unique. They look and feel real, even with the videogame logic in their wild styles and tardis-like spaces. Your videos are an inspiration! I could watch you design pixel houses for hours and hours on end. Keep up the amazing work! ❤
I feel like the tube's opening should be straight. Right now the angle of the first circle seems a bit odd. So maybe add 1 more at the patio level and have it stand straight up with maybe a little bit of an overhang to prevent rain from entering (in the same curved shape as the pillar that holds up the spaceship part)
This house is so pretty. I love the aesthetic, I’ve never heard of it before. The house kind of reminds me of one of my favorite kids books when I was younger where some kid builds a futuristic car for his family.
This is one of the best one yet! The only thing I'm slightly bothered by is the huge pillar on the right side, it feels like it should be shorter because atm it unrealistically overflows futher then the imagined pillars below the balcony
I loved the video! Great walkthrought on how to design a house from bottom up! As for ideas to the guest that Angi's mom has over.. I suppose it has to be all times (Even tho seeing the house empty on rarity would be cool to). Mayhaps his mother is always throwing parties for many diferent company bosses or her friends (Seeing 2 or 3 recurring group of people would be good shown backstory for the characters, Angi and mom), Sometimes his mom could have coworkers and you could see them in a reunion, having family over would be great to, specially so you can use the dinning hall as much as the living hall. Some rare times were Angi's mom is taking care of pets would be a fun nod as well. What I am trying to say its that if you have many diferent events that could trigger randomly everyday with diferent outcomes every time you go upstairs would certenaly make it lively.
I remember subscribing to your channel when you only had 9K subscribers and thinking just how amazing you and your channel was. I cant express how happy I am to still see you release new videos and update on how the game is coming along. as @shinlucasan said, if there are any DLCs I will buy them twice over if I have to! Keep up the good work.
I have so much respect for this project. Your story-telling through setting is truly sublime. Can't wait to experiance the plot as well. This is one game I will for sure be playing.
Love your work! Could be cute to have some characters just sitting/standing in the living room talking gossip the player character can overhear and having a drink. The mom gives me the vibes of always having people over the floor, even those who are only there only to enoy the luxury of the house
I love it! ⚡💖 it's one of your best videos, the way you break down the creative process is really interesting. Your color choices are very appropriate and the result is of undeniable quality. We all have different tastes, there will always be flaws for those who want to see them, but we have to admit that you put a lot of passion into this project, that you work hard and with a lot of modesty. You deserve to be supported.
Your game is going to be so good! I predict an instant classic. The love you put in to ever detail, has to make this so. Along the way your videos have enlighten and educated, amazing.
Your work is very amazing! After watching all your Devlogs, I'm reconsidering making my own game, maybe I should stop and learn more. I also added the game to my wishlist on Steam.
I love how you delve into and break down aspects of a design/concept to show what characterises it, and how you can recreate it in your own style based on the game’s needs.
Outstanding video! I don't have the artistic background, but I'm always curious to see how things like this come together. Thanks for the video and happy holidays!
I believe that there is a need for a door for Angi and his mother's room. My idea is to have a push-and-pull metallic door with a large round glass at the center to give the door a more retro vibe.
Looks great and loving the design process :) There are 3 things that I am trying to get my head around though. 1- There is no door or any separation in the shop floor to close off the public shop space from the private staircase, private bedrooms and private dining/ living room. Strangers/ customers can just freely walk up to the family´s private quarters, and they do as seen in the video. 2- How come there are no doors on the bedrooms? I imagine even the 2 family members would want to have some privacy in their bedrooms, but right now the beds are essentially sharing the same space without any doors between them. I understand you were aiming for a generally open layout, but for bedrooms, being too open feels a bit uncomfortable. You say in the video that that floor is supposed to be more private and intimate, but the lack of doors breaks that feeling. (not to mention random customers freely walking around in there.) 3- Where does the smoke go from the fireplace on the top floor? It looks like it is wood-fired, which would make a lot of smoke, but the visuals of the room suggest that the chimney on it does not go all the way up to the ceiling and there is no chimney on the roof above it, unless if those moving pumps are supposed to be pumping smoke out.
This game looks so good! I'm excited by the art style alone, but the gameplay seems like it'll be right up my alley too. Just wishlisted on Steam - looking forward to your release! :)

It looks like it's coming towards the player instead of vertically up and down.
