Hey. I did every step as in video and now my M2 disk split into 2 parts. Out of 4TB disc I can allocate 2TB, the rest I can't allocate. I tried to reset default in BIOS but didn't helped. What should I do now as it's only half space out of whole disk.
In this motherboard manual is information "An M.2 PCIe SSD cannot be used to set up a RAID set either with an M.2 SATA SSD or a SATA hard drive." but you manage to use M2 pcie as RAID, is the maunal wrong?
Have you tested whether the performance changes when using the M.2B + M.2C ports? These two are connected to the chipset, M.2A to the CPU. I would not rule out the possibility that the use of M.2A in a RAID array could lead to performance losses, as the connection via the chipset may then lead to higher latencies with a RAID drive.
@@MTWMTech I tried many times with your video but I couldn't do it, I don't know how in your video it can be seen that you were able to do it, maybe due to an update now it can't be done and it's a shame
MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI latest bios, raid 0 with 2GB x2 CT2000P5PSSD8. After Windows copied files and must restarting , system hung. Latest nvme drivers from amd or msi, same thing. After reset button pushed, installation continues and everything is fine. But I remember this hang was on previos chipset x470 when installing windows on sata3 ssd raid 0, later it was fixed by amd.
Nice video. I have a question: is it possible to set two RAID 1? One with two PCIe NVMe for the OS and another one with two SATA HDDs for data security.
I actually have a similar question. I have 2 samsung 980pro 2tb and I was planning on going with Raid 0. I have a 3rd 970 evo that i plan on using as a standalone for documents. My understand is that Raid 0 stripes both essentially making them 1 4tb drive. Also might boost performance. Raid 1 which you chose mirrors the drives. I understand as a failsafe, Raid 1 is better but can you tell u pros and cons? I have looked and hoes not seem to be a consensus. Depending on the time of the opinion ( a few years ago) Raid 0 was preferred especially for gaming.
Great video and walkthrough! You definitely need to make more vids. I am attempting to fix my computer. At this point my bios can see the m.2 that I have and I used to boot my windows from there but now it won’t boot. What should I do to fix this boot error? I’m thinking of using a windows install disc and put it on a different HD that is sata not pcie and then maybe re-patrician my ssd pcie. Thoughts?
I want to buy a new nvme m.2 so I can raid 0, my current m.2 has windows installed on it, will I be okay to still raid 0 with windows installed on the drive?
Hi ! :) Following exactly your steps (with Nvme MP600) and when it comes to "initialize disk" then i have "There are no disks that can be converted to RAID Disks", do you have some ideas about that ? Thanks, best regards.
The SSDs are already assigned to an array. So you have to select the SSDs, one at a time, and delete the array they are assigned to. Once both are unassigned to an array, you can then Create an new array composed of the 2 SSDs. It is really scary because no drive letter shown, just disk size. So you have to ENable an single SSD in the list of arrays, then select DELETE. Then pray the right one disappears from the list of arrays. Repeat for other(s). Then you can proceed.
I am following you step by step with my GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Elite Wi-Fi. At 3:29 you are in controller mgt and select rescan disks. Both physical disks appear as "New". You say the drives are ready. At 3:46 you go into physical disk mgt and select physical disk operations. Your drive now appears as "Ready". My disk still appears as "New". When i then go to Initial Disk, "There are no disks that can be converted." I am using new SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2. Did i miss a step?
thank you for support , after 2 hours finally a solution ,i did just the same and this time it did the job 2X AORUS Gen 4 7300 SSD 1TB
Straight to the point.
Love it, thank you
You are most welcome. Glad it was helpful.
Excellent video!
Myself, just in case, i have temporarily detached all the other droves to not get them erased by accident.
You can plug system speaker and you can get info before start windows or setup like "beep" after just one push delete key for switch to setup. 😉
That is helpful information. Thank you.
I just booted up my new 570s master and none of my nvme drives are seen in bios. Any idea on how to fix this?
Make sure you are on the correct firmware.
I did. it and my m.2 was originally showing and after I turned on raid my m.2 disappeared
Make sure you are on the right firmware.
So, what is all this for?
this is exactly what i want. i hope i can do the same one day.
Thank you for the comment. All the best.
@@MTWMTech on sunday the 29th januar 2023 i did it i used a asus prime b650-plus with 2 kingston nv2 nvme 256 gb as a raid1. it was very easy.

The manual says, you cannot set a RAID with a M.2 PCIe SSD and a M.2 SATA SSD. He uses two M.2 PCIe SSD.
Thank you for your comments and piping in to answer.

I will look into this and let you know.
I wish you would explain a little more... Why RAID1 and so... What does it mean and when you do which...

It said Raid 1 drive size in 1 TB but you have 2 1 TB drives.. 🧐
Choose which size works best for you.
