As a long-time Ark Legacy player, I will not be buying any further games from Wild Card or Snail Games. This is absolutely BS what they are trying to do the Ark community.

@@v.witlox560 A lot of people have been suggesting that Wildcard has more than enough power to cut Snail Games off after ASA (they could've just not signed the ASA contract and cut it off though) so I don't know. Wildcard has to take a fair portion to blame if they're as powerful as the community says.
Having all the Ark youtubers go to war with Tea and snail would gain those guys and gals so many subs and be the biggest event in the community. I like the idea just think of them all streaming it.

I play entirely on unofficial PVE, but this still concerns me and anyone who plays ARK. The company is so demonstrably corrupt and problematic, that I have serious concerns not just with the new game and if it will run, how long it will be delayed, etc….but also about the possibility of malware, especially with the new mod system. I really enjoy ARK, but it’s just not worth it anymore.
100% this The overwolf integration is a real issue. theyre KNOWN to spy and report back, its not a question here. they keep getting caught and companies keep using them. Overwolf doesnt contain malware.... it IS malware.
It sucks so bad that this isn't an overstatement. Lots of things average out. You think it's totally awful but it comes back around to the middle and you were wrong. Lots of life is this way, right? It's hard to see this that way. The company responsible for creating the momentum and making decisions is unaccountable and corrupt. How will it normalize then? You're right man. "But it's just $70, just buy it!" Is the thing I hear all the time from people when I say I'm not paying for the game again. I quit, I went to Conan with my group. We all uninstalled Ark after the greedy roadmap.
I love conan but there idea of new content is some extra map, a battlepass and double the glitches and bugs after the update that takes them weeks to fix...

At this point, I am not certain ARK 2 will ever happen. I think they are going to get caught up for years remaking ARK Ascended. By the time they have learned how to use the new technology no one will care about ARK 2. So I suspect they will tack it on to the end of Ascended and call it a DLC with new maps and all. They are already talking new dino's and maps for Ascended, Why? If its not because they are cannibalizing's ARK 2 to make Ascended more appealing. If that is what they are doing then ARK 2 is most likely doomed. Wild Card needs to just stop, end their association with Snail Games and make a different kind of game. Snail Games is a drag on them and they need to break the connection, if they want to have any decent future in gaming, in my opinion.

Ark 2 is a carrot being dangled to give dedicated ark players a hope of a brighter future. Initially I thought Ark Ascended was a great idea (a familiar version of ark running on a new engine that could be used to playtest element ideas with direct feedback from an established player base) but then they announced a pricing strategy and I was back in fob off city. Ark 2 is not gonna happen, if they manage to release something the player base would have dissolved into nothing.

Personally I'm totally done with anything related to both WC and/or Snail. Sure, I'll may go back to play ARK SE in SIngle Player or Unofficial sometime in the future, but right now I'm just standing back and watching them slowly burn and sink their company to the ground.
I think the “Ark Watch” is a fantastic idea. I never played Ark PvP official and this is a perfect example as to why. I left official PvE a while ago and now play on a family owned server. I would love to see all the Ark-tubers get together and show the raid live, just to see what happens. If they all get banned, then something seriously needs to be done. I know that’s a long shot, but if it’s true then something needs to happen
It literally already happened. There were a lot of content creators that got banned with probably at least a million subs on that raid Vs tea tribe. Ark watch isn't a good idea because those ark tubers who are more into the PvP side of things are already banned for this and the other half would have to build up on conquest and attack them again. Conquest is not main official. This video made it seem like it was.
The thing is we alrdy had the biggest ark pvp twitch streamer streaming the fob + 4 100k+ yt content creators the Island Boys tirbe so they are not afraid to ban content creators
I think the game has turned in to Snail Games' personal playground when it comes to official pvp. I'm not sure what the roadmap looks like for Snail Games but it doesn't seem to be making a AAA game or having the game prosper in to something more. It's unfortunate for Wildcard because of the amount of potential Ark has to be an even greater game. The only thing I can think of is Wildcard cutting their losses, the team quitting Wildcard and getting a kick-start with a fresh new game with a similar feel to Ark where they have the control in what goes on in their game. They were on the right track I think when it was in the Beta stage, before Snail Games basically ruined Ark. I could go on for ages about this but what i really don't understand is the business model of Snail Games, taking advantage of the not many players they have left. It's such a waste of a potentially great game.
I very much agree with this. I played Ark in early access and things were way different back then. I fear this might be the end for the franchise. It's very sad, the series had great potential.
I have 13K hours played in ARK and bought every DLC for it. That being said I'm planning on completely ending my ARK adventure in August and washing my hands of everything owned by Snail Games and WildCard. My money is on ASA coming out around September 2024-Febuary 2025 and ARK 2 will be "delayed" till december 2025 and then actually cancelled due to "lack of funds" but the hermes game will magically have the funds
I'm curious of this as well as they always delay. I highly doubt though they're shutting down ASE officials without ASA released so I'm wondering if they'll change the server shutdown date as well.
The fact that the Island Boys made a point of not a single one of them using a fabi during the main raid to avoid any aimbot accusations says everything about how it went down, Shockists video shows it pretty well.
It's hillariously stupid that majority of people are even thinking of buying ascended fueling and letting snail get away with this corruption. You would think that by having played Ark the players would learn to never get attached to anything and be willing to let go 😂.
Doesnt really effect pve players all to much and the only letting go they have to do for stuff is their base after August. But for us pvp players this is a wake up call. Ark was fun and now its dead. And i dont mean dead as in no community but dead as in no soul anymore. Snail games killed it. And even if wildcard isnt at fault they still cant do anything about snailgames. Just a quick note about the TEA stuff: this happened on Conquest, a server cluster owned & managed by Snail. It is official but Wildcard has nothing to do with it. When they got banned they were only banned from Conquest servers, not all PvP servers. Wildcard pretty much tells people in a discrete way to not play on them as they let Snail Games do as they please. Still a bad look & concerning from A:SA and ARK 2. Also spot on about this concept artwork. One of the co-founders of Wildcard, Jesse, made a comment about how the supply crate model was always a place holder model (allegedly). If so, why was it not changed in the last 8 years? For a placeholder (allegedly) they sure did give it a nice despawn animation (remember in the early access days it'd shatter like rocks do?) and gave us the cool animation of them being deployed from the Overseer's Arena on the Island. A lot of work put in for a placeholder model (allegedly)

Gotta admit i'm gutted with all of this. I don't normally post on YT videos but I play Ark on my own hosted server with rest of family. It's a great game that I have loved for a long time but the amount of deceit going on with the developers sickens me. Ark is a great franchise that should be cherished not abused to milk like a cow for money. Not much else to say but I AM DISSAPOINT.
I was planning on buying ASA, the possibility of ARK with way less hacks cheats and bugs was really appealing to me, the recent vids from creators showing blatant admin abuse by TEA has convinced me to cut ties with this game, It's sad, but there is no other sensible option.
I'm a console player, and I play completely alone in ARK. So cheaters and hackers and admin rights don't really concern me. What DOES concern me is I will have to buy a PS5 or and XBox S to be able to play ASA whenever it does come out, and if ARK 2 ever comes out it will be delayed further for console release. I still love ARK, but I put myself in the category of "sticking with ASE for a while."
Thank you for speaking for the people who can't afford an upgrade, and who are actually attached to their hard work. I can barely afford games these days, as it's such an expensive hobby. I got Ark on Switch when it was on sale just to play with my friend, and it's gutting to have hours of fun and animal personality headcanon stories (I have a super bred deer who I made buff by setting up a training arena with baby rexes being born with the deer on aggressive to automatically murder them and it's hilarious. He's been my caving and boss buddy and I'm super attached to him) just rendered "obsolete."
I find it incredibly depressing that over 50% of players are still happy to shell out for the upgrade. I get that some of them have built careers because of Ark or just really love the game and can afford to upgrade, but the fact that there is now a new game being worked on just proves that the issue was never about funding to begin with. They are simply trying to squeeze as much money out of players as possible in the most unfair ways they can. The 50% that appear to be happy with being extorted will simply prove that it doesn't matter how horribly you treat people, you can always rely on a certain amount of people to support you and will thus set the precedent for other companies to pull the same stunts and extort players in newer and more unfair ways. I had hoped that the mass banning would wake people up, but apparently not.

Personally I’m done with ark. After 8.5k hours across PvP and pve - I’m happy with the friends I’ve made but loosing all my hard work and dino lines/bosses/ and levelling multiple characters I don’t think I can do it all over again. There is pluses to look forward too in terms of nicer graphics smoother gameplay (hopefully) but I for one will not be putting anymore time into ark UNLESS. This new version is absolutely amazing and the reviews are great, no bugs no disappearing dinos then maybe MAYBE I’ll check it out. I just feel really bad for the ps4 version who simply cannot afford to switch - even if they wanted too. That’s harsh.

Ive already quit, to be frank the game was one of those multiplayer games I tolerated because it was fun with friends, the handling of the "update" and "sequel" 2 terms ill use very loosely, has just made me realise how little a shred of shite the devs/publishers give about their game and the folk that play it. So it's been removed from my steam account after nearly 2000 hours of playtime.
Same. I was almost 3000 hours in, but what did it for me was Wildcard's _retroactive_ change to the "Loremaster" Achievement which forced me to buy the Season Pass that I didn't want in order to get the HELEN-A notes because I'm a completionist. A real "DON'T FORGET TO DRINK YOUR OVALTINE"-moment.
I loved playing ark for years. Finished the complete story with two of my best friends and took us three years. It helped us stay connected during the pandemic period. We always look back with joy on ARK. Its a damn shame the devs and investors became more greedy while they already had gold in their hands. Greed and corruption always leed to downfall its not new in the gaming industry. Yes the community and youtube streamers most likely can do a lot of damage to snailgames. However even if they produce a good game after being punished one thing wil remain the same, they are rotten to the core.The only medicine for that is to cut of the money and let it all collapse. And maybe...just maybe years later something beter wil get out of it. Love your passion for games and gaming communities Nooblets, those bastards of snailgames do not even deserve a mention in your streams. It is already known for sometime snailgames members cheat and are bad losers (how low can you get :/). But ark is played best with friends and good online friends on private servers. I quit playing Ark due to the corruption at this point I'm watching it crumble for the joy of it. And everything you stated was elegantly put. Honestly if more people did do what that tribe did and showed video evidence then well, both game studios are screwed.
Granted I could play on a private solo campaign style game but the game was more fun cause my friends were able to play without having to pay two times for the same game. Snail and Wildcard are making a huge cash grab. I'd rather play Call of Duty or For Honor any day of the week, at least on For Honor I can kill the hackers, and or report them. Hacking to that extent though on Arks toxic community, dude I'm on gen one console I cannot compete with it.

An example of why I no longer PvP in any game tbh. The fact that Devs are cheating makes it 100x worse. Allegedly. I'll stick to my single player game, but I do feel for these players who do enjoy PvP and have the experience ruined by power-tripping devs.
Youre pretty much correct with the Island Boys thing, only thing u got wrong was that they werent banned from all of official, just the Conquest Cluster. Since Wildcard enforces rules on the main cluster, them not banning players that get banned on Conquest shows that they know that Snail Games are wrongfully banning players. Hopefully in ASA Wildcard will enforce rules on every official server, but until then just dont play Conquest. TEA cant abuse if there arent any players to abuse against.
I feel so sorry for WC, they have a great concept with ARK and now they're being undermined by the corrupt snail games which ultimately it's the playerbase that suffers

I could have swore one of the content creators mentioned the "global" ban only covers the conquest servers so they didn't care. They can still join regular official servers because the Conquest servers and Official servers are two different things.
Honestly I agree with both you and Raasclark. While I want to be excited for the new stuff and possibilities I'm also trying to be mindful of everything that's happened so far and I really just want what's best for both wildcard and the ark community. I've been watching a few of you ark RUclipsers for years (and yes you're mainly the reason I stuck with this game cuz of all those solo taming video's so thanks for literally years worth of gaming) and I think it's good to get to the truth and talk about the wrong, but Raasclark still gets my hope's up and I think we need that as a community

As someone who has played thousands of hours of official PvP, it is the worst feeling getting wiped knowing the tribe wiping you is spinning(aimbotting), using ESP and has a pocket dev “allegedly” lol. Great video, mate. You're an absolute legend. Gamers should wake up and use their brains as to where their money is actually going. The 'developers' here are clearly grifting. If many millions have been raised, even a fraction of that going back into development would mean they would have gameplay footage or at least a *single* screenshot, rather than concept art or disconnected assets. Remember what happened around the Atlas launch? They are doing the same thing all over again. Ark Watch sounds like a GREAT idea, and should catch on with other games and developers too.
I haven't played ARK in at least 5 years, probably more, and this recent drama still showed up on my recommended page, I am happy to see you are still around, hopefully enjoying the game. I have watched you since forever, your videos were always very helpful and informative, as well as entertaining. I am sad to see this game deteriorate so much with time, I also dislike the overly modern stuff everywhere in the game, after official release it has mostly been downhill and WC is not exactly doing much to better the situation, Snail Games is the worst thing that could've ever happened to the game though. I got burned out from playing too much on official servers, with constant drama and toxicity, I don't think I can ever come back to the game really, but I am still very much sad to see it take such a route. I have 1000s of hours, I miss this game, but once I have to buy the game again, I will 100% never return to it.
1) Always interesting, thank you. 2) AFAIK the lawsuit against WC was only about Jeremy S., not the other founders, he's the only one who worked for Trendy, but otherwise I think you've captured the overall essence of the flow of events. 3) To the best of my knowledge Snail owns WC outright, they're not merely "WildCard's Publisher." Studio WildCard is owned by SDE, which is in turn an "affiliate" of Snail Games USA (so basically SDE is a holding company that allows Snail Games to own Studio WildCard indirectly. 4) Again, this is ''AFAIK' (as far as I know).

Nooblets... I've watched your videos for years now. My kids grew up watching your Ark content. I have enjoyed your videos more than playing the game occasionally. It's weird... Sometimes it's simply soothing to hear you talk about random shit due to nostalgia. For me, it's the content created around the product responsible for more than half of it's success. We are this in the vibrant modding communities around games, often decades after their release date. I (and my kids) have some 4k hours in ASE.... My disappointment is real. Thanks for covering this. The corruption is getting a lot of sunshine thanks to YTubers shining.

I have a bad feeling about the direction this is going. I used to love ASE, played the early access back in 2015-2016. Took a break for a few years and then hopped back into various PVE servers over the years. What happened to the franchise? This is really sad. I refuse to give them any more money - I was never into the PVP aspect of Ark but I use to play PVP games that blatant cheating/rolling back the servers is the final straw for me. I was considering giving Ascended a chance and IF Ark 2 ever released I considered getting it...but now...I have no desire to pay into corruption
Wildcard needs to watch Sovietwomble's 3 part video essay on Dayz, and how they had the greatest opportunity for success, yet accidentally killed their own brand. Honestly, the parallels are significant in this case, and there's a path to success or failure laid before the developers. Wildcard should take note before shooting themselves in the foot I Wish the very best for all involved, players and developers alike.
The worst part about all this is that we can’t even be excited about the new upgrade and the new game anymore. We’re now more concerned that we’re being lied to, and the games will be delayed into oblivion after they erase years of our hard work. On top of that, now we have to worry about Admin cheaters on official servers so we can’t even enjoy the last few months we do have before everything gets wiped.
what's also suspect is that on each and every single community crunch there's a collection of 4 people that're always on-top. I tried to get up between them to post a link to the now-deleted tweet of an ark dev saying the upgrade would be free, but could only manage the 5th spot instead. really odd that they all 4 manage to get the top spots every single time.
Please keep us updated with this kind of information when Ark Survival Ascended comes out. This kind of information is what keeps me from not playing the game or investing.
Thank you for making this vid. I was part of the 54% and was excited to buy ASA before watching this vid (I got ASE for free not too long ago and have only ever played single player), but now that I'm seeing the corruption I'm having serious second thoughts. I really hope Wildcard cuts ties with Snail games and makes something better. I'd be much happier to buy an original game with an ASE feel that's free of Snail's corruption rather than paying for an upgraded ASE. The entire Ark formula needs to be reworked from the ground up anyway, imo, and much better optimized.
Wildcard IS snail games. They can't just "cut ties", snail games literally owns them. Only way they could "cut ties" is if snail decides to sell off Wildcard to another holding company (probably chinese, probably just as immoral and corrupt if not worse)

I've been hooked for years, few breaks here and there but started in early access and currently have all i would ever need again on official. I was fine with paying for the update and restarting - was excited for it even, and I( tried to sway more positivity about it all with people who where angry. But this week the community crunch was nothing and they where talking about ark 2 buildings, and that really sapped my enthusiasm. I was in the "definitely ASA day 1 group" but now (even though I know i'll almost certainly be there) i haven't got much enthusiasm anymore. They really need to give us something soon.
I’m an official pvp player and have been killed and wiped by the island boys countless times BUT it was in FAIR PVP, yes it gets us all angry to be wiped but the island boys were FAIR players that did not cheat. It is absolutely DISGRACEFUL what has happened to them and Snail Games should be forced to part ways with studio wild card and all attachments to ark and any other game they abuse their power on.

I bought ark early access and felt so burned by scorched earth I swore to never give them another dime. It doesn't seem like it, but this the best thing that has ever happened to y'alls community as a whole. Casuals like me are paying attention again, strike while the irons hot and something might actually give way 🤞
I quit officals when transfers became a thing and only played singleplayer or on my buddy's private server. Then, when Ark came out of early access and all that changed was the price, I knew Ark would always be a buggy POS. And I'm not one bit surprised that they're trying to sell the same game, and mark my words, ASA will only be an improvement visually, all the bugs and issues that Ark has now will still be there in ASA.
I'm glad I stopped playing official PVP a long time ago. Hearing all the recent news, including the Snail Games/TEA Tribe shenanigans think I'll save my money.

Wildcard has to take a fair portion to blame if they're as powerful as the community says.

I play entirely on unofficial PVE, but this still concerns me and anyone who plays ARK. The company is so demonstrably corrupt and problematic, that I have serious concerns not just with the new game and if it will run, how long it will be delayed, etc….but also about the possibility of malware, especially with the new mod system. I really enjoy ARK, but it’s just not worth it anymore.

At this point, I am not certain ARK 2 will ever happen. I think they are going to get caught up for years remaking ARK Ascended. By the time they have learned how to use the new technology no one will care about ARK 2. So I suspect they will tack it on to the end of Ascended and call it a DLC with new maps and all. They are already talking new dino's and maps for Ascended, Why? If its not because they are cannibalizing's ARK 2 to make Ascended more appealing. If that is what they are doing then ARK 2 is most likely doomed. Wild Card needs to just stop, end their association with Snail Games and make a different kind of game. Snail Games is a drag on them and they need to break the connection, if they want to have any decent future in gaming, in my opinion.

Ark 2 is a carrot being dangled to give dedicated ark players a hope of a brighter future.
Initially I thought Ark Ascended was a great idea (a familiar version of ark running on a new engine that could be used to playtest element ideas with direct feedback from an established player base) but then they announced a pricing strategy and I was back in fob off city.
Ark 2 is not gonna happen, if they manage to release something the player base would have dissolved into nothing.

I think the “Ark Watch” is a fantastic idea. I never played Ark PvP official and this is a perfect example as to why. I left official PvE a while ago and now play on a family owned server. I would love to see all the Ark-tubers get together and show the raid live, just to see what happens. If they all get banned, then something seriously needs to be done. I know that’s a long shot, but if it’s true then something needs to happen
It literally already happened. There were a lot of content creators that got banned with probably at least a million subs on that raid Vs tea tribe. Ark watch isn't a good idea because those ark tubers who are more into the PvP side of things are already banned for this and the other half would have to build up on conquest and attack them again. Conquest is not main official. This video made it seem like it was.
The thing is we alrdy had the biggest ark pvp twitch streamer streaming the fob + 4 100k+ yt content creators the Island Boys tirbe so they are not afraid to ban content creators
I think the game has turned in to Snail Games' personal playground when it comes to official pvp. I'm not sure what the roadmap looks like for Snail Games but it doesn't seem to be making a AAA game or having the game prosper in to something more.
It's unfortunate for Wildcard because of the amount of potential Ark has to be an even greater game. The only thing I can think of is Wildcard cutting their losses, the team quitting Wildcard and getting a kick-start with a fresh new game with a similar feel to Ark where they have the control in what goes on in their game. They were on the right track I think when it was in the Beta stage, before Snail Games basically ruined Ark.
I could go on for ages about this but what i really don't understand is the business model of Snail Games, taking advantage of the not many players they have left. It's such a waste of a potentially great game.
I very much agree with this. I played Ark in early access and things were way different back then. I fear this might be the end for the franchise. It's very sad, the series had great potential.

I have 13K hours played in ARK and bought every DLC for it. That being said I'm planning on completely ending my ARK adventure in August and washing my hands of everything owned by Snail Games and WildCard. My money is on ASA coming out around September 2024-Febuary 2025 and ARK 2 will be "delayed" till december 2025 and then actually cancelled due to "lack of funds" but the hermes game will magically have the funds

The fact that the Island Boys made a point of not a single one of them using a fabi during the main raid to avoid any aimbot accusations says everything about how it went down, Shockists video shows it pretty well.
It's hillariously stupid that majority of people are even thinking of buying ascended fueling and letting snail get away with this corruption. You would think that by having played Ark the players would learn to never get attached to anything and be willing to let go 😂.

Just a quick note about the TEA stuff: this happened on Conquest, a server cluster owned & managed by Snail. It is official but Wildcard has nothing to do with it. When they got banned they were only banned from Conquest servers, not all PvP servers. Wildcard pretty much tells people in a discrete way to not play on them as they let Snail Games do as they please. Still a bad look & concerning from A:SA and ARK 2.
Also spot on about this concept artwork. One of the co-founders of Wildcard, Jesse, made a comment about how the supply crate model was always a place holder model (allegedly). If so, why was it not changed in the last 8 years? For a placeholder (allegedly) they sure did give it a nice despawn animation (remember in the early access days it'd shatter like rocks do?) and gave us the cool animation of them being deployed from the Overseer's Arena on the Island. A lot of work put in for a placeholder model (allegedly)

Gotta admit i'm gutted with all of this. I don't normally post on YT videos but I play Ark on my own hosted server with rest of family. It's a great game that I have loved for a long time but the amount of deceit going on with the developers sickens me. Ark is a great franchise that should be cherished not abused to milk like a cow for money.
Not much else to say but I AM DISSAPOINT.
I was planning on buying ASA, the possibility of ARK with way less hacks cheats and bugs was really appealing to me, the recent vids from creators showing blatant admin abuse by TEA has convinced me to cut ties with this game, It's sad, but there is no other sensible option.
I'm a console player, and I play completely alone in ARK. So cheaters and hackers and admin rights don't really concern me. What DOES concern me is I will have to buy a PS5 or and XBox S to be able to play ASA whenever it does come out, and if ARK 2 ever comes out it will be delayed further for console release. I still love ARK, but I put myself in the category of "sticking with ASE for a while."

Thank you for speaking for the people who can't afford an upgrade, and who are actually attached to their hard work. I can barely afford games these days, as it's such an expensive hobby. I got Ark on Switch when it was on sale just to play with my friend, and it's gutting to have hours of fun and animal personality headcanon stories (I have a super bred deer who I made buff by setting up a training arena with baby rexes being born with the deer on aggressive to automatically murder them and it's hilarious. He's been my caving and boss buddy and I'm super attached to him) just rendered "obsolete."
I find it incredibly depressing that over 50% of players are still happy to shell out for the upgrade. I get that some of them have built careers because of Ark or just really love the game and can afford to upgrade, but the fact that there is now a new game being worked on just proves that the issue was never about funding to begin with. They are simply trying to squeeze as much money out of players as possible in the most unfair ways they can. The 50% that appear to be happy with being extorted will simply prove that it doesn't matter how horribly you treat people, you can always rely on a certain amount of people to support you and will thus set the precedent for other companies to pull the same stunts and extort players in newer and more unfair ways. I had hoped that the mass banning would wake people up, but apparently not.
I'm likely going to buy a few copies of ASA for new and friends and I'm curious of something.

Personally I’m done with ark. After 8.5k hours across PvP and pve - I’m happy with the friends I’ve made but loosing all my hard work and dino lines/bosses/ and levelling multiple characters I don’t think I can do it all over again. There is pluses to look forward too in terms of nicer graphics smoother gameplay (hopefully) but I for one will not be putting anymore time into ark UNLESS. This new version is absolutely amazing and the reviews are great, no bugs no disappearing dinos then maybe MAYBE I’ll check it out. I just feel really bad for the ps4 version who simply cannot afford to switch - even if they wanted too. That’s harsh.

Ive already quit, to be frank the game was one of those multiplayer games I tolerated because it was fun with friends, the handling of the "update" and "sequel" 2 terms ill use very loosely, has just made me realise how little a shred of shite the devs/publishers give about their game and the folk that play it. So it's been removed from my steam account after nearly 2000 hours of playtime.
Same. I was almost 3000 hours in, but what did it for me was Wildcard's _retroactive_ change to the "Loremaster" Achievement which forced me to buy the Season Pass that I didn't want in order to get the HELEN-A notes because I'm a completionist. A real "DON'T FORGET TO DRINK YOUR OVALTINE"-moment.
I loved playing ark for years. Finished the complete story with two of my best friends and took us three years. It helped us stay connected during the pandemic period. We always look back with joy on ARK. Its a damn shame the devs and investors became more greedy while they already had gold in their hands. Greed and corruption always leed to downfall its not new in the gaming industry. Yes the community and youtube streamers most likely can do a lot of damage to snailgames. However even if they produce a good game after being punished one thing wil remain the same, they are rotten to the core.The only medicine for that is to cut of the money and let it all collapse. And maybe...just maybe years later something beter wil get out of it. Love your passion for games and gaming communities Nooblets, those bastards of snailgames do not even deserve a mention in your streams. It is already known for sometime snailgames members cheat and are bad losers (how low can you get :/). But ark is played best with friends and good online friends on private servers. I quit playing Ark due to the corruption at this point I'm watching it crumble for the joy of it. And everything you stated was elegantly put. Honestly if more people did do what that tribe did and showed video evidence then well, both game studios are screwed.
Granted I could play on a private solo campaign style game but the game was more fun cause my friends were able to play without having to pay two times for the same game. Snail and Wildcard are making a huge cash grab. I'd rather play Call of Duty or For Honor any day of the week, at least on For Honor I can kill the hackers, and or report them. An example of why I no longer PvP in any game tbh. The fact that Devs are cheating makes it 100x worse. Allegedly. I'll stick to my single player game, but I do feel for these players who do enjoy PvP and have the experience ruined by power-tripping devs.

Youre pretty much correct with the Island Boys thing, only thing u got wrong was that they werent banned from all of official, just the Conquest Cluster. Since Wildcard enforces rules on the main cluster, them not banning players that get banned on Conquest shows that they know that Snail Games are wrongfully banning players. Hopefully in ASA Wildcard will enforce rules on every official server, but until then just dont play Conquest. TEA cant abuse if there arent any players to abuse against.

I could have swore one of the content creators mentioned the "global" ban only covers the conquest servers so they didn't care. They can still join regular official servers because the Conquest servers and Official servers are two different things.

Honestly I agree with both you and Raasclark. While I want to be excited for the new stuff and possibilities I'm also trying to be mindful of everything that's happened so far and I really just want what's best for both wildcard and the ark community. I've been watching a few of you ark RUclipsers for years (and yes you're mainly the reason I stuck with this game cuz of all those solo taming video's so thanks for literally years worth of gaming) and I think it's good to get to the truth and talk about the wrong, but Raasclark still gets my hope's up and I think we need that as a community

As someone who has played thousands of hours of official PvP, it is the worst feeling getting wiped knowing the tribe wiping you is spinning(aimbotting), using ESP and has a pocket dev “allegedly” lol. Great video, mate. You're an absolute legend. Gamers should wake up and use their brains as to where their money is actually going. The 'developers' here are clearly grifting. If many millions have been raised, even a fraction of that going back into development would mean they would have gameplay footage or at least a *single* screenshot, rather than concept art or disconnected assets. Remember what happened around the Atlas launch? They are doing the same thing all over again. Ark Watch sounds like a GREAT idea, and should catch on with other games and developers too.

I haven't played ARK in at least 5 years, probably more, and this recent drama still showed up on my recommended page, I am happy to see you are still around, hopefully enjoying the game. I have watched you since forever, your videos were always very helpful and informative, as well as entertaining. I am sad to see this game deteriorate so much with time, I also dislike the overly modern stuff everywhere in the game, after official release it has mostly been downhill and WC is not exactly doing much to better the situation, Snail Games is the worst thing that could've ever happened to the game though. I got burned out from playing too much on official servers, with constant drama and toxicity, I don't think I can ever come back to the game really, but I am still very much sad to see it take such a route. I have 1000s of hours, I miss this game, but once I have to buy the game again, I will 100% never return to it.

1) Always interesting, thank you. 2) AFAIK the lawsuit against WC was only about Jeremy S., not the other founders, he's the only one who worked for Trendy, but otherwise I think you've captured the overall essence of the flow of events. 3) To the best of my knowledge Snail owns WC outright, they're not merely "WildCard's Publisher." Studio WildCard is owned by SDE, which is in turn an "affiliate" of Snail Games USA (so basically SDE is a holding company that allows Snail Games to own Studio WildCard indirectly. 4) Again, this is ''AFAIK' (as far as I know).

My kids grew up watching your Ark content. I have enjoyed your videos more than playing the game occasionally. It's weird... Sometimes it's simply soothing to hear you talk about random shit due to nostalgia.
For me, it's the content created around the product responsible for more than half of it's success. We are this in the vibrant modding communities around games, often decades after their release date.
I (and my kids) have some 4k hours in ASE....

I have a bad feeling about the direction this is going. I used to love ASE, played the early access back in 2015-2016. Took a break for a few years and then hopped back into various PVE servers over the years. What happened to the franchise? This is really sad.

I refuse to give them any more money - I was never into the PVP aspect of Ark but I use to play PVP games that blatant cheating/rolling back the servers is the final straw for me. I was considering giving Ascended a chance and IF Ark 2 ever released I considered getting it...but now...I have no desire to pay into corruption

We’re now more concerned that we’re being lied to, and the games will be delayed into oblivion after they erase years of our hard work. On top of that, now we have to worry about Admin cheaters on official servers so we can’t even enjoy the last few months we do have before everything gets wiped.
what's also suspect is that on each and every single community crunch there's a collection of 4 people that're always on-top. I tried to get up between them to post a link to the now-deleted tweet of an ark dev saying the upgrade would be free, but could only manage the 5th spot instead. really odd that they all 4 manage to get the top spots every single time.
This is likely-botting behavior.

Please keep us updated with this kind of information when Ark Survival Ascended comes out. This kind of information is what keeps me from not playing the game or investing.
Thank you for making this vid. I was part of the 54% and was excited to buy ASA before watching this vid (I got ASE for free not too long ago and have only ever played single player), but now that I'm seeing the corruption I'm having serious second thoughts. I really hope Wildcard cuts ties with Snail games and makes something better. I'd be much happier to buy an original game with an ASE feel that's free of Snail's corruption rather than paying for an upgraded ASE. The entire Ark formula needs to be reworked from the ground up anyway, imo, and much better optimized.
Wildcard IS snail games. They can't just "cut ties", snail games literally owns them. Only way they could "cut ties" is if snail decides to sell off Wildcard to another holding company (probably chinese, probably just as immoral and corrupt if not worse)

I've been hooked for years, few breaks here and there but started in early access and currently have all i would ever need again on official. I was fine with paying for the update and restarting - was excited for it even, and I( tried to sway more positivity about it all with people who where angry. But this week the community crunch was nothing and they where talking about ark 2 buildings, and that really sapped my enthusiasm. I was in the "definitely ASA day 1 group" but now (even though I know i'll almost certainly be there) i haven't got much enthusiasm anymore.
They really need to give us something soon.
I’m an official pvp player and have been killed and wiped by the island boys countless times BUT it was in FAIR PVP, yes it gets us all angry to be wiped but the island boys were FAIR players that did not cheat. It is absolutely DISGRACEFUL what has happened to them and Snail Games should be forced to part ways with studio wild card and all attachments to ark and any other game they abuse their power on.

I agree fully I’m pretty over ark in a whole I haven’t been playing long a little over a year on official I’m pretty upset over this I refuse to buy anything else from them I stopped playing and let all my stuff disappear I’m done
I never played pvp official in any serious manner but i feel for the legit players being screwed over the years and still playing it!

I bought ark early access and felt so burned by scorched earth I swore to never give them another dime. It doesn't seem like it, but this the best thing that has ever happened to y'alls community as a whole. Casuals like me are paying attention again, strike while the irons hot and something might actually give way 🤞
I quit officals when transfers became a thing and only played singleplayer or on my buddy's private server. Then, when Ark came out of early access and all that changed was the price, I knew Ark would always be a buggy POS. And I'm not one bit surprised that they're trying to sell the same game, and mark my words, ASA will only be an improvement visually, all the bugs and issues that Ark has now will still be there in ASA.
I'm glad I stopped playing official PVP a long time ago. Hearing all the recent news, including the Snail Games/TEA Tribe shenanigans think I'll save my money.
