- Replacing the modular one piece modular clutch assembly and throughout bearing/slave cylinder assembly on a 2010 Jeep Patriot front wheel drive 2.4l . Hope it helps some people . Had to make separate videos because i started one night for a little an finished it the next day. This is not a difficult job .
You sir are my new hero for posting this. I have been suffering from air invading my hydraulic clutch system since I took ownership of my 2007 Compass with an identical engine two years ago. Shortly after acquisition I lost all use of the clutch and quickly diagnosed it as a hydraulic issue. By some grace after bleeding the system a few times it operated normally for an entire year until this spring 2017. Now the problem is getting worse.
I've been praying that it was not the slave, but I've run out of any other possible culprit. I've been searching for weeks for a solution or insight when I finally uncover this gem of videos. I know now that replacing that slave I may as well include a new clutch. So I can lock all of this problem away until beyond 200k miles.
Thank you so much!
Really appreciate this Ed, i'm gonna try it today, i'll keep you posted
I wanted to say thank you for the video. Also wanted to say the AWD version is not so easy. What a pain in the ass to get that last bolt between the transfer case and the bell housing.
Absolute nightmare
I used a pry bar thats kinda of thin and put it between the head of the cv case and trans housing and just pried it back a little and it popped out .
Thanks for the video but now I have more questions..
First, thanks for the video. It's been a lifesaver to get started. At the 5:20 mark you show the CV axle disconnected from the parts that go into the wheelwell (sorry I do not know the correct terms). How did you get to that part? I can feel the axle turning and already to off the bolts to the bracket holding it. I can figure out how the separate the axle from the rest of it shown at that part of the video.
Hello Mr. Ed. How long did your clutch replacement last you and were there any other issues after the replacement? What brand clutch did you use? Thanks!
So my buddy and I are trying to change out the hydraulic slave cylinder and throw out bearing on his 2012 Jeep Patriot because the throw out bearing is shot and the cheapest quote we got is 1300$. But this is the only video remotely related to our make and model. Tbh we need help. I’m wondering what is the best way to get to this part and or if we’re gonna have to drop the entire trans. Also does the gear shift and all its housing have to be removed to drop the trans?
how did u remove the shifter linkage clip on transmission
Karen Landry I just pried it up , they just snap on an off
Hey there, how does the hydraulic line separate? I'm having difficulty getting it disconnected at the transmission. I have the clip out but the line is just locked into the plastic at the bleeder assembly. Did you disconnect it at the master cylinder? thanks!
never mind, got it!
@@t.b0tthebotanist419
How did you do it?
The forbidden texts!
What about the rear mount n rear drive shaft did u not have to remove them ?
Tyler Delaronde the vehicle was front wheel drive only, no read drive shaft. I just started taking my transmission out of an 07 Jeep Patriot 4WD and you do have to remove the 6 bolts to the transfer case before you can remove the transmission.
What kind of symptoms will this issue show? I am having a clacking noise upon acceleration and deceleration sometimes even when shifting from park to drive or park to reverse. However it does not happen when revved in park or nuetral.
This is for manuals only moron.
Throw out bearing?
@@dude12348 what's that? Just googled it. I doubt it. Mines a cvt trans not a manual.
Hey I'm on my Dodge caliber and I'm doing ok
Why is it titled Jeep Patriot and it's a jeep liberty I've never changed a clutch before so I was kinda hoping that it was actually a Patriot given the fact that I have a 2017 Jeep patriot. Can some one tell me if it's still the same process or if it's different. Thanks everyone cheers 👍😊
I believe it is a patriot
Camera moves too fast, talking too fast to be able to pay attention to this for someone who actually doesn't know how to do a clutch in a Jeep Patriot
