Awsome video I'm about to service one of these Wednesday. What kind of oilfilter brand and number did you use. Carquest said the Carquest 84145 will work on it
Depends on how many hours you use it per day. If you use it like 3 hours per day, then I recommend every 3 -4 months minimum. If you use it less than an hour per day, I would recommend every 6 months. So twice a year. It all depends on how you use it and hard you work the forklift.
You forgot about , or didn't show the lower mast bushing grease fittings behind backing plate. Didn't check for free lift or secondary chain wear also.
Do it safer by placing blocks under steer axle- counterweight is held on by one sometimes 2 bolts , all the weight is sitting on bolts when it's sitting on blocks- be safe servicing
I should buy you some lunch sometime for this video… thanks for the help. How often should a forklift PM be done? Also curious your opinion on mobil 1 synthetic. They have some where they guarantee 20,000 miles on a car. Maybe this could help to not do oil changes as often.
Thank you for the kind words! PM should done every 200-250 hours or every 3-4 months. If you don’t use it that much, you can do it every 6 months. Full synthetic oil is always better. Mobile 1 is what I recommend for sure! 👍🏼. If you can’t afford it, any synthetic brand will work.
It all depends on use. I recommend every 3-4 months. If you rarely use it, every 6 months is fine as well. If it's heavy use all day every day, minimum every 3 months.
Yeah it's okay but I recommend either chain lube or a specific lube called "inner slide lube" Grease makes the chain really sticky and can dry up quickly. You want to keep the chains wet so they don't get stuck.
Im embarrassed to say i had no idea that third peddel os a clutch, i just thought it was a left foot break, how are you supposed to use a clutch on a forklift?
@@jasonbondar3 it essentially acts as a neutral/brake pedal. You press it half way down and it puts your transmission in neutral, then push it all the way down and it applies the brakes. So it’s a 2-in-1 action.
I use lithium grease or sometimes I use high temp grease (preferably mobile 1 grease). You can use 50/50 coolant. Typically red or orange colored coolant will work.
No, not necessarily. I usually try to find some kind of shade, and I even bring my own tall umbrella to protect me from the elements. Most of the time, customers have tall warehouses or garages, that you can use so that you don’t get rained on.
Thanks for the reply. I'm considering moving into the forklift arena but I'm concerned about working in bad weather. I wouldn't be able to concentrate and don't want my tools getting ruined.
You are not supposed to grease the carriage rollers like that. They are supposed to roll, greasing them can cause them to slide instead of rolling and lead to flat spots in the rollers. Not trying to troll you. Just trying to educate you a little.
That's either because Raymond wants extra work when the rollers turn into stop signs, or the service manager is ignorant. Every time I work on a crown, I have an acronym I use that Crown stands for. Can Run Only When New.
@@bailandyvlog8175 I need to know the same: what kind coolant he used, well he said 50/50 but as I don't know about it I'd like to know the brand and if its special for forklift.
Did you check the counter weight bolt before you jacked it up?? I'm only asking because I work for tmh and I jacked the truck up on the counter weight and found the bolt was loose .
Yes, before jacking it up, definitely check to make sure the bolt isn’t loose. But it’s not like the counter balance will come off. If you notice it’s loose, definitely tighten it.
