- B9 S4 - Integrated Engineering - Downpipe Install
Welcome back everyone!! I was away for a little bit doing some Army training and while I was away I got the new downpipe from Integrated Engineering. So you know I had to do an install video and cold start to show it off a bit. Their downpipe is a cast design, with a built in 200 cell race cat. It can be used on both stock and hybrid turbo setups, and bolts up to the factory location.
I also wanted to show off my new wheels. They are Volk TE37's in a 19x9.5 et32 configuration. I think I went a little small with the tire but wanted to be sure I had clearance, so I went with 245/35r19 Yokohama Advan Apex tires. My only complaint is the finish on these wheels is very soft and sensitive. There are a few issues that I hope to be able to touch up, but unfortunately they do not offer touch up paint for their wheels.
As always, thanks for stopping by!! Let me know if you have any questions about the install or if I can help in anyway. I promise to get some pulls and revs for you guys in an upcoming video, I know how much everyone loves to hear exhausts.

Dang that cold start sounds rowdy! Love it.
It’s so crazy 😂
I love it bro it’s sounds so amazing 🙌
Sweet video Matt always been a fan of awe and remus exhaust had them on almost all my car’s sounds awesome still a little nervous about the drone inside the car I can’t wait to see the results after it’s all broken in great video again brother
Thanks for comment. The drone at normal speeds and highway isn’t bad. It’s just above 2500 it’s a bit loud haha. Hoping to get some footage of it driving/revving up soon.
Great video man, doing my DP install this weekend on the SQ5 and I’m happy I came across your video. I’m out in Melbourne if you ever want to meet up
That’s awesome. How did the install go? I belong to a local group called space coast dubs. We meet up every Wednesday. Check out the Facebook group and come out one week. It’s a good group of people.
@@Wobblenuts it went really well, about 2.5hours. I went with catless RedStar DP and an ECS mid pipe with no resonators….it’s crazy loud, I need to figure something out lol. I’ll look for the group on FB thanks for sharing
@@sjaeger22 sick man, and I feel you on the loudness. I’m running a catted downpipe with the awe track exhaust and it’s soooo loud lol. There is usually a good turnout at the meet. We’re going to have a thanksgiving one next month that is huge.
@@Wobblenuts that’s awesome can’t wait to hear it in person. I’m actually 5 minutes down the road from LDs so I’ll have to stop by. I’ll bring my brother to, he has an S6
@@sjaeger22 hell yea, bring him too. It’s the one up off of Viera Blvd just FYI. I know there are a few around.
Hey Matt. Great to see another video is up. That downpipe with the exhaust is sounding really nice, even on just a little throttle, they are too muted in stock.
I like that with IE maps you can chose between crackle and non crackle. The 034Motorsport stage 1 is good but wish it came with that option as crackles are fun and all but not really for everyday driving. There is a workaround but that means using Individual mode rather than Dynamic which does the trick as crackles only work in Dynamic but would have been great to have the choice at the point of flashing the ecu.
How was the oil leak doing by the way?
Always good to see Archer 👍
Hey Myles, thanks as always my friend. It sounds insane at WOT. The downpipe really opened it up.
I also like that IE allows you to choose. I may throw the crackle tune on just to see what I think, but the non crackle tune sounds great while driving.
The oil leak seems to still be there. I couldn’t see too much on the ground, so I’m hoping to get it on a lift and do a proper inspection. I’m not losing much oil so I’m not overly concerned yet haha.
@@Wobblenuts definitely give the crackle map a try. When I'm in the mood I like it.. it's also good when you've someone pull level with you as you approach some red traffic lights.. let's them know you're not running stock and not to try 😉
Glad the leak isn't getting worse on the face of it. Getting it on the ramp will be a big help.
Take care Matt. Looking forward to seeing what's next!
Man i need a DP sooooo bad.. Car looks and sounds fantastic!
Appreciate it. I definitely recommend one haha.
Car sounds awesome man! Just ordered the downpipe and was curious how long the install took you? I've heard some horror stories before but it seemed like it went pretty smoothly!
Because I did the exhaust and knew where to go and what to use it was much easier. If I was just going and doing the install it probably would’ve taken me 2-3 hours tops. Stopping to film and starting again definitely adds time. Let me know if you have any questions when you get yours. Congrats!!
Do you get check engine light with ie downpipe?
Also was looking at the same catch can like yours, does it work did you get oil in the can? Thanks!!
Hey!! I did not get a check engine light with the downpipe. As for the catch can, the car doesn't get many miles so it's hard to say honestly. I have had some residue in there, but it doesn't like fill up. But again, I might drive it 2-4 times a month lol.
Whats the exhaust volume like in comfort mode with stage 2 and the decat?
Not bad unless you step on it. But I drove up to GA and on the highway it is 100% tolerable.
Not sure if anyone asked it but are you getting the 02 sensor fault code after installing the IE dp?
No fault code, but I’m also running their stg2 software. I do believe that helps keep everything normal.
Which midpipes, exhaust and tips are you using? Sounds sick!
Totally didn’t see this comment. Sorry about that. I’m running the IE downpipe and AWE track exhaust.
Dude what lug bolts are you using? I've been looking for spline nuts that extend beyond the hub
That’s the VW R wheel stud conversion kit. Can accommodate stock and with spacers. It’s an awesome kit.
@@Wobblenuts thanks I was wondering. I’ve seen large head spline nuts yet not bolts other than Redline 360.
@@NJmike07 yea I usually do stud conversions on my cars and this is definitely a nice kit. The nuts finish don’t hold up that great though. They’re fairly scuffed now.
@@Wobblenuts which conversion kit do you use. I’m planning on black nuts so not too worried about scuffs
@@NJmike07 they’re 80mm kit. You can run up to 20mm spacers with it.
What exhaust work other than the cat? Tips didn’t look stock. Thanks
AWE track edition exhaust. Together this thing sounds rowdyyyyy.
@@Wobblenuts why yes it does! How loud is it inside?
@@corycooper4955 depends on the rpm. When you drive aggressively it’s somewhat loud but not crazy. When cruising around it can get loud but on the highway it’s pretty tame.
Awesome video! What was your MOS? Thank you for your service
Thanks so much. When I was active I was a 13F and now I’m a 35F in the reserves.
@@Wobblenuts Rodger that brother, I was an 11B and we loved y'all 13F! Nice car and everything you've done to it!
Is lifting the vehicle a requirement or can it be installed from the engine bay alone?
I’m not sure you can reach one or two of the bolts without getting under it. Maybe if you had the right tools you could try. But much easier to just go under the car for them in my opinion.
Sounds amazing! A1A, do you live in south Florida?
Yep, in Brevard County
@@Wobblenuts Any good shops near use you trust for installing these parts if I prefer to go that route? Thanks
@@corycooper4955 there is Melbourne Motorsports. They seem pretty solid. Then down the coast a little bit is EPR. I’ve heard great things about them too.
@@Wobblenuts I did see EPR which is about an hour or so north of me.. well worth it if I’m getting something more than an oil change or warranty work done. Thanks
@@corycooper4955 hell yea, they are good dudes there. The owner knows his stuff for sure.
so i only need intake with inlet and downpipe for stage 2?
or do i need super inlet
Intake, inlet and downpipe. Intercooler id recommended but not needed.
thanks
how did you get your seat so low?!?
What do you mean? haha
is crackle have more pops?
Correct. When letting off the gas you get more pops.
@@Wobblenuts Just get IE stage 2 93 with crackle ,It‘s Amazing!
Where did you get the wheels?
Picked them up used from a guy in NY actually. I just put 265s on then this past weekend too. Much better 👍🏻
265/35?@@Wobblenuts
@@MG9783 on the TEs they were 265/35 yea
What about the cells?
You talking about the check engine light? There is none with stg2 software.
Hey could you give me the list of tools you used and sizes I’d really appreciate it (:
Straight from IEs website: Socket Wrench, various extensions, and wobble sockets 13mm Socket/Wrench, T30 Socket, 12mm Socket/Wrench, Trim removal tool 22mm Box end wrench. To get the rear downpipe bolts I used a S wrenches to help with clearance/angle.
sick car, gross color
I’ll take gross as a good thing? Hahaha thanks.
