What do you think of milk thistle to help lower elevated alt and ast (biopsy found drug induced liver injury)

I think this would be a great use case for milk thistle since you know the cause of your elevated liver enzymes. It always good to let your doctor know what you are doing.

My wife has just been told her alt is 800+ she has no real discomfort although she did have some a couple of years ago, she doesn't drink but she does a lot of herbal teas. How come she has no pain?

Wow sorry to hear that. Most people that have liver damage do not have pain as there are not a lot of nerves to the bulk of the liver. The gallbladder is different though.

@swintegrative thank you, we just think it's weird really sudden and she eats healthy etc do you think it could still be turned around with diet and supplements like milk thistle? Any advice on a holistic approach is appreciated

Levels like that it is possible but seems likely there is some other cause. Retesting, testing for some of the things mentioned in the video and ultimately seeing hepatologist if they remain high. The supplements mentioned are very safe but can skew test results and dx so have to be mindful of that. Once diagnosed

i exercise regularly 4-6days a week and the day before i took bloodtest i did weightlifting with cardio exercise. I took bloodtest the next day
    and my result are
    FBS 100.93
    cholesterol 225.87 *
    triglyceride 213.81 *
    Uric acid 9.71 *
    AST 32.72
    ALT 63 *
    creatinine 0.81
    HDL 51.33
    LDL 131.78 *
    VLDL 42.76
im expecting a better outcome but im kinda confused with the result. Does exercise elevate the numbers before taking blood test?
im considering taking a 4-7days off from workout and get a test again
