Ricardo Castillo, Preludio 7

Castillo (1891 - 1966) was a Guatemalan composer. He studied in France during his youth, returning to Guatemala in 1922. This prelude is from an extraordinary set of eight short preludes completed in 1951 and dedicated to Debussy, Ravel, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky and Messiaen. Castillo placed the following motto (quoted from a sonnet by Fèlix d'Arvers) on the title page: "Mon âme a son secret, ma vie a son mystére."
