This is a work of art. I hope this will be recognized by more people because you deserve more recognition
Thank you! Mompou was an incredible composer.
@@FredSturm1 wait... was? Did he pass away?
@@Skek-ln6mb He lived 1893 - 1987
Throughout the piece I hear a ¾ time signature, although it is written in 6/8 time. Is this intended?
Professor Sturm, The comments on danzon 2 are very interesting, and on the other hand, I think it makes sense to relate the work that you masterfully executed with the painter Rangel. Greetings
holaaa! me gustó la interpretación!! saludoooss mil gracias
Exquisite
Thanks! Bor is an amazing composer.
A marginally slower tempo would let you to get a more "negro" feeling of the music and also would let a better control over notes in quick passages (1:04 -- 2:35).
Slower there_?.Belive me, he is slow there allready.Hear Lecuona on that time precisely..really fast. Its written in the notes.Loco rithm.I think its right what they say.Lecuona is to be performed by cubans only.I like the way he performed tough.Really good.Really good.
Muito bom! Adorei!
Muito 'brigado!

Bravo
Obrigado
Exquisite!
Delightful
A little of Steve Reich in there, I think. I like it.
There is a similarity, and perhaps Reich inspired Márquez somewhat. But En Clave is far more "through composed" than Reich's music typically is. There are three basic patterns in the left hand, which have the same successions of notes when they are played, but vary in rhythm as the right hand plays 1, 2, sometimes three or four intervening notes. The right hand patterns are varied constantly, in rhythm and in order of the notes in small cells. The accents are placed strategically in an intuitive rather than mechanical way, and create larger scale melodies. There is a very conscious tension between E flat and D throughout the piece, which starts on E flat and ends on D., Reich most often worked with underlying patterns that morphed against one another in a more mechanical manner.
@@FredSturm1 Thank you for that detail. I have only listened once to your performance where you obviously have had to make a detailed study to learn it. Sounds like a nightmare to commit to memory! I have only recently come to his music and am still happily exploring a composer who is still alive! I love Bach too, but it’s ages since he came up with anything new.
Amazing!
Tecnically very good, but Mr. Sturm lacks the musical feeling of a black person. Too "metronomic".
Hi! Could you tell me how to get the music sheet? Thank you!

So fast!i cant keep up!✌️✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
According to Anna Stella Schic, a pianist who worked with Villa-Lobos, recorded all his piano works, and wrote a biography, V-L liked it played as fast as possible. There is a recording of the composer himself playing it - ruclips.net/video/z3ZJWTJS5Bg/видео.html
Thank you for this, I love it, this whole series of sonatas is fantastic, also i greatly enjoy all the hispanic music presented. Somehwhat alike is Lubos Fiser's piano sonatas love both but this is the winner PaulRx4
