Ricardo Castillo, Preludios

Castillo (1891 - 1966) was a Guatemalan composer. He studied in France during his youth, returning to Guatemala in 1922. He dedicated this extraordinary set of eight short preludes to Debussy, Ravel, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky and Messiaen, and placed the following motto (quoted from a sonnet by Fèlix d'Arvers) on the title page: "Mon âme a son secret, ma vie a son mystére."
