Crikey. I love this song (probably one of my 3 favourite Sisters tunes) and this version is awesome - Andrew's voice has so much emotion in it. Give me this over any X-Factor or Britain's Got Talent soulless note-perfect karaoke any day!

I adore this early working of one of the Great tunes. It is a pity that the picture on the front is from the wrong incarnation of the band. It may be a little thing but for new Goths there was a band b4 this that when they split up went on to form, The Mission, Ghost dance, Skeletal family. Please check out the early Recordings they are amazing.
Believe me or not I'm actually the one who uploaded this video back when I was like 15. I can't remember how to get back into the RUclips and I don't even know what email it was under but I remember specifically using this picture just to annoy old goths. I was a young kid and knew how horribly offended people get especially older goths who just want to scold everyone. I figured Andrew Eldritch was in my position he would do what he can to piss people like you off as well so it seemed to fit the spirit of the band

Given the animosity that developed between Eldritch and Patricia Morrison it seems unlikely that he'd choose a publicity photograph that features her, as opposed to one of the line up from when the Sisters were a genuine band, playing actual gigs.

That's because Andrew cannot really sing well in high notes. He also stated that he tried but couldn't. FALAA is full of bad high notes, possibly not only unintentional since he's aware of the issue too.
Here he sings his high notes as clean as he can, and his voice is much younger. I know his suffering as a baritone 😂

Beautiful. Andrew belittles his poetry on the basis that it isn't four quartets. He is misguided in that. There is an extraordinary truth here.

hate the electric drums on this ithink it was improved later on , the desperation is clearer and the terible drum machine isnt present [ i know lead singer wanted to do them but band outvoted him so the y ebded up with a machine,.... bit odf a control freak unfortunately ,... hence the band called 'the mission' they were at uni together
The later version that was released on 'First and Last and Always' is still a drum machine; apart from the very early recordings ('Damage Done', 'Watch') the Sisters have always had a Doctor Avalanche. And it is always been programmed by the 'lead singer' - and he's always 'out voted' everyone else. '...they were at uni together' No. Eldritch and Marx were regulars at Leeds venue the 'F Club', where Von's girlfriend Claire Shearsby was a DJ. - it grew from there.

Not exactly. Patricia and Andrew became friends in 1983 during common US tour (the SOM and the Gun Club), while he was in a relationship with Claire. I don't know how close friends, admittedly. But if you look at the lyrics of this version and the final version...
