One of the most underrated bands ever; Andrew Eldritch and Patricia Morrison are phenomenal Talents. The very first time I heard S.O.M., was 1993 in Hawaii. We use to party at a club called The Dungeon. Those magical days were only magical because of the awesome music that this band contributed; for that, I give them thanks. This song in particular is definitely part of what memories Ill be taking, to whatever afterlife awaits; and if there, no ones heard of The Sisters, Ill inform them.
This brings so many fond memories of my youth! Listening to S.o.M., and making out with this gorgeous goth girl, while trippin'. Going to SOMA in downtown San Diego and drinking a conglomeration of alcohols from a snifter that was bigger than my head. Leopard print creepers, blue/black mohawk, black everything... What happened? Now, I'm a suit and tie guy... oh the days when we were free to do as we pleased... the daily grind, love, family, and responsibilities took over. I still have my memories, and thank God for music, because I can always go back to that place in my mind, I still have that snifter, the music, and the alcohol. Where are my creepers?
Da Ghetto Ninja Oh yes...remember those days...Muddy's Coffee House in Denver, Lalapalooza festivals, underground dance clubs,.... but life is better now, and happier!
Patricia Morrison... Nothing more need be said. The music is amazing. I am a huge Sister's fan and during this era the videos were easy. Just put Morrison in them. Who could not stare at her forever? 😁
Someone busier staring at Eldridge? 🤔 But yes Morrison is fab, kind've perfect; her lovely face with wise serene look in this video reminds me of a cat-! Also a talented musician with a long career yet also integrity; a beautiful Soul indeed.

Patricia didn't play bass...she was there for looks and moral support... Eldritch served as the vocalist, performed all instruments, and programmed the band's drum machine, "Doktor Avalanche". There was some help from Eddie Martinez (guitar, guy from Porto-Rican descend who appears briefly in the clip "This Corrosion) Morrison did not contribute to the album despite being a member of the Sisters of Mercy.Despite hiring her to play bass guitar on the album, Eldritch later claimed that Morrison did not contribute to the songwriting for it, with him saying that it was practically a solo record. Eldritch insinuated that she suffered from writer's block and was unable to come up with many musical ideas, also adding that he "couldn't even get her to pick up the bass in the first place."He reaffirmed this in a 2012 interview with Classic Rock, stating that she "didn't make the cut" and therefore did not appear on Floodland. Love Sisters of Mercy, the Mission UK and the Cult. Floodland used to be my morning wake up album in the late 80s. What a great time and awesome music! I never knew I was 'goth' either but I wore things like black silk dresses combined with aggressor boots. I must have looked really wacky, lol!
As 80ies kid I am still admiring those time: colorful makeup, big hair and ppl brave enough to put on eccentric clothes. Yes, I guess those were best times- not only musicwise but also considering indivualism and creativity
thank you!! we listened to what we wanted, wore what we wanted, but we werent so empty inside we had to label ourselves. look at me: im wearing black, im so goth, im so cool. we listened to the music because it was good, not because it somehow defined us.

On the lone and level

Hold hold and say
In the meeting of mined
Down in the streets of shame
In the betting of names on gold to rust

In this oppressive world that is growing ever heavier, the few will survive. This music spans generations. I was there at the beginning, hopefully I will be there at the end!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Who is this? Duran Duran?" my friend just said.

MrJimbaloid Aww well I think Dave Vanian beat you to it.
